Entangled with the Billionaire

Chapter 79

Ch. 79 / 101 Jan 12, 2026

Three weeks later! (11 weeks pregnant)

Mia stayed two extra hours at the office to complete her work since the deadline was near.

At 7 pm sharp, She paused all she was doing and started gathering her things to go home.

Instead of heading straight to the penthouse, Mia stopped by a Pizza shop since that was what she was craving. There was a grocery store not too far from the pizza place so she stopped by to pick up a few things.

Getting back to her car with all the items she got, Mia drove towards She and Colton's home.

Gently shutting the door behind her, Mia went straight to the kitchen. She placed all that she bought on the way on the counter, then proceeded to the bedroom. She undressed and took a shower.

Once she was done drying her hair and body, She changed into one of Colton's shirts.

Taking out her phone from her handbag, Mia exited the master bedroom. She put away the groceries, poured herself a glass of orange juice, then settled on the stool behind the counter to feed herself and her precious little angel.

Halfway through, Mia's phone buzzed beside her, She took a few sips of her juice before reaching for her phone. It turned out to be Hailey, her best friend, and that made her smile a little.

"Hi, babe!" She said to the other side.

"My love, how are you?" Hailey's voice came through.

"I'm fine!" She mumbled.

"You sure? Your voice is usually sharper than this. You miss him, don't you?" Hailey couldn't help but ask.

Mia exhaled. "I miss him so much. It's crazy how bored and lonely I've become since he left for the business trip."

Hailey's heart went out to her best friend. "Do you need me to come over?"

"I appreciate your concern, boo but thanks, that won't be necessary. It's late and besides, your place is a bit far from here."

"Even though I miss Colton so much, I think I'm slowly getting used to him not being around. At least it's not as bad as the first two days without him." A small smile crept to Mia's lips as she remembered how much of a mess she was.

Since Colton and Mia got really close, Colt had avoided anything that would make him leave New York. Before now, he had been sending people to represent him at various meetings outside the state and making use of zoom the more.

But then, the news about this work-related stuff he had to travel for came through. In as much as Colton didn't want to go, he knew his presence was much needed over there. He tried to convince Mia to come with him but she declined.

Apart from the fact that she had her job to attend to over here, in New York, Mia felt it made no sense going with him since he would be very busy and she would probably be all to herself in the hotel.

"He left on Sunday morning and I was a mess for the whole day. I remember crying too." Mia chuckled. "My hormones got the worst of me. I had no one to cuddle me and shower me with kisses. I found it hard to sleep at night too."

"Monday was fairer because I went to the office and work kept me busy. I miss him so much but on the other hand, I've come to train my mind about certain situations. Colton is a businessman and going for business trips is part of his duties."

"You're right. I love that you're being positive about everything. When is he coming back?" Hailey asked.

"He's to spend two weeks, so let's say, next weekend."

"Hang on dear, next weekend is almost here. I trust Colton to always keep in touch with you. Isn't he?"

"Yes. Despite the time difference, he always finds time to call me at night. He talks me to bed"

"That's good to hear, Babe. I'll be free this Saturday so I'll come over to check on you. How's our precious little one doing?"

"Fine" Mia smiled, gently placing her left hand on her stomach. "He or she is the one keeping me sane while Daddy is away."

"And you? How are you and Enoch?"

"I'm fine. Enoch is okay, I guess."

From Hailey's reply, Mia could sense that something was wrong.

"Hail, are you and Enoch okay?" She whispered, scared of what Hailey's reply might be.

She sighed. "We took a break!"

"A break? What do you mean? Did he offend you?" Mia asked, confused. As far as she was concerned, Hailey and Enoch love each other so much and they've been together for a long time.

Hailey sighed again. "I really don't know how to explain it, babe. Things have not been going well between us lately so we decided to put an end to our relationship."

"I'm so sorry, love. When did this happen? Why didn't you tell me?"

"We broke up last weekend. I didn't say anything to you because I didn't want you to worry."

"You shouldn't think that way, Hailey. You worry about every damn thing concerning me so it's normal for me to be worried about you. Do you need me to talk to Enoch?"

"Please don't contact him." She said almost immediately.

"Babe, are you sure you're being honest with me?" Mia asked.

"I think myself and Enoch's love story is over and it's time to move on. He now likes another person so there's no point crying over spilled milk."

"He cheated on you?" Mia asked, surprised. Enoch didn't seem like someone that would do that.

"Maybe, but I don't care anymore."

"Look, Hailey. It's not good to make decisions when you're angry."

"That's not the point, Mia. I just can't stand it anymore. Francesca has taken over his life and I won't let anyone treat me like the other woman."

"Francesca?" Mia frowned.

"She's his new boss. I won't be surprised if they've been fucking themselves behind my back. For weeks now, Enoch and I have had no privacy. Francesca has taken over our personal time. He goes on official trips with her. Every fucking time! I mean, he's not her secretary for crying out loud."

"He doesn't show up for our dates because he and Francesca are always working on some shitty project. Even when he manages to squeeze time to be with me, all he talks about is her. I can count how many times She has called and texted him in my presence even when it wasn't working hours. I've had enough of all that, Mia. It's best that we went our separate ways."

"Hailey, I'm so sorry," Mia whispered.

"There's nothing to be sorry for, babe. Sure, it's been hard for me too but I know I'll be fine. There's nothing worse than being with a man whose heart belongs to another woman. He probably didn't have the balls to come clean to me about not liking me anymore. They say actions speak louder than words so I had to let him go."

Mia's heart went out to her best friend. Even from Hailey's voice, She could tell that Hail was really pained about it but was trying to appear strong.

"I'm so sorry, Hail"

"It's fine, Mia. Please don't be sad or feel troubled. It's not good for the baby. Besides, life happens."

"I know life happens but this isn't normal. I have to apologize in advance because I'll definitely talk to Enoch. I just can't sit here and do nothing."

"Please don't, Mia."

"Enoch is not only my best friend's boyfriend. He's my friend too so he's answerable to me."

"Ex-boyfriend!" Hailey rectified.

Mia sighed. "Will you be home tomorrow evening?"

"No. There is this office party I have to attend."

"Too bad. I was thinking I would come over to your place after work."

"It's fine. I had decided to come to see you on Saturday anyways."

"Alright, babe. Please, don't think too much. Everything will be fine."

"Thank you," Hailey mumbled.

The two best friends talked some more until they decided to call it a night.
