"Mia!" Ashley hugged her.
"Hi, Sis!" Mia smiled returning the hug.
"You look so damn beautiful, Mia. And congratulations on your engagement." Ashley said after they pulled away.
"Thank you. You look gorgeous too."
"May I?" Ashley asked, wanting to take a look at the engagement ring.
"Sure!" Mia stretched out her left hand, showing her soon-to-be sister-in-law the ring.
"Oh my! This is so precious. I didn't know Colton had a great taste." Mia chuckled while Colton playfully glared at his younger sister.
"Of course he does." Mia defended her fiance, taking a glance at him.
Ashley smiled. "I'm happy for you both. I'm grateful that my brother has you, Mia. He has been happier since he met you. I know Colton can be a handful but Thank you for loving him regardless.
"You have nothing to thank me for. I'm more grateful to have your brother in my life. He's the best thing that has ever happened to me." She intertwined her hand with his as she glanced at him.
"You both are so cute" Ashley smiled sweetly at them.
"Don't I deserve a hug too or at least some birthday wishes?" Colton said to his younger sister.
"You don't have to get jealous. I was about to do that." Ashley hugged her brother. "Happy birthday big bro and congratulations on taming the kindest and most beautiful woman I've ever seen. I'm so happy for you, Colt."
"Thanks love," He kissed her cheek.
"Mia, you didn't tell me your brothers were so freaking hot. Hailey just introduced me to them."
Mia chuckled.
"I thought you're in a relationship!" Colt said to his sister.
Ashley shrugged. "That doesn't mean I shouldn't admire good stuff when I see them."
"I hope they were nice to you," Mia said. It's been a while since she saw her brothers and she was glad that they were here.
"They are so charming. Just like you." She smiled. "You should probably go say Hi to them. I'll see you all around."
Kissing Mia and Colton on the cheek, Ashley took her leave.
With Colton's hand intertwined with Mia's own, they walked further into the venue. The beautifully decorated backyard was filled with several guests. Some were seated, Some were on their feet. The waiters were going around with food and drinks and there was soft music playing in the background.
Everything looked so beautiful and Colourful.
"You and Mom did a really good job with the decorations," Colton whispered to Mia.
She smiled, nodding her head. "I think your mom deserves more credit though. I only gave her my ideas and she was here to supervise the staff when they were putting everything in place."
"Wait, are those for us? I mean for you?" She chuckled, referring to the gift corner which was overflowing with gifts.
"Today's a double celebration, I think our guests came prepared." He smiled at her.
"And there goes the couple of the year!" Mia and Colton heard a voice say. They looked in the direction where the voice came from and It turned out to be Caleb who had a blondie clinging onto his arm.
Caleb whispered a few words in her ear, released himself from her, and approached Colton and his fiancee.
"Oh my, you look absolutely gorgeous, Queen Mia." He took Mia's hand and placed a polite kiss on it.
She smiled. "Thanks, Caleb. You don't look bad either."
"Yeah, thanks for your compliments. We should get going." Colton mumbled, taking away Mia's hand from Caleb's own. He possessively put a hand over Mia's waist, marking his territory.
"He's scared that I would steal you away from him," Caleb smirked which earned a glare from Colton.
Mia chuckled. She turned to face her man and kissed him on the lips. "My heart beats for only you, baby. No one can compete with you." She said sincerely, looking into his beautiful eyes.
"You're spoiling him, Mia." Caleb teased, with a smile on his face.
"Mind your fucking business, Caleb," Colton mumbled.
Mia shook her head, intertwining her hand with Colton's own. "He spoils me more! And to be sincere, I would also be jealous if anyone tried to get all lovey-dovey with him."
Caleb rolled his eyes. "Colton knows I meant no harm but I love the fact that he's jealous" he winked at Colt. "It shows how much he loves you and there's no doubt that you love him too."
"I'm glad that my brother has you, Mia. Colton is the apple of the eye of this family and we love and respect him so much. I tease him a lot but Damn, I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world."
"He has been through so much and I'm glad for the turn his life has taken. I've never had any interest in the women he has been with but I like you for him. I wouldn't deny that you gave him a hard time though." Caleb playfully stared at her accusingly.
Mia blushed in embarrassment.
"Yeah, at some point I was tempted to ask Colton what the hell but I'm happy for how things turned out. Despite the fact that there were hard times, I've never seen Colton this happy. You have no idea how relieved I am. I have always feared he's going to end up being a loner."
Colton rolled his eyes at his younger brother, making him chuckle.
"Anyway, I'm happy for you both. Congratulations on your engagement and I wish you all joy and happiness."
"Thank you." Mia smiled.
"You bring the best and worst out of me. I don't know if I should be mad at you but thanks for the wishes and compliments. Even though you're a pest most of the time, heaven knows I couldn't have asked for a better brother." Colton said.
Caleb smiled proudly. "Your engagement gift is over there." He pointed to the gift corner.
"A disclaimer! Open it when you both are ALONE!" He stressed the word ALONE!
"God, Caleb!!! I literally just finished praising you and you've already committed another crime. What the hell did you give us?"
"You know I don't give spoilers!" He winked at Colton. "You all will see them when you unwrap them." He smiled sheepishly.
"I'll go back to my date. Have a wonderful evening my loves and Happy birthday bro, I love you so much." He went back to where his blondie was waiting for him without giving Mia or Colton the chance to say anything.
"What did you think he gave us?" Mia asked Colt the moment Caleb was out of sight.
Colton sighed. "I have no idea, babe. But since I know my brother very well, I'll say expect the unexpected. Caleb can be very crazy!"
"I see some of my business partners. Come with me, let me introduce you to them."
