The birth of the Royal Babies!
No matter how much Colton Royal prepared himself for this day and what to expect, he came to realize that no amount of preparation was enough for what he was actually experiencing
He thought Mia's accident which happened months ago was the scariest day of his life. But today's happenings replaced that thought. He felt so useless standing by his woman, doing nothing but holding her hand, encouraging her to push, and showering kisses all over her sweaty face.
Words couldn't describe how pained Colton was to see the love of his life in pain. He wished there was a way he could share in her pain.
Despite how heavy Colton's eyes were with tears, he was determined not to let them fall because he wanted to be strong for Mia.
But the moment he heard the cries of the first baby, those fucking hot tears rolled down his cheeks.
"Congratulations, it's a girl!!!" The doctor's voice came through and Colton cried even harder.
"It's a girl, sweets. Our baby girl is here. I'm so proud of you." He placed a kiss on Mia's lips, then a long one on her forehead.
Before Colton could say anything else, the Doctor invited him to cut his baby girls' cord.
His hands were seriously shaking as he held the scissors.
"Keep calm Mr. Royal. You will do just fine." Almira smiled at him.
Colton took a deep breath and then did what he was told to.
His baby girl was cleaned up a little, wrapped in a light blanket, and placed on her mommy's chest.
"Oh my God, She's so precious," Mia said in tears of joy as she looked down at her daughter on her chest.
"She really is. I can't believe we made such a beautiful human." Colton said, his eyes not leaving Mia and their newborn baby.
"Her name please?" One of the nurses asked.
"Claire Madison Royal," Colton said proudly.
The nurse nodded, writing the name on the tag meant for Claire.
Soon enough, Claire was taken away for further check-ups and Mia had to push out the second baby.
According to the books Colton has read, Once the first baby was out, it should be easier for the second baby but that wasn't the case here. It took a little over ten minutes for Claire's twin to come out and even after that, they heard no cry.
Something was definitely wrong because of the way Almira, the nurses, and the specialist were whispering to each other. They quickly took the baby to the check-up table to examine him or her.
Colton's heart fell.
"My baby?!!!" Fresh tears rolled down Mia's cheeks as she clung onto Colton's hand as if her life depended on it.
Colton tried to say something but words failed him as a tear rolled down his cheek.
"I want to see my baby. Colt. I want to see him or her." Mia sobbed, repeating those words. But before she could throw a fit, a loud cry came through.
Both parents looked to their side where the check-up area was. They weren't sure if the cry was from Claire or her twin.
The new parents only heaved a sigh of relief when they heard another cry join the first cry.
Mia and Colton couldn't help but burst into another round of tears. Words couldn't describe how relieved and grateful the duo were.
Soon enough, Almira came over to them with the baby in her arms. The little cutie was still crying. The baby only stopped crying when placed on mommy's chest.
"It's a girl. Congratulations!" Almira smiled at the blessed family.
"Thank you, God!" Mia whispered with her eyes closed the moment she felt her baby on her chest. Mia honestly didn't care about the gender. She was just grateful her baby was okay. She placed a kiss on her baby girls' forehead. Colton did the same after which he kissed Mia's lips.
"It's okay, my love," Mia whispered when she heard her baby whimper.
"I was so scared," Mia said to Almira.
She smiled. "It's true that babies cry when they are born but some don't and that doesn't mean they aren't healthy. We dried her body and suctioned fluids out of her nose, then the loud cry came through."
"Sorry you didn't get to cut her cord as you did to her sister's. I had to quickly do it myself so we could check on her." Almira directed to Colton.
"It's fine. I'm just grateful my babies are okay." He said, with his eyes not leaving the little girl that was on Mia's chest.
"She looks so much like her sister. How will we be able to differentiate them?" Colton whispered shyly.
Mia and Almira chuckled.
"No matter how identical the babies are, their parents will always recognize them. So there's no need to be tense. I'm sure you will begin to find the differences between them when they get cleaned up properly." Almira assured.
Colton nodded, slowly caressing his baby's tiny fingers.
"Claire's hair is fuller while this little cutie almost has no hair. I think that will help for now." Mia smiled weakly at Colt.
He nodded.
"So what's Claire's twin sister's name?" Almira asked so they would put the name on her tag.
"Chloe Makayla Royal" Mia answered.
Almira allowed both parents to spend a few more minutes with Chloe before she collected her for further check-up and cleaning.
"You're so strong, my Queen. I'm so proud of you." Colton said as he stared into Mia's beautiful but tired eyes.
She had stained tears on her cheeks, her hair was messy but all Colton could see was a strong beautiful woman.
Mia's lips curved into a small smile as she gave Colton's hand that was already intertwined with hers a light squeeze. "Thank you for being so supportive. I really couldn't have gone through this without you by my side."
"I can't believe our girls are here. They are so precious." Mia said, fresh tears welling up in her eyes.
Colton was quick to wipe away the tears from the corner of her eyes.
Mia chuckled. "I guess it will take a while for my hormones to go back to normal."
Colt smiled. "It's okay to want to tear up when thinking of how precious they are. I have three adorable women in my life. I promise to cherish and love you all with all of my heart." He leaned closer to Mia and kissed her passionately.
