Entangled with the Billionaire

Chapter 71

Ch. 71 / 101 Jan 12, 2026

Mia and Colton returned to the room, tired and extremely exhausted when it was almost 2 am. They cuddled with each other and fell asleep almost immediately.

At about 5:45 am, Colton stirred in his sleep. He was forced to open his eyes when he didn't feel Mia's arms or body close to him.

Opening his eyes, he saw that she was nowhere to be found beside him. Sitting up, he took a glance at the room. He didn't see her in sight but he saw the light's reflection from the bathroom.

As if on cue, a disturbing noise came through which made him get down from the bed and proceed to the bathroom. It was the sound of someone puking.

"Fuck!" Colton cursed the moment he tried to open the door and saw that it was locked from the inside.

"Mia, please open up." He said, knocking on the door."

"Please, babes, open the damn door." He knocked again when he got no response. Colt waited for a while hoping Mia was going to open up but she didn't.

"I'm going to break down this door, Mia." At this point, he was beyond worried. But before he could do anything, Mia opened up.

He approached her immediately and cupped her pale face in his hand. "What happened? I was worried sick. You're not feeling okay?"

Mia's heart went out to Colton seeing how stressed out he was already. "I'm fine. Sorry I got you worried. I was trying to clean up before I came out." She responded.

"It's obvious you aren't feeling well, Mia. I can tell from your voice. I'll call Richard." He referred to their family Doctor. He was about to leave Mia's sight when she stopped him.

"There's no need. I only had a stomach upset. And I'm sure Richard will still be sleeping."

"I don't think so but it's fine if he is, I'm sure he will call back as soon as he sees my missed call."

Mia intertwined her hand with Colton's own. "I'm fine, I promise. I just feel weak but I know I'll be okay after taking a nap. I'll also be taking the day off to rest"

Colton sighed. He caressed her cheek. "I'm so sorry, I think I wore you out last night."

"No sweets. That's not why." She answered immediately.

He nodded but that didn't take the worried and guilty look off Colton's face.

"I guess I might just tell you the truth," Mia mumbled.

Colton arched his brow, "what do you mean?"

She took a deep breath, intertwined her hand with Colt's own, and led him to the sofa in the room.

As confused as Colton was, he followed Mia. He also obeyed when she offered him a seat on the sofa. Instead of sitting beside him, Mia got comfortable on his lap.

"The truth is, I haven't been feeling well lately." She whispered.

"God, Mia, why didn't you tell me?" He took her hand in his, already feeling like the worst fiance ever.

"You don't have to feel bad. There was no way you would have known without me telling you. And I didn't tell you because I didn't think it was something serious."

Colton sighed. "It all started when we had dinner and you complained about the wine. Right?"

Mia nodded.

"Mia, but you promised me that everything was fine." The worry and disappointment were evident in his voice and face.

"Yes, and I've not broken my promise."

Not understanding what she meant, Colton decided to stay quiet as she shed more light on the situation.

Mia sighed, not letting go of his hands that were intertwined with hers.

"After that night, I tried taking wine or alcoholic drinks again but they would just taste so weird in my mouth so I stopped taking them."

"About two weeks ago, I would always feel dizzy in the afternoons during work. I thought I was putting a lot of pressure on myself so I started cutting down my tasks for each day."

"Also, I notice I've been very sensitive to smells. Then just like today, I felt sick yesterday morning and I had to go puke. Sammie and Hailey got really worried, I opened up to them about all of my symptoms, and...."

Mia sighed. She took Colton's right hand and placed it on her still flat stomach. "They both guessed that we might be expecting a little bundle of joy." She said with a small smile, looking into Colton's eyes, not wanting to miss any reaction. His eyes were glued to their hands that rested on her belly.

"I thought they were being ridiculous at first. Most especially Hailey who said her elder sister had the same symptoms at the early stage of her pregnancy. I collected my phone from Sammie and googled it and it turned out they might be right."

"They wanted me to take a test or even stop by the hospital on our way to the airport but I declined. Whatever it was, I wanted to find out with you. I was hoping I would get the test from the pharmacy after work today and then open up to you."

Mia's smile got bigger when she saw Colton's lips curve into a beautiful smile. He looked into her gorgeous eyes. "Are you for real?"

Mia nodded. "It could be pregnancy symptoms all along." She softly caressed his cheek "I know I'm not meant to be this sure because it hasn't been confirmed but I just have a very strong feeling that my friends are right. With the whole symptoms, it only made sense that Colton or Mia junior is on its way."

"Oh my God, Mia! This is the best news ever." Colt rose to his feet with Mia still in his arms and he twirled her around."

"Please stop," Mia giggled. "You're going to make me dizzy!"

Colton obeyed and gently placed her on her feet. He instantly leaned closer to her and kissed her. He poured all of his joy and gratitude into the passionate kiss.

"So, this is the gift you have for me?" He asked, the smile refusing to leave his face.

"Yes, love. We finally got what we secretly prayed for. You're going to be a father. An amazing one!"

"Our baby is going to be so blessed to have you as its mother. Thank you so much, Mia. Thank you." He placed a long kiss on her forehead.

Mia chuckled "Why are you thanking me? It takes two parents to make a baby."

Colton kissed her cheek. "I know. I knew we would be blessed with our own child but I didn't think it would be this soon. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to know about him or her."

Mia laughed. "I should have made some sort of disclaimer. A year before my mom passed away, the whole family was together for Thanksgiving and then my Dad made a joke about the women in my mom's family being extremely fertile. He said we get pregnant the moment men sneeze at us."

"If my mom was still alive, I'm sure as hell that Richie won't be the last born. Out of all of my mom's sisters, my mother was the one with few kids."

"The joke sounded very funny but as I became an adult, I became very conscious when it was time for sex. I got pills and always ensured my exes had condoms on."

"Is that why you refused to go further with me on our first night together?" Colton couldn't help but ask.

Mia chuckled "Maybe. I was so fucked up already and being knocked up by a stranger was definitely not what I wanted."

"But you're happy about the baby, right? I know it came earlier than expected bu...."

"Miaaaa!" Colton cut her off. "Words cannot describe how happy I am. I wouldn't have wanted this baby to be conceived any other time. I'm glad the way things turned out." He said sincerely.

Mia nodded with a heartwarming smile.

"Do you still feel sick?" He caressed her cheek.

"I feel tired." She confessed.

"I'll call Richard to see if he can slot us in this morning."

Colton went over to the nightstand for his phone and dialed Richard who fortunately picked up after a couple of rings. It was past 6 am already.

Mia got herself comfortable on the bed as her fiance spoke to the doctor.

"We have to get dressed," Colton said, putting his phone back on the nightstand. He went to where Mia was and knelt before her.

"Richard is on the way to the office already. His shift starts at 7:30 so he can attend to us before then. If we can't make it before 7:30, then we would have to wait until tomorrow."

"Let's go take a shower then. I don't think I can wait till tomorrow for the confirmation." Mia said.

.........

In twenty minutes, Colton Royal and his Fiancée took their showers and dressed up.

The hospital wasn't too far from the penthouse so they got there on time.

Richard was happy to receive them. After hearing the couple out, he invited the best gynecologist in the hospital over to his office.

Dr. Almira checked up on Mia and asked a couple of questions. Mia was asked to take some tests which results were ready in a couple of minutes.

Mia and Colton were so relieved when Almira confirmed their suspicion. Colton couldn't be happier that he was going to be a father. He asked a couple of questions as to the baby and Mia's health which Almira was more than happy to give answers to.

She wrote out Mia's prescriptions and handed them to her. She was given a date for her next appointment where they would be able to hear the baby's heartbeat.

The soon-to-be parents thanked Almira, then took their leave. They stopped by the pharmacy to get Mia's prescription after which they exited the hospital.

"It's official! Signed, sealed, and confirmed by the Doctor." Colton said, the moment they got into the car."

"Mia nodded with smiles all over her face.

"I now understand why Sammie was telling me to be extra protective of you yesterday."

Mia chuckled. "She said so?"

Colton nodded. "I felt there was something more to her statement but she accused me of being an overthinker."

Mia laughed. "That's Sammy for you"

Colton leaned over, sneaked his hand under Mia's top, and placed his hand on her bare belly. He chuckled with a small smile. "I'll be doing this so much. I hope you don't mind." He slightly caressed her abdomen area in a circular motion.

"I don't mind, baby. You're free to make contact with our child as much as you want." She placed a kiss on his lips.

"I know we just literally started our lives together but I want to promise you that this baby won't hinder us from having the time of our lives. I'm so grateful and excited for this little family and from now on, you both have become my number one priority. I promise to love, cherish and protect you and our baby." Colton sighed. "I have no words to even describe how I feel. I'm so grateful for your presence in my life, Mia."

Colton's hand was still on her belly so she placed her hand on top of his. "You and this cutie mean the world to me and I promise to be the best wife to you and the best mommy to our Royal baby. I love you so much, Colton." Mia said, connecting her lips to his own for one of the most passionate kisses they've ever had.

Even though the glass of Colton's vehicle was tinted, it took a lot of self-control for the horny parents-to-be not to make love in the car.
