Seeing that it was almost closing hour, Mia started rounding up with work. Her attention was divided when her phone buzzed on the table beside her. A smile crept to her lips when she came face to face with the caller ID.
"Miss me?" She said to the other side the moment she answered the call.
"If I have my way, I would bribe you to come work for me."
"Oh really? I don't remember anyone offering me a job opportunity. Perhaps I might consider it if the benefits are more than my present job."
"For real?" Colton asked hopefully,
"Maybe!" Mia smiled.
"Don't tease me, Mia. I'm already liking the idea of you working with me here. The benefits are not a problem. I would do anything to see your face 24/7."
Mia chuckled. "Thanks for the offer but I think I'll pass. The both of us will probably not get any work done if we are in the same building."
"Oh, you mean you won't be able to get your eyes and hands off me?" Colton's teasing voice came through.
Mia chuckled. "See who's talking? The person who looks at me as if I'm his favorite snack."
"Of course you're my favorite snack as well as my favorite human so I'm meant to always look at you with so much love."
"Thank you for all that you do for me, Colton. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me."
"I can say the same about you. Thank you for being my woman. I don't even want to begin to imagine how my life would be without you in it. I love you so much, Mia."
"I love you more, babes. Getting ready to leave work?" She asked him, based on what he told her earlier.
"Yeah, that's why I called. Unfortunately, I have to stay back for a few hours."
"Anything the matter?" Mia asked, concerned.
"No dear. I have some work-related matters to attend to. I'll be leaving the office at the latest by 7. Those guys are done transferring your stuff to my apartment. You can always head over to my place and get settled. I'll be with you as soon as I'm done here."
"The securities are aware of my woman moving in with me so you will be granted easy access. The passcode is the combination of your last name and date of birth."
"My last name and date of birth?" Mia whispered, wondering why he used such a combination.
"Yes!" Colton answered, proudly. "I had to change the passcode after Natty's scandal so I ended up using a code that is not only special to me but one that will be easy for us to remember."
"Babe, I'm thrilled about you using my name and date of birth but don't you think it's a bit risky?"
"What do you mean?" Colton couldn't help but ask.
"People who know you well know I mean a lot to you. If they want to break in, they will try a couple of combinations, including things relating to me."
"No one is ever going to break in, Mia. Besides, the passcode will be updated when I get home. It will register our fingerprints and voice. so even if a third party knows the code, it's still not useful to him or her."
"Also, I think you're only being paranoid. No one will ever guess that passcode right. How many people are aware of your last name?"
"You're right. Almost everyone knows me as Mia Edwards. I should be surprised you know my last name too but I'm not. Turns out, you're beyond obsessed with me."
Colton chuckled, "You call that obsessed? Wait till you get to the penthouse."
"Colton" she groaned. "What did you do?"
"You will see for yourself, my love."
"You're making me nervous." She mumbled.
'Don't be. You will love it." Colt encouraged.
"If you say so. Make sure you hurry up and come home to me."
"Sure, babe. You want me to get anything on my way back?" He asked.
"I don't know for now if I'll need anything. I'll let you know when I get home."
"It feels so good to hear you call my penthouse your home. Thanks for moving in with me. I promise you won't regret it."
"I know I won't. Thanks for accommodating me not only in your home but also in your heart. I love you, Colton."
"I love you more darling. See you soon!" He ended the call.

Mia exited her office just a few minutes past 5 pm, She got into her car and drove towards her new home. In about twenty minutes, she arrived at the multibillion-dollar building. As far as she knew, Colt owned the building. He occupied the top floor and rented out the others.
She had no idea how the securities recognized her but they did and directed her to the parking space meant for her. They were polite to her and of course, she was given easy access to the building.
Coming out of the elevator, Mia approached the door, punched in her last name along with her date of birth and voila, the door
opened itself.
Stepping in, the only thing she needed to do was to press a button on the wall next to the exit. Doing that, the door closed itself.
A smile crept to Mia's lips as she took in her surroundings. The penthouse looked really different as opposed to the last time she was there. It was even more beautiful and it had this amazing homey feeling.
Mia chuckled when she saw a big portrait of herself on the wall. She took slow steps there to admire the beautiful painting. To say she was blown away with the painting would be an understatement. It was very beautiful. It almost looked like it belonged to the Gallery or a museum because of its quality. It was indeed very precious.
Mia's smile got bigger when she sighted three other framed pictures on the wall, in different parts of the living room. They were cozy pictures of herself and Colton in Sicily.
After spending forever admiring them, her heart melted when she saw a big bouquet of red roses on the center table in the living room. She had no idea how she missed that in the first place. Perhaps, because the painting on the wall got her attention first.
Placing her handbag on the couch, Mia reached for the roses on the table. She was about to pick it up when she noticed a note in the middle so she picked up the note instead.
"Welcome home, my love." She couldn't help with the blush that crept to her lips. Heaven knows she would do anything to get handwritten notes from Colton every day.
Putting the note aside, She picked up the roses, cradled them like a baby, and spent a couple of seconds inhaling the wonderful smell.
Then she proceeded to the kitchen to put them in a vase. Mia was about to go back to the living room when she decided to check around to see if there was anything at home. Ingredients she could use to make dinner.
Surprisingly, the fridge and pantry were full.
Mia chuckled. Colton was really ready for her arrival. She decided to cook something simple for dinner so she brought out the ingredients, then exited the kitchen.
