"Can we see them? Pleaseee?" She gave him a puppy dog face.
"I was thinking of presenting them to you after dinner but it's fine if you want to see them now."
Colton intertwined his hand with hers and led her to the living room where his luggage was.
There were two gift bags comfortably seated on the luggage box. Colton reached for one of them and handed it to Mia. "That's for our baby"
She smiled at him before digging in to see what he got for their little bean.
Mia brought out a beautiful transparent box from the bag. Because the medium-sized box was clear in nature, Mia could see everything that was in it without opening it. The items she saw made her smile really hard.
The cutest tiny little unisex booties she had ever seen. It came with a matching fancy pacifier, a unisex doll, and a onesie.
"Babe, this is beautiful!" Mia wanted to feel the items so bad so she went ahead to open the box and carefully checked them out one after the other.
"These gifts made my day. Thank you. Our little bunny says 'Thank you' too!" She tiptoed and kissed his lips.
"No need to thank me, sweets. It's my duty to provide you both with everything and I promise to always put a smile on you all's faces."
Mia nodded, feeling forever grateful.
Colton reached for the other gift bag and handed it to her.
It turned out to be Christian Louboutin boots. The one from the latest collection that Mia was secretly eyeing while doing some online shopping before Colton traveled. She could have ordered it herself but she hadn't gotten to the point where she was comfortable spending so much on one item. Even though she could have just ordered it with Colton's credit card.
"You saw me that night!" She blushed in embarrassment.
"Of course I did. By the look in your eyes, you wanted it so much but you didn't buy it because of the price."
"$23,000 is a lot of money, Colt." She whispered.
"And I make that amount every twenty minutes. Sometimes, less than that!"
Mia smiled in embarrassment. "I'm not going to discuss your net worth or salary with you. The point is that you bought the boots for me and I love you for that."
She tiptoed and kissed him, purposely sucking on his lower lip. Mia giggled and pulled away before Colton could deepen the kiss.
She took out the luxurious boots from its package and admired them. It was even more beautiful in person than the pictures she saw online. It was her size and she had no doubt it would fit her perfectly.
Once she was done checking them out, She put them back in the package and placed both gift bags on the couch.
"Ready to eat?" He asked and she nodded immediately.
The Lovebirds made their way to the dining room. They set up the table together. Mia served the food while Colton served them apple juice.
Settling down, Mia spoke, "you know you don't have to take juice with me every time we eat."
Colton took his seat too.
"You can always have your wine," She added.
He shook his head.
"Come on, babes. I appreciate that you're doing this so I won't feel left out on my pregnancy journey. But you really don't have to. Feel free to have some wine whenever you want to. Even after I give birth, I won't bounce back to alcohol immediately because I'll be breastfeeding our baby. So, just enjoy yourself, darling. Drink on my behalf."
Colton nodded. "I'll think about it"
"Mom came to see me yesterday." Mia started a conversation when they were almost done with their delicious meal.
"She did?!" Colton said, surprised
"Yes. She came with Ashley. They came to keep me company and we eventually went out for a Girls' time. I'm glad they came over. We had fun."
"I'm happy you all had fun. So you and mom are now BFF, hun?" Colt smiled.
"Something like that. She was so protective of me yesterday and we had a mother-daughter talk."
"Oh, she was thrilled to see my small bump. You're right. Your mom is an amazing person. I'm so grateful to have her as a mother figure."
Colton nodded. "I couldn't be happier that you both are getting along."
"Same here. I'm blessed to be part of a very wonderful family."
"By the way, Hailey came to see me yesterday evening. We talked. Apparently, I had called Enoch earlier and he told me the same thing you told him. Hailey isn't giving him the opportunity to explain himself."
"Turns out that Hailey did not believe nothing had happened between Enoch and his Boss. She once saw a text on his phone and the content indicated that they spent the night together."
"But I was able to defend Enoch a little and pleaded with her to hear me out. She promised she would do that"
Mia sighed, putting down her fork beside her almost empty plate. "Hailey has always been there for me. If not that she was used to talking sense into my head, you and I might not be here today. I just want things to go well for her too."
Colton reached for Mia's hand that was on the table and gave it a light squeeze. "This is just a phase in Hailey and Enoch's life. I believe in what they feel for each other. I have faith that they will be back together. Enoch has realized his mistakes and he's ready to do anything to get his Girl back."
"It's true that Enoch and Hailey are very close to our hearts but this is something they have to figure out themselves. As their good friends, the most we can do is to be there for them in terms of advice."
"We've done our part and it's time for them to do their part. But I believe they will be back together soon."
Mia nodded. She felt better after hearing Colton's assurance.

Monday Evening......(7:19 pm)
Colton was in his office, going over the last files for the day when he heard someone badge in.
Knowing it could only be his younger brother, he raised his head and was about to lash out at him but Colton ended up swallowing his words when he saw the worried look on Caleb's face.
At that moment, Colt knew that something was wrong. You hardly see Caleb with a sad or worried expression and when that occurs, it only meant that something had happened.
Colton rose to his feet.
"Where the hell did you put your phone? Everyone has been trying to reach you!" Caleb scolded.
"Everyone?" Colton frowned, searching for his phone on the desk.
"Yes!!! I got a call from Hailey some minutes ago! Mia had an accident. She has been rushed to the family hospital"
"What??????" Colton couldn't believe what he heard. His heart started beating four times faster than usual.
