Melody
"Why don't we make memories?"
I smiled and hugged him for being able to bring the words out of my mouth.
I want to make memories. Blissful memories.
I have always wanted to have a good memory of Mallory to last my whole life, but no matter how hard I tried all I got was hateful memories.
Even though I was loved by my mother and brothers, I had to live with mockery and a lot of other things, but right now, I want to rewrite all of that.
I want to wipe my head off the bad memories and create new and beautiful ones with Dorian.
"Are you ready?" He asked and opened his hand for me to hold.
"I am," I giggled in my response.
I was excited.
Dorian squeezed my hand and sent a smile my way. I giggled like a teenager as he kissed my hand.
We toured the palace and I showed him around the place. In every place we went, Dorian made sure to make a romantic comment or gesture, making me laugh my heart out.
He picked a pebble and wrote our names on the walls of every part of the palace where we visited to mark our presence there.
I have never felt so happy in my life as I feel right now with Dorian.
"Want some?" He pointed at a berry tree.
That tree had my favourite fruit. However, in all my years of visiting the palace, I never got to taste it because back then no one wanted to help me get it.
They all mocked and looked down on me. Even the palace maids mocked my existence. They never gave me an iota of respect and I never told Sophia because I was ashamed.
"Have it," I snapped out of my thoughts as Dorian placed several berries in my hand. I looked at the berries and couldn’t help my tears. For so long, I have always wanted this and Dorian has given me so many even without asking.
I looked up at the sky and said a silent thank you to the moon goddess for making Dorian my mate.
“What happened, Mel?” He touched my tears and a low growl escaped his lips. “Why do you have tears in your eyes?”
I smiled and went into his arms again, hugging him as if my life depended on it.
“I love you,” I finally said the word.
My eyes widened as I realized what I had said. Those were the words of my heart.
Dorian’s eyes widened, but he was back to himself in an instant and he studied me to be sure that I meant the word that I spoke. He breathed through his mouth and feigned fainting. He placed his head on my shoulder and sighed, “Now, I’m hooked.”
I laughed at his comment and he lifted me suddenly and ran around the garden. He was screaming as he ran, “Melody loves me.”
I can’t believe he was so happy just because I said I loved him.
I have always loved Dorian, but not romantically. However, what I feel for him now is a lot more than I ever felt before. I am certain now that I’m in love with Dorian. I want to be with him. I want to spend the rest of my life with him.
“Stop it,” I covered his mouth and stopped screaming lest he wakes everyone in the palace.
Though the palace is huge and we were far away in the garden, everyone around here is a werewolf with superb hearing ability.
“I want to scream out loud. I want to tell the universe that you’re mine.”
“I’m yours, Dorian. The universe knows this. The moon goddess has paired us and our bond shall last till eternity.”
“Till eternity,” he repeated. Immediately engulfing me in a tight hug.
He was happy.
His joy was displayed all over his face. I was glad that he was so happy because of me. The man has been nothing but good to me and my kids. I have always thought of what to do to bring a smile to his face. Who would have thought that I’d achieve that just by confessing my feelings? I have always confused my feelings for Dorian with what I feel for Derek.
However, the heart wants what it wants and there's no denying that Dorian is who my heart wants.
I have no feelings left for Derek, and if there ever is any, then it’s loathing. Pure hatred.
Joanne was jumping with joy in my head. She was so happy that she was begging to be let out. Dorian looked at me and smiled.
“You left your mind open, Mel. I can hear everything.”
“Really? So he can listen to my mind now?”
“And you, mine” he chuckled.
“What?” My eyes widened. “Did I say that out loud?”
“No, you didn’t,” His voice was back again in my head. “But you haven’t closed your mind yet.”
Close my mind? Is that even possible?
“How do I do that?”
Dorian read the confusion on my face and took my hand. “It’s easy. Just think about it and it's done.”
I didn’t have to say the word, I thought of not letting Dorian hear my mind and boo, I felt it close. It was like a door was suddenly shut.
“You did it!” he kissed my cheek.
I never knew that being a werewolf had so many perks to it.
“Now let's have real fun.”
Dorian took my hand and suddenly ran forward, pulling me along with him.
“At the count of three,” he screamed and I already understood what he meant.
“One,” We both counted in unison.
“Two,” We tightened our hold on each other’s hand.
“Three,” we were immediately replaced by our wolves.
Joanne was at the top of the world to finally meet her mate; Dorian’s wolf.
‘Hi, I’m Joanne,’ she jumped straight to the introduction.
‘And I’m Phillip.’
Still in our wolves, we ran around the garden, playing games and having fun. We took a dip in the small lake in the garden. We went several miles and made sure to create lovely memories of ourselves right there in Mallory Palace. The same place where I had the worst memories.
Now there was just one word ringing in my head, ‘Mating’
