Derek
Is that Melody?
Did she just shift?
I mean, Melody was standing here a few minutes ago and now there's this snow white wolf in her place.
She can't possibly be the wolf I see here right now can she?
Melody could be anything and everything, but she can never be a wolf.
How is that possible?
I believed it when Miranda said she's an enchantress. I also believed it when Maximus said she was a witch but I will never accept that she's a wolf and not just any wolf, she got the white wolf.
The white wolf which everyone believes that they only exist in stories.
Could this also be one of her magics?
As much as I would love to believe that this was done by magic, I know it isn't because no witch can conjure a white wolf.
Oh goddess.
How did Melody get so blessed?
I couldn't understand how things took such a turn. I tried to think back to everything that happened since she got back and I found my answers.
I was drawn to Melody because I was her mate. I couldn't smell her back then because her wolf was inert before. Our bonds broke when she rejected me, but when she got her wolf the bond was reconnected as her wolf wasn't present when she rejected me.
This explains why I couldn't stay away from her.
Her wolf was awakened because I pushed her to the edge before.
Everything came settling in and I understood things better. Our bonds were rekindled when she got her wolf and she got her wolf so late because it's the white wolf. I know now for sure that Melody and I were destined for each other.
We belong together.
I stared in awe at the beautiful wolf before me and I noticed that everyone was also surprised as I am.
The viscount was more surprised because he could barely look away. His mouth was agape as he stared at Melody's wolf.
I don't blame the man, he's got another huge surprise in less than six hours.
He got the first surprise when.....
~Few hours earlier~
Maximus threatened Melody to stay back and marry me or spend the rest of her life in the dungeon.
However, Melody refused to cower away like he assumed. She challenged him and this drove the Viscount nut, but still he tried to give her another chance.
“Don’t test me, Melody, or the result will be disastrous.” he barked.
Instead of trembling or begging to be saved as expected, Melody countered, "Do not test me, father, or the result will be catastrophic."
I didn't want to be seen as this was supposed to be their private matter. It was supposed to be between the family, so I stayed hidden.
"You think you can handle things because you have witchcraft? Or because you have this slimy Alpha with you?"
By slimy Alpha, I bet the viscount was referring to Dorian.
Really? Slimy?
Of all the things he could use in qualifying Dorian, he chose slimy.
Like, what the hell?
Dorian didn't say a word nor respond to Maximus. He was focused on the kids.
He kept checking Aaron's body for hidden wounds and they were chatting. I was lost in the world, peeking desperately at my own pups.
I felt like hugging them, but I knew that that was impossible. They won't come anywhere close to me.
"So tell me," I was snapped back to Melody and the viscount as he asked for her decision. "What have you chosen?"
Melody stood up and looked at Dorian. She had a defeated look on her face as she stared at her pups like she was about to give up.
I thought she was to give up until I heard her whisper, "Try as much as you want, father, but my answer remains the same."
"Which is?" The viscount asked scornfully.
"I will not stay back. I will not give my pups up and I will not marry Derek," She wrinkled her face in disgust.
"I'd rather get married to a horse than be with Derek."
My head snapped at that.
Did she really mean that?
She said she'd Marry a horse than get married to me.
Really?
Am I that bad of a choice?
"How dare you say that about the king?!" Maximus screamed, but before he could do anything to Melody, Miranda jumped in.
I was busy making sure that I don't get caught eavesdropping, I didn't know when she got in until she slapped Melody.
"Do not ridicule my fiance," Miranda screeched.
Melody didn't hesitate to retaliate. She moved at the speed of light.
"I'd let you get away with hurting me before, but never again," she snorted.
Miranda tried to fight back, but Melody gave no room for that. She dealt Miranda several slaps that I lost count.
Miranda became mad with anger and she twisted Melody's hand. I expected her to scream or shout, but she turned and twisted herself in a strange way. I heard a loud crack and I could swear that it was Melody's hand.
However, amidst the turning and fights, I didn't see what happened until Melody stepped away and Miranda fell down flat with both her hands twisted in strange directions.
The viscount was stunned to see Melody defeat, Miranda in a not so serious battle. He couldn't stop looking at Miranda.
I also couldn't stop wondering how she did that.
She should have been the one with the broken arm, how did Miranda get the broken bones instead?
The fight became heated when Miranda's guard tried to attack Melody, but was countered by Dorian and the pups.
Every attack sent to them was neutralised before it hit them, leaving the viscount shamed.
He couldn't attack Melody as father clearly warned him agai that. He wanted to manipulate and also failed at that.
He walked away, but stopped after walking few steps.
"If you've decided to leave, fine." He turned to show the devilish smirk on his face. "But keep in mind that you won't be taking the princes because they belong here only."
