Pregnant and Rejected: His Wolfless Mate

Chapter 68

Ch. 68 / 111 Apr 02, 2026

Derek

"Keep in mind that you won't be taking the princes because they belong here only."

That line sounds cliche but I kinda like it. My sons only belong with me and there's no way I'm letting them get taken from me.

As much as I would love to disagree with the viscount for picking on Melody, I couldn't, because this is my cue.

This is the part where I have to step in and make my presence known.

I have to announce my decision to Melody and let her know what her choices are, and if you ask me, I think Viscount's offer is a fair deal. Yet, I wonder why Melody wouldn't just take it.

She's being so stubborn for nought.

"The Princes?" Melody scoffed. "I don't remember being familiar with any Prince," She shrugged. "So why would I want to leave with any?"

Now, that's a terrible taunt.

What does she mean by that?

"Thumbs up to whoever your teacher is, but I will be more than happy to show you who the master is."

The viscount was back to fury mode and this time, his fury is justified. After all, he is only carrying out the king's orders.

I ordered him to do all he can but make sure that Melody stays back, and since the twins are her bottom line, she will stay back if threatened.

However, what we never expected was her bold and careless side.

She doesn't care what we do.

"I am my own master, dear father," She tied her hair into a ponytail, giving me a clear view of her slender neck.

I found myself sinking into the pit of her love.

I want Melody, no doubt.

"Do not try to leave with the pups," Viscount stated in a tone of finality.

"I go where momma goes," Giovanni spoke first and was immediately supported by Aaron. "I don't want to be here."

"Oh, I think it's settled then," Dorian said before picking up the boys.

He was playing the role of a father to them well enough that I couldn't help feeling jealous and pissed.

The viscount said nothing afterwards. He stomped out of the room, leaving the family to have their time.

I waited until the viscount was out of the room to approach him, but I also wanted to be sure that Miranda wouldn't create more problems. She was probably finding her defeat unbelievable.

Well, I am too and I bet the Viscount doesn't have it less than us. We've all gotten our fair share of surprises.

I mean, Miranda got battered. First, by a bunch of five years old and now by Wolfless Melody. It really is an insult to her entire dynasty.

Unwilling to accede defeat, Miranda acted like she was slowly getting off the ground, but she suddenly grabbed Aaron.

Oh, not the boy again.

He was attacked and injured by Maximus, an act I would never forgive. Now, it's Miranda.

What does she plan to do with Aaron?

If Miranda hurts as much as a strand of hair on my son, I will send her to the jaws of death. She won't realize what hit her until she's buried underground.

"You're so strong aren't you?"

I couldn't tell who Miranda was referring to. Was it Aaron? or is it Melody? or all of them?

I was confused.

I expected Melody to flair and rage, but she was calm and so was Dorian. Neither of them reacted to the situation.

They behaved like it was normal for Miranda to hold the boy hostage, like they calculated Miranda's move and they knew that she would do something like that.

"You want to show off your witchcraft, don't you?" Miranda let out a sinister laugh. "Let's see what you do now."

I was pissed from where I was. I could barely hold myself from barging in to attack Miranda. But a tiny part of me wanted to see how Melody handles the situation.

I wanted to see if she can remain so calm when her pup is in danger.

"I don't practice witchcraft," Melody snorted. "And my son can handle himself from miscreants like you."

Woah, that was huge.

I'm loving this transformation. Melody's savagery never ceases to amaze me. She's cool and I'm loving it.

However, what I found amazing was how Aaron drugged his paws into Miranda's waist so swiftly.

I didn't see that coming nor was I expecting him to be smart enough to know where to attack to render his captor weak.

His move was perfect and smooth.

Miranda screamed and the boy walked free from her as she grabbed her wounded waist.

"And that's for calling my momma a witch." He hissed, before crossing over to Dorian's side.

Shamefully, Miranda got up and dragged her miserable self out of the room, leaving Melody and the pups.

I watched from afar as they spoke and arranged for their departure.

So, Melody plans to leave after all.

She wasn't bluffing when she said she would leave and nothing would stop her. That won't happen as I will stop at nothing to meet her with me. She belongs only by my side.

After listening, to their exfil plans. I went after the viscount. We share the same interest and should work together.

"Viscount Maximus," I called after walking a few metres from there.

He turned, surprised to see me behind him.

"I see you visited Melody," I asked, pretending as if I didn't know what he said to her.

"I was only doing what is best for the kingdom," he replied.

Who is he kidding?

Was he doing what is best for the kingdom or does he hate Melody so much that he couldn't wait to get rid of her?

I would love to find out why the viscount despises Melody so much, but before that, I'll have to make sure that she stays close.

"Hmm," I replied with a nod. "What if I tell you what their plan is?"
