Her Rejection, His regret

Fiesty She-wolf

Ch. 36 / 64 Feb 16, 2026

Miller’s POV

I watched Isla leave the room and wished so badly that she was mine.

I could not get her out of my head and wished that things were different, but they were not different at all, and I knew that I had to just live with it now.

She belonged to Max now and I needed them both in board if I wanted my pack to be saved. I wasn't the best alpha but that was going to change.

Mora had broken me by taking away my firstborn and running off with that so called mate of hers.

Cora held my hand and squeezed it firmly, as if reading my mind and giving me reasurance.

My beta came back into the room and looked slightly relieved to see me with Cora.

She smiled up at me as I stood up to talk to my beta.

“He's still out for the count.” he said with a nod and i noticed the smile wipe off Cora’s face.

It was clear to me that it pained her to know that arse of an animal was her own flesh and blood. He was a monster.

“He cannot know about my mother,” she said with a glum look and twiddled her thumbs.

“Cora, listen to me.” I went over and knelt in front of her. Placing my finger under her chin so she had no choice but to look at me.

“Your father will not know anything about your mother, you have my word,” I promised her, and I meant it. I did not want her to worry anymore.

This girl had been through enough, as had Isla.

It was time I put things right.

“We should get out of here. We need to make sure he is far away from here before he starts to wake up. He is going to be so mad.” my beta suddenly said, and I could not hide my chuckle.

He deserved to feel the pain and misery that he put others through. His daughter should not be afraid of him, and his own son had done a runner.

I pushed Mora and Daniel to the back of my mind because I did not want to break again. I needed to be strong right now.

“Ok, let's go.” Cora slipped off the bed and put on her shoes. I snaked my arm around her waist much to the surprise of my beta, but he did not question my actions and my lips formed into a smile as I pushed open the door to see Isla walking straight towards us.

She did not look happy, not one bit.

Cora stiffened and pushed my arm away from her and ran over to her sister.

“What was that all about?” my beta whispered to me as we followed the girls down the corridor.

“Nothing.” I shrugged my shoulders innocently and held open the door for them.

Isla shot me a look and I could not help but send her a wink in response.

She growled and that made me smile even more. She was one feisty she-wolf.
