Miller’s POV
“What are you talking about? What is going on?” I growled with anger as Max shoved a glass of something in my face. It burnt like hell and caused me to fall helplessly to the ground. The next thing that I knew I was being forced into a chair and bound by a heavy rope. My body was weak and shaky.
What was happening to me?
I looked across to Daniel for an answer, but he ignored any eye contact with me and instead held a smug look on his face. I realised that he had tricked me. How could he do that to me? Why would he want to do that to me? It was not my fault that Mora had lied to the pair of us. Should we not be working together instead of against each other? As for Max, well he was obviously mad and wanted revenge for me planning to kick him out of the picture.
If Daniel had not opened his mouth, then none of this would have happened and I would be on top form. Max would not have stood a chance if he had not been given the heads up. I growled at Daniel which only caused him to snap his eyes to me and smile.
“You think that the likes of you can beat me? The strongest Lycan king against a pathetic and weak Sorry excuse of an alpha?” Max circled around me snarling and snapping his teeth at me as his eyes glazed over warning that his wolf would take over any moment.
I gulped and wondered if I had got myself in too deep.
Daniel chuckled at me for looking so ridiculously uncomfortable.
He wound the rope tighter around my body and I winced.
“I have no idea what you are talking about.” I denied every part of these accusations and glared at Daniel.
The traitor.
He should be the one being questioned not me.
Max roared with laughter and then he bought his face right into mine.
“Do not take me for a fool. Do you think I don’t know what you are all about? Did you honestly believe that Isla would want you back of this? She is too good for you.” Max laughed and poked a finger to my forehead causing me to growl slightly.
I wanted to shift but I could not. He had me right where he wanted me.
“Isla, she is yours King Lycan. I would not try to do such a thing.” I lied and he slapped me across the cheek, leaving them burning red.
“Max don’t kill me. I have my Pembroke to think about.” I started to plead with him.
If I could get him to listen, then maybe might let me go and all this could be forgotten, but the look on his face said otherwise.
“Do you really think we’re that stupid?” Daniel snorted with laughter, shaking his head.
This was his fault. He has betrayed my trust. I thought he was on my side.
I growled at him, which only caused him to laugh harder at me.
Trying my best to shake this rope of my body only made me wince in pain. Max stood aside with a huge smirk on his face.
“Max I’m sorry please forgive me I’ll go, and I will never come back.” I begged him, knowing how pathetic I must look at feeling I had no other choice. I did not want to die.
He looked for for for a moment as he paused and stroked his chin. I wondered if I’d got through to him.
“Don’t listen to him max. He’s a fool and deserves everything he got, especially after how he treated my sister and my mate.”
“I want him dead; the alpha role of Pembroke would be better suited to someone loyal like myself. They will not want him to continue as their alpha. He killed his beta without a fair trial.” Daniel started to say he paced around me, his hands behind his back and eyes fixated on my way.
Glancing over at max, he pointed at me accusingly. There was so much hatred in his eyes, and that’s when I realised, he had wanted this. He wanted to be the alpha of my pack.
Did he really believe that they would want him to be the leader.
Of course, my pack would be devastated at the loss of my better, but they would understand my reasons for why I did what I did. He had slept with my Luna of course I would be mad when they found out about this. I know that Mora could not go back. She would be too ashamed of herself and her actions. I know full well that she would not want anyone of the pack to know what she had done. That bitch will be long gone by now.
“I want nothing more than to kill you right here right now. But that would make me just as bad as you.” Max finally said, and I could not help, but breath a sigh of relief.
“However, do not think that I will be foolish enough to free you.” he continued to say much to my dismay. I have no idea what that meant. What was he planning to do with me? I feel sick with worry would I ever see the taillight again? What are you going to shove me in with Daniels father?
As my eyes lowered to the ground, I I felt an unexpected punch to the side of my face, causing me to scream out loudly and fall, still sitting tied to the chair. The sound of Daniel, laughing made me mad I wanted my wolf to come forward, but there was no sign of him. Max clearly knew what he was doing. He was cleverer than I had given credit for.
“You are going to regret everything that you have ever done.” Max seethed angrily and bought his head closer to mine before head butting me so hard that I yelled out in pain.
The next thing that I knew everything was black.
