Miller’s POV
I was free of her shit.
She was welcome to Daniel, and he was more than welcome to her.
“I never meant a damn thing to you, did I?” Mora was standing in front of me eyes blazing and hands on her hips.
I allowed myself to look straight back at her.
Nothing.
I felt nothing for her.
Not anymore.
“Daniel, you are free to be with your mate and I truly do wish you all the absolute best. You are going to need a lot of good luck to put up with her.” I smirked at Daniel and raised my eyebrows at a very cross looking Mora.
She was fuming.
Daniel should have rejected her, the same way that that Isla had rejected me. Why should she get to be happy?
It was quite clear to me, that she blinded him. She certainly had him wrapped tightly around her little finger.
I on the other hand was free of her at last.
I could not help but laugh out loud.
Daniel inched towards me, bearing his canines and groing angrily.
That was when Max jumped in between us, preventing any fight from breaking out.
“Is it this how an alpha should behave? Is it worth living your life? Focusing on all the wrongs? Yes, none of us are perfect and we all done some wrong. In our lives. Perhaps now is the time to make those wrongs into rights. Let’s work together as a team we don’t need to fight, do you agree?”
I pause for a moment, thinking about what he just said. As much as I hate to admit it, he is right is this worth all this fighting and aggro we could all work together as a team we don’t have to be enemies. Taking a second or two, my eyes shift to Isla and Cora, they’re both standing watching in silence, Isla immediately looks away from me, as if not one thing for me to know she was looking. I couldn’t help, but wonder what she was thinking, or feeling right now Daniel backed off and swung an arm around more shoulders. She looked at me very smug, which made me chuckle, did you really think I was bothered about her., did you really think I was bothered about her.
Daniel was more than welcome to her.
“So, what do we think, are we in agreement?” He wanted to know.
“What about him?” Isla finally spoke up. I already knew who she was talking about her father or fake father. Should I say. It was him who had wanted this to happen. He was nothing more than a selfish, greedy waste of space. He didn’t care about anyone, but himself not even his own family. And now he was gonna suffer for it. I turned back to max and nodded my head that I agreed.
“Isla, come with me. Let me explain.” Max reached out his hand to her and she scowled.
“Have you killed him?” she clenched her teeth, and I was surprised she was behaving since I would have thought that she would be happy that he was out of the way. Or I was wrong, who knows. Max frowned at her and shook his head.
“What are you talking about? Of course, I have not killed him. Why would you think such rubbish?” Max thundered but Isla did not flinch at the words of her lycan king. She was a tough cookie.
“Whar about all that blood?” Cora started to weep like a baby which just caused Isla to roll her eyes in a state of irritation.
“He's not dead.” Max said.
Isla glared at me and let out a growl.
“No, he's not dead. It's just merely a potion to stop him from remembering what he has done. He will have no memory of any of this.” Daniel piped up.
“I need to leave.” Cora covered her mouth and ran outside to be sick. I was going to go after her, but Isla was already out the door.
“Just for the record, Miller. That baby is mine.” Daniel swore at me, and I growled in response.
“We will see.”
