As soon as the pack doctor discharged me from the pack hospital, I felt a ton better. I did not particularly like being in those places and luckily for me as I was a strong warrior, I healed quickly.
As much as I loved being in this pack, I wanted to be with my mate and if that meant moving with him for a fresh start then so be it.
I just needed to clear some things up first.
Me and Max had gone upstairs to the bedroom where he ran me a lovely hot warm bubble bath.
Max had said that he needed to go back and tend to some important business. I didn’t even bother to ask what sort of business that he meant.
My mother and Ed wanted to see me anyway, which was fine because they had some explaining to do anyway.
I had a lot of unanswered questions running through my head. I really felt like my head was gonna explode it was so hard to process.
As I walked out of the bedroom that Max had left me in, I walked down the stair well and greeted a few pack members who were walking past me.
Then I saw my brother.
Daniel sauntered overlooking like he was about to burst with pride and happiness. It was so nice to see that he was smiling and that he was ok but the second that I saw the bundle in his arms, I just could not contain myself. That baby was nothing like Daniel.
“Daniel, are you sure that baby is yours? Looks nothing like you.” I raised my eyebrows and then spotted Mora nit far behind him.
Well, of course she would be in his shadow. She was always there but could not get away from the girl.
Daniel glanced at me horrified that I could even suggest such a thing.
I was not saying it out of spite or anything, but the baby genuinely did not look anything like my brother.
“What is the problem?” Mora wrapped her arms around Daniel and stroked the baby's cheek lovingly.
I hated her so much.
Why should she get such a successful conclusion when she had destroyed my life to get what she had wanted and now she was trying to convince my brother that her baby was his.
That baby was Miller all over and if my brother could not see that then he was certainly a lot dumber than I could ever have imagined him to be.
“I have to go.” I excused myself from them and made my way up to where Ed and my mother would be waiting for me.
Max would be back soon, so I did not have much time.
“Ah, Isla. May I please have a quick word?” Mora tapped me on the shoulder causing me to spin around and growl lowly. I did not like to be touched and especially not by her.
“What do you want?” I clenched my fists and tried to rein Cleo back in so she could not push me back to take control.
She wanted Mora’s blood, and I was not going to let Mora get away with it that easily.
Cleo howled to show she was not impressed by my decision, but it was just tough luck really.
“What do you want?” I scowled and tapped my foot impatiently. I had to be somewhere, and she was just wasting my time.
“I love Daniel, but please. Don't ruin it for me. I need to be with him. He will keep me and my baby safe. Please.” she grabbed my arm and squeezed it tightly. She looked desperate but all I felt was disgust.
“Get off me you lunatic.” I shoved her away from me and she fell into the mud. She started to cry hysterically, and Daniel came running over having handed the baby to one of the omegas.
He glared at me and shook his head in disappointment.
“Isla, what have you done?” he scooped her pathetic arse up and she stomped her feet childishly.
“She grabbed me, and I pushed her away. That baby isn't even yours.” I tried to explain to him, but he was nor listening.
“Isla, my office now.” I heard Ed roar from up the steps, and I wanted to yell that it wasn't my fault, but something told me not to bother.
The smug look on Moras's face said it all. She was pure evil.
“Fine!” I immediately did as Ed ordered since he was the alpha of this pack, and I had no choice but to listen to him.
When I entered the office, he was sat waiting for me and looked furious with me and I noticed my mother sat beside him looking extremely glum.
None of this was my fault!
