Miller’s POV
“You’re not the father. None of you two are.” Mora said shamefully. Those words rang on my head continuously.
That meant that she had been with someone else.
Cora was furious for her brother’s devastation, but I noticed from the corner of my eye how she struggled to maintain her emotions.
“She’s lying.” Isla shouted with a scoff of disgust and crossed her arms over her chest.
“Mora, what are you doing?” I heard my beta pipe up but thought nothing of it since he was my best friend and would have always had my back no matter what.
My eyes turned back to my now ex mate.
She was nothing more than a Hoare.
“Mora, what are you talking about? That is our baby. You are mine. My mate.” Daniel stepped to her and held her to his chest, he started to caress her cheek.
She looked up at him and a tear fell from her eyes.
“I am so sorry, Daniel. Please forgive me. It was just the one time, and I never meant it to happen.” She sobbed into him, and he held her so tightly that I wanted to rip them both apart.
My blood was boiling.
A low rumble sounded from my chest.
“If not me or him, then who is the father of that pup?” I clenched my fist into a ball of fury.
She did not answer me which only made my anger get even worse. She should know not to be so ignorant around me. Yet here she was playing dumb and batting her eyelids like she and done nothing wrong at all.
“Who is it?” I demanded to know, instantly going to Mora, and grabbing her by the throat. Pinning her up against the wall so she kicked her feet in fear as her eyes almost popped out of their sockets. She was starting to choke but I did not care because I was so mad, my wolf was furious at our ex-mate.
“WHO IS IT?” I roared in my alpha tone. I felt her tremble at the sound of my voice.
She was weak.
“Let her go, Miller.” Daniel tried to order me, but I threw him a look which caused him to back off immediately.
She hesitantly pointed over my shoulder, and I growled.
Releasing my firm grip on her, she fell to the ground with a thud but all I felt was sickened by her betrayal and disgusted with myself for ever being with this she wolfs hoe.
I already knew how she was referring to.
It’s him.
The one that I never would have believe to be the father.
My beta.
I turned around to look at my beta coldly and felt sick.
“You.” I thundered causing everyone to gasp and fall silent. All eyes were on me and my lying beta.
“Oh my. This is not happening.” I heard Cora whisper to herself, but it was happening, and he was going to pay for betraying me.
His eyes were lowered to the ground, and he would not look at me at all.
The guilt was written all over his face.
I let out a low growl and then felt my wolf push forward.
Mora might not have been me fated mate, but she was my chosen mate and my Luna.
He was supposed to be my beta, the one I could trust with my life. My best friend since childhood and this is how he treated me. His alpha.
How dare he.
“Oh, no. Alpha. I’m so sorry, please let me explain.” He started to scream as my body shifted into my wolf form, claws and fur appeared and as I leapt into the air, I was in full wolf form ready to fight and kill.
My wolf wanted his blood and nothing and nobody was going to stop that from happening.
“Miller, no. Don’t do anything so stupid.” Isla shrieked from the side, but I wasn’t going to listen.
“Isla, stay out of it.” Max told her and she scowled furiously but did as she was told like a good little girl.
Max was an alpha; he knew the anger I would be feeling right now and there was no way that I could let this go. He had slept with the Luna of our pack. What would my pack think if I did not punish this fool? They would see me as a weak alpha, and I would lose all respect. My wolf wanted him dead.
He was not so forgiving.
“Please, Alpha.” My beta begged me and started to cry.
There would be no forgiveness.
My wolf was too far gone for that now.
In an instant my beta’s neck was snapped, and blood poured from his open wounds where my canines had pierced into his skin. He had not even been given the chance to shift and defend himself.
“Oh, my goddess. What have you done?” Cora yelled tearfully as she backed away from us all.
“You didn’t need to murder him.” Mora weeped and ran to his side.
I ran off into the forest not looking back. I did not care that he was dead.
My wolf needed to run.
To be free.
