It was still dark when I woke but I didn’t let that stop me getting up and sorted to leave. I did not want to waste another moment of my life in here especially when I saw Daniel was asleep cuddled up with Mora.
I hated her so much for everything that she had done to me.
I opened the door and quietly closed it behind me.
“Isla?” A voice called after me.
Mora.
Oh great!
She had woken up and was following me now, was there really no escape from this girl?
“What do you want?” I snapped harshly and she looked surprised, but I don’t know why since we had never been able to get along before.
“Just leave me alone.” I growled and ran off into the woods.
“Isla, please.” I heard her again. She was coming after me and, in her state, too.
Was she so stupid?
Daniel would go crazy if he found out that sh had left as well.
I didn’t even want to be around them anymore; she was pregnant with my brother’s baby when everyone else believed it to be the heir of Pembroke.
“Please, Isla I just want to put this behind us and be friends.” She begged me. She sounded so pathetic, and I could not believe that I was hearing that rubbish. She had always hated me. Why would she suddenly want to be friends with me now?
She could keep on dreaming.
I was only interested in getting away from here, away from everyone.
Then all I heard was this almighty scream and a thud like someone had fallen to the ground.
Mora.
Turning around, I looked back and gasped when I saw her collapsed on the ground in heap. She wasn’t moving and I ran over to her, checking for a pulse. It was there but very faint.
Then I saw the puddle and realised that her waters had gone. She was about to give birth.
Oh, my goddess!
“It’s ok, let me help.” A gentle voice said and touched my shoulder.
I looked up into the big, beautiful eyes that were none other than Max.
