Alpha Miller's POV
I had never gotten into my car so fast before. My beta tried to follow me, but I ordered him to stay behind. I would face this alone. Isla may not be too pleased to see me again so soon but needs must. I needed to get Mora back and keep her under lock and key until that baby was born safely.
I was so worried but when I pulled back into the Eclipse Grounds, I knew that she was there.
"What the hell are you doing back here?" Edward was not incredibly pleased to see me back so soon. I looked around, trying in vain to spot Isla or Mora, but instead I was flung against the wall by Edward.
"I asked you a question, damn fool. What are you doing back here?" He snarled, baring his teeth, and causing me to growl back. My wolf did not appreciate being spoken to in such a way.
"Reign your wolf back in before I have my men set on you and rip you to shreds. Believe me, I will make it happen so fast that you won't get a chance to escape."
He was serious. I could see that and reluctantly backed down. My wolf retreated to the back of my mind, leaving me standing there in front of this crazy alpha who wanted my guts for gaiters.
“You realize that Isla is not for you. You rejected her and you can’t just come back here expecting her to give into your pathetic charms. You left her in a bad way, it was terrible. I was immensely proud of her for the progress she made so quickly. She is the Lycan Kings mate, and I’d appreciate it if you left and never came back here again.” He said without taking his eyes off me.
I nodded my head sadly. I knew that, of course I did.
“What the hell is he doing here?” I turned around and there she was.
Goddess, she was so beautiful.
Why did I have to let myself lose her like that? If I had known the damage that those words would cause, then things would have been so different!
Unfortunately, now there was nothing that I could do about it.
I was here for Mora.
She should be at home with me since she was carrying my pup.
I was too exhausted to argue further with anyone.
“I am here for Mora, she left Pembroke, and, in her condition, I don’t think it’s a good idea that she should be too far away from me.” I said, stealing a glance at Isla, who scowled. My heart sunk to see the disgust on her face. She really did despise me. My wolf was still furious with me for how she had been treated, but we also knew we needed our Luna and pup back.
“Mora? Ha! You would be so lucky. Get off this turf and do one! “
Daniel!
My mouth felt open, and I blinked a few times to ensure that what I was seeing was real.
How the hell was Daniel standing in front of me?
“What are you talking about!” I let out a lowly growl and wasn’t myself a louder growl from Edward.
“I need my Luna.” I turned back to Ed and tried to get him on my side. Surely, he would understand that.
“She is not your Luna, and that pup is also not yours.” I heard Daniel say and when my eyes snapped towards him, he was smirking. I was confused at how he could say something so disrespectful.
“Your precious Mora is my brother’s true mate. That pup is also my brothers.” Isla piped up with such smugness that I felt my wolf stirring.
Ed stepped forward as if worried that I was about to attack.
We were interrupted by the arrival of the Lycan king again.
Isla immediately glowed with happiness at the sheer sight of him. It was sickening and hurt my heart so badly.
“Mora is asking for you. The pup is going to be OK.” I heard him tell Daniel and my ears pricked right up.
So, Mora was there.
He then caught sight of me and made a beeline to Isla, who wrapped herself around him. I noticed her glancing at me and then looking back at her second chance mate with satisfaction at the obvious sight of me hurting over this.
“Mora is carrying my pup. Now please excuse me while I tend to my mate.” Daniel grinned and nudged me as he walked past.
His pup?
Was this a joke?
