Chapter 22: Alpha Darian's Twin Brother

Eliana's POV

"Shut up, Tricksy; stop acting as if you have forgotten the hell we went through in the hands of Alpha Darian." I scolded Tricksy, who was still jubilating over Alpha Darian's arrival.

With that, I blocked the link while fuming in anger. I don't know what was enraging me the most, whether it's the fact that I heard his voice after all this time or because Tricksy was jubilating because he has finally found us.

Through my wolf senses, I could still hear Alpha Darian screaming at Richard, accusing him of trying to steal his mate. Once I heard him calling me his mate, I furrowed my brows as if he were right in front of me. Without realizing it, I started blushing to myself, but I snapped out of it once I remembered all the things he did to me.

Apart from the fact that he has finally recognized the mate bond, there was something strange in how he was screaming at Richard and shouting his name; it was as if they had known each other in the past, and also, how did he know the name of the Lycan king?

In order to satisfy my curiosity, I opened the door and started heading towards the court chamber, where the brouhaha was coming from.

As I was approaching the court chamber, I could hear my sound heart pounding heavily. I just couldn't imagine how he was going to react when he sets his eyes on me; surely he will jump on me and tear me into pieces for running away from his pack with his unborn child. But despite that, I wasn't too afraid because I was sure that Richard wouldn't allow him to lay his hands on me because he too is claiming to be my mate, and unlike Alpha Darian, he's ready to do everything so that I will accept to become his mate, and he won't hesitate to protect me from Alpha Darian in order to give me more reasons to choose him over Alpha Darian, who have brought me nothing but pain.

Once I reached the court chamber, I decided to hide behind one of the poles and take a proper look at what was going on before making my way in. From where I was hiding, I could see Alpha Darian and two of his men trying to make their way to Richard, but the guards of the palace wouldn't allow them as they kept blocking Alpha Darian and his men with their silver spears. It was as if silver objects had no effect on Lycans, contrary to werewolves who hated anything silver.

Meanwhile, Richard was sitting on his throne, watching the whole scene while grinning ear to ear.

After some minutes, he stood up from his throne and glared angrily at Alpha Darian.

"Let him pass," he commanded his men.

"Come on, Darian, I can see that you no longer have any atom of respect for your elderly ones," he said to Alpha Darian, his voice raising in anger.

Once the guards of Richard freed the road for Darian, he hollowed angrily, his wolf hair covering his face, but he didn't shift; he was half wolf and half human.

Hollowing angrily, he dashed towards Richard, who was fuming in anger, but like someone who had already calculated his moves, Richard blocked his hand in the air, giving him a punch that sent him crashing onto the wall. Once Alpha Darian crashed himself on the wall, my mouth dropped in awe. It's true that I have never seen him fight before, but from what I have been hearing about him, I was expecting more from him.

"How dare you, Darian? Do you think that you are in the Wolfeenwood pack where everything goes your way? Even though you have no respect for me as your older brother, at least respect the fact that you are in my pack?" Richard said to Darian, his voice raising in anger.

"Well, you should have thought about that before trying to snatch my mate away from me," Alpha Darian said to Richard while standing up. From the sound of his voice and from how deep his voice was, I could see that he was shifting into his wolf form, and Richard, on the other hand, was already shifting. Knowing that I am the reason why the brothers were fighting, I had to do something, even though I just discovered right now that the both of them are related.

Before I could come out of my hiding place, the both of them were already in their wolves, standing one foot tall, glaring angrily at each other.

Once the both of them dashed towards each other, I immediately ran and stood between them and screamed, "Stop!" and immediately the both of them froze at the spot.

To be sincere, I was afraid because I thought that the both of them would step on me, and also because my eyes were shot tightly as I was standing between the both of them.

After glaring daggers at each other for some seconds, they started shifting back into their human forms, and without hesitating, the guards ran towards them and gave them clothes that they wore immediately because they were all naked after shifting to their human form.

"Can you both tell me what is going on here, and do the both of you know each other?" I asked them both while pretending as if I didn't hear when Richard called him his younger brother. I could clearly see the regret written all over Darian's face once our eyes met, but that wasn't my main problem for the moment.

"I'm still waiting for an answer. Do you guys know each other?" I repeated the question while folding my hand on my chest.

"Yes, we know each other," Alpha Darian said to me after some minutes of silence.

"And?" I continued to not feel satisfied with the answer he gave me.

"He's my twin brother," Richard said to me while returning to his throne.

"Twin what? How is that even possible?" I asked in surprise.
