WHITE LION'S POV
A FEW WEEKS AGO
The tension in the room was as choking as tobacco. I took that as a good sign as I sat down on one of the Sofas.
My dad would say "Fear is a terrifying emotion, more terrifying is the man who wields it."
I knew who the man was right now and it was me.
I flipped my watch to see what the time was and it was a little past 9:00pm.
From what Sophia had said it could be assumed that Chief had instructed his security detail to leave only to return by 10pm.
Men like him didn't want anyone to know the evils they engaged in all in the name of secret pleasures.
Men like him would protect a murderer but who am I to judge. Of course I was one too, but what Nelson did was unforgivable and if I wasn't paid enough I still would have fought to have him killed.
I hated when women were messed with. And Nelson who just happened to be a rival for the senatorial election of his district had just kidnapped the daughter of the present Senator to force him into giving up his election.
Of course politics was always dirty and I made it even dirtier, but there are something's I just could not agree with and This was one of them.
"I can pay you much more than the senator Can?" Nwabueze started to say as he leaned back onto the Sofa feeling confident that he had gotten our attention.
He should have known better though. Loyalty mattered more than money to me and my gang. That was why we were on top in the first place.
I believed that Loyalty could bring money, but money could not buy loyalty.
"In return for what?" Marcus asked, obviously not considering it but baiting him.
"A counter attack." Nwabueze replied his brown eyes now on mine.
I could see his hands shake even though he tried to hide it but I was more observant. "I will pay you three times the amount."
"Why are you so eager to protect Mr Nelson?" Marcus asked. This time Nwabueze did not reply.
"It's none of your business!" He snapped starting to look even more scared.
Marcus was about to reiterate when I raised my hand stopping him from speaking further.
Nwabueze looked at me and smiled, "So what do you say?"
"What happened to your brow?" I asked, touching my own to reflect what I was asking.
"The bastard here..."
I raised my hand and gestured for him to stop. Then I looked back at Marcus, "You hit him? Why?" I asked quite simply.
"He tried to escape Boss."
"Marcus..." I drawled. "You know I do not like to mess the trunk of my Car more than necessary."
He looked down, but before he did a glint in his eyes told me that he knew where this was going.
I exhaled and stood up.
"Chief I have had a very bad day and the fact that you are alive now is because I have deemed it so. But my Mercy is Precarious especially to those who don't deserve it." I paused, tilting my head up a beat.
"Not only am I a man of few words I do not fancy torture. So I'm going to pick up from where my man stopped."
I pulled out my gun from my pocket and checked if it was loaded satisfied that it was I looked up at him still maintaining a blank expression on my face.
"Where is Nelson?" I asked.
Nwabueze was about to say something when I shushed him up raising my middle finger up to my lips.
I pulled the trigger with my left hand and shot at his hands causing him to scream out in pain.
"What the hell was that for!" He yelled, grabbing his right hand where I had shot him, supporting it with his left.
"When I ask I expect you to answer in the next second." I simply replied. I pulled again and this time I shot at his left leg.
"You are still not speaking." I said simply.
"Jesus Christ! Stop!" He screamed out in pain falling off the sofa. "I will talk. Please!"
"I had asked them to make sure you don't bleed because I wanted to give you a decent burial but thinking about it I think I would prefer your wife sees you here on the ground and finally understands what a dirty filthy bastard you are."
I pointed the gun at him again and this time I aimed for his heart.
Before I could pull the trigger he screamed out stopping me. "He's...He's..at a lake house at his town in Madeira . Please don't kill me he begged. That's where he took her to...That's..That's where he is." He said in pain.
I put the gun back in my pocket and walked out not for once showing any emotion.
