The man at the door suddenly fell down with a wail that echoed through out the large room shocking everyone.
The Leader whirled around to see what the noise was about, but no one was in sight.
"Someone is here!" Kofe shouted, rushing to their partner who was now sprawled up on the floor.
"Kofi! Kofi!" He called to him, jerking him, but he didn't move. He was obviously now unconscious.
The Leader moved away from me and I took in a deep breath that almost choked me.
"Who was here?!" He yelled, facing Kofe now.
"I don't know!" Kofe whimpered.
The guy at the window looked at the scene without moving an inch except from the few times he blinked.
It was as if he was detached from his environment. The others paid him no mind as if they had expected his wordless contribution.
Tears dried up in my eyes and clung to my cheeks as I balled my hands into fist. I didn't know what was coming, but a part of me suspected that it was Scar.
The Leader turned to me almost as if he could read my mind. "You!" He barked, pointing at me with rage filled eyes.
I sat still on my chair preparing for the worst as he made his way towards me as angry as ever.
The worst never came though.
We all jerked to the unmistakeable sound of a gunshot. Then they came screams and blood. But I didn't know who the screams belonged to.
I couldn't see even though my eyes were opened, my lips moved but no words came out. I was scared to the bone as I took in the scene before me.
I visibly shook as if I had been dipped in ice chilled water. Not knowing what was coming severed almost every thread of bravery in me.
I rubbed my hands together to resume the flow of blood in them.
Kofe was limping now, his head swollen and bleeding. Drops of blood trickled down his face and into his eyes giving him a sardonic look with his black mask on.
My heartbeat suspended as I watched him fall down to the floor unconscious.
The guy at the window jumped out in fear for his life.
Just then... Scar walked in.
He was holding a gun at his side. His steps were measured and calculated. His eyes dark from rage and his lips as red as blood.
I didn't take a good look at what he wore but I saw the blood on his shirt. I tried to breath but I couldn't, instead I swallowed, swallowing the lump in my throat.
"Get away from her!" Scar growled. His commanding voice pierced the air in the room and sent shivers down my spine.
The Leader was just as shocked as I was. His hands fell limply to his side as he slowly backed away from me.
However, he regained his composure after a few seconds, looking fierce himself, but never as fierce as Scar.
He skillfully tried to take his gun from the table but Scar noticed, for even with his mask his cowardice was transparent.
"Don't even think of it!" Scar warned moving towards us. His steps were slow and cautious.
"And if I do?" The boss challenged, sounding every bit unchallenging. He had seen what Scar was capable of. He would be a fool to speak up against him, but bravery is sometimes attributed to fools.
Scar laughed. "Then you will loose your hand, boy," Scar said wistfully. He was so calm. "Move away from her."
"Calm down man!" The boss muttered, in an attempt to lighten the situation, but it only infuriated Scar more.
"Don't mess with me! The only reason you are still alive is because I have deemed it so. Now Move!" Scar yelled, pointing the gun straight at the mans forehead.
The Leader backed up and away from me slowly, until he was on the other side of the room.
With the table keeping us apart now I could finally breath. His hands were above his head as a sign of surrender.
"Get on your knees!" Scar ordered, still pointing the gun at him.
The boss fell to his knees.
I wasn't surprised that he obliged immediately. Scar looked so dangerous and blood thirsty that if I didn't know for a fact that he wouldn't hurt me I would have been frantic.
I took in his appearance, he was putting on a blue polo which was now stained in blood and black jeans with black converse to match. His eyes glistened in the sunlight that sipped into the room from the too large windows. His face was contorted in a deep frown_
"Who sent you?" Scar asked. "And for the Love of everything you hold dear you had better speak the truth." He added through clenched teeth.
