The Gang Leader's Obsession

Chapter 97

Ch. 97 / 185 Jun 03, 2025

WHITE LION'S POV

It was crazy how I felt as I jumped over the fence of Mira's compound.

I was going mad with so many emotions. Fear, confusion, eagerness, Love, anger, rage and a host of others.

Suddenly a hand clutched my heart and weakened me, anxiety.

I had seen in Mira's eyes how disappointed she was at me for failing to keep my promise to her.

There were so many What If's going on in my head. What If she started to hate me? What if Sophia betrayed me just like Ken had done?

What if In a bid not to hurt her I ended up doing exactly that? What if my plan backfires? God!

Fuck!

There were so many what if's and it was almost driving me insane.

Mira had every right to be angry with me. I was lying to her, keeping her in the dark, breaking my promises to her.

I would like to believe that it was for her own good. I couldn't take any chances, I didn't want to. A lot of people were calling for my head. And when you can't get a man directly you go for his weakness.

I had played such games before so I knew how they worked. I couldn't allow anyone use her to get to me. She was too precious to be used as bait.

No one else knew my name so why couldn't I just tell her?

Because I was scared that if I did then she would be able to link me to my father. I knew that only those in his close circle had known his real name, but I was still too afraid to take any chances.

I was trying so hard to protect her from my secret but maybe I should start protecting her from myself.

I knew this. Damn! I did, yet I couldn't stay away from her.

It was either I let her go or I submit to her wishes and right now I just didn't know what to do.

I put my hoodie over my head and exhaled. If there was a way for me to sneak into her room I would have, but there was no way.

I had to let her be even if it was killing me to.

The night was cold, like December, only it was july. I was getting more and more impatient standing there waiting for my ride.

I contemplated on calling Marcus but I just didn't have the will to switch on my phone or to bring it out from the depths of my pocket.

I exhaled not liking the time I wasted doing nothing when I had a score to settle.

It wasn't the cold or the night that scared me. It was not having my revenge.

Finally, a white Venza came to view, the car headlight almost blinded my already sensitive eyes.

I looked away, hating the many emotions I felt that was threatening to break me.

The car stopped in front of me and I walked over to it.

Ogaga who was sited in front came out to open the door for me, fear in his demeanor obviously still scared that I would kill him. Only if he knew that he was the least of my problems now.

I entered the Car and pulled down my black hoodie from over my head.

"Jega has been calling you." Marcus said, looking back at me. "I'm sorry for arriving late."

"I switched of my phone." I said, ignoring his unnecessary apology.

I had started taking my phone out with me since a week after the siege so my men had the confidence that I was with them and a call away.

But had to switch if off every time I was with Mira so she wouldn't hear it ring and see it. Even though she had almost caught me with it last week when she had surprised me by sneaking into my caravan. Thankfully I had distracted her from it by quickly hugging her.

I needed to get a smaller phone urgently.

"Do you have the wipes there with you?" I asked, pushing the thoughts of my phone to the back of my head.

My plan had become even more complicated than I had expected it to be but Damn me if I gave up on it. Especially now that Mira had confessed her love for me.

"Sure Boss." Marcus replied.

He passed the wipes that was hidden on the converter. "Anything else?"

"Drive." I simply stated.

Marcus nodded and not another word was spoken. I spent the entire ride trying to clean the hideous make up on my face although I couldn't take the contact lens off until I was home.
