Scar had just added more colour to my night..
I was so excited to see him I immediately forgot all my mothers warning.
I looked at the time to see that it was already so late at night almost morning, but I couldn't control myself. I had to see him.
I sneaked out of the room after making sure my brothers were asleep. They were even snoring.
I tiptoed to my mum's room which was opposite ours, at the end of the short passage. Then I placed my ears on the door to check if she was still awake although I was almost sure she had fallen asleep.
Now that my Dad was no longer around she slept early every night. I liked to think it was because she was finally experiencing some kind of peace.
The room was so quiet and I figured that she was fast asleep.
She was so tired when she came back today from all the going around she was doing due to the new changes we were about to implement in our lives thanks to Aunty Lisa's money and Kens boastful mouth.
I was even the one who had prepared dinner of yam and egg sauce after I returned back from work two hours before her.
I smiled and tiptoed to the parlor.
All the lights were off, giving me a go ahead. I took the door and step keys from the altar which was decorated with flowers and pictures of Mary, Jesus and Joseph: mostly Jesus.
The altar was hung on the wall behind our wooden door.
I was satisfied with how I looked. My night wear which was a trouser and top wasn't revealing in the very least so if I was caught It wouldn't look so bad.
Ecstatic to see him I could not stop the smile on my face from growing wider and wider.
He was going to tell me his name, I'll finally know his name. I could barely contain my happiness.
I walked down slowly, my heart beat rhythmically fast, I couldn't wait to see him.
So many emotions were consuming me and I felt like I was going to burst into tiny Bubbles from all the giddiness I was feeling. I wanted to scream, to shout, to cry, anything, I wanted to let it all out. Thankfully my neighbors generator muffled any sounds that I could have made carelessly, so the fear of being heard was left out.
Getting down to the pavement I slowly opened the gate and let him in, holding the door out for him.
He sat on the Pavement smiling up at me. "You know this thing you do is dangerous. What if it wasn't me?"
I giggled and sat down beside him on the pavement. If any of my neighbours came out they would definitely see us and knowing this fact made me excited and scared at the same time.
"I knew it was you." I simply answered.
Scars eyes stayed steady on the sky. It was like he was reading a story. A story where the stars were the characters, and the moon the writer.
He smiled so wide for a moment there my heart stopped. I realised how addicted I was to him. How obsessed and dependant I was. I was nervous, frantic, as if I had been running a thousand metre marathon race in the speed of bolt. If what I felt was love then I would liken it to no other feeling than madness, and it scared the crap out of me.
I took in a deep breath and let it out slowly through my mouth.
I impulsively moved a bit so that I could sit closer to him. We were still a few inches apart but that didn't matter, even a thousand walls could not keep us apart, he would always come for me. I was sure of that like I was sure of my name.
Scar took my hands in his and beamed at me. My hand fit just perfectly in his, he was the perfect man for me.
His touch made me wonder how much of him I could take before I finally lost touch of reality. Before I finally lost touch of the world.
I looked at him and saw those lovely eyes that haunted my day and kept me sleeping at night. Those eyes that mirrored my soul, that bared me so much I felt naked in his gaze. Those eyes that looked at me with so much love, so much so that I was beginning to love myself.
Because If someone could love me like he did, unconditionally without any hesitations or restrictions then there must be something worth loving in me. He was endearing and I was charmed.
"The night is beautiful right?" Scar whispered.
"Yes it is.. So beautiful, so so beautiful." I agreed, looking at the moon. I was trying not to cry, but it was getting harder to keep my tears at bay.
Crying would be a pathetic attempt to let my heart explode, to let the emotions out, because they were killing me.
"But you are more beautiful." He added.
At that point I just wanted to die from happiness.
