WHITE LION'S POV
A FEW WEEKS AGO
Immediately Marcus left Sophia walked over to me coming around the table and sitting on the edge as she looked up at me.
Suddenly my office started to feel small, small enough to suffocate me.
The same strong, firm hands that had been clutching my chest yesterday returned now in full force.
Sophia reminded me of my plans and my plans reminded me of Ken and what he had done to Mira.
There was becoming a never ending blackness to my thoughts.
I made to stand up after I gave up on trying to control my raging heartbeat and the piercing pain in my chest, but Sophia placed her hands on my shoulders forcing me back down on the chair.
I shook my head slowly feeling a tensed kind of anger brew up in my bones.
I flexed my jaw deciding not to spit out all the profanities that were just at the tip of my tongue. Looking up at Sophia's knowing smile my frown deepened.
She knew just how hard I was controlling myself from lashing out on her and I bet she was enjoying seeing me so frustrated.
She had this red lipstick on that screamed seductive and her fair skin lit in the morning sun giving her a sheen glee.
Her braids were packed behind her back, long and full reminding me of Mira. Mira always seemed to be on her natural hair.
I wondered what she would look like on braids.
Maybe one day I could suggest it to her. Thinking about her almost made me smile. Almost. But it also brought me pain. The perfect feeling of ambivalence.
"You don't look too good." Sophia uttered. "Conflicting emotions as always huh?" She asked,
She bent down slightly exposing a bit too much of her ample breast as her hands slid seductively to my shoulders. "Why not allow me give you a relaxing touch?" The words slid out of her mouth like a slow seductive music.
The button of her lose gray shirt were opened and I had a feeling she did that on purpose and knew that Marcus had felt the same.
"I don't feel good Sophia." I said, snapping her hand away from my shoulders. The last thing I needed to do was get hard with Sophia around. She would use that as an opportunity to get me to fuck her and I didn't want to reject her anymore than I already had.
I couldn't afford to add to the guilt I was already feeling. Sophia never could understand that a hard dick for me didn't mean that I wanted to use it. I couldn't control the little thing below, but I could very well control who I fucked.
Right now in my life and forever I knew who I wanted to bury myself deep in and it wasn't Sophia.
"You also disappointed me don't think that you are left off." I spat, wiping off the smug look on her face. "You've been looking for this all this while and here it is... an opportunity to run the gang and you call me on your first major duty?"
"Marcus would have failed. I needed a real man..."
"He is a real man! And the earlier you start seeing that the better it would be for everyone one of us." I said through clenched teeth, locking eyes with her.
I could feel the heat of anger surge through my veins and I could tell that she felt it too.
She visibly swallowed and walked back to her sit, shifting uncomfortably as she sat down.
"Yesterday when I called you, you didn't sound good. Did you later find out what the relationship between your girl and Ken is? Is that the root of your confusion?" Sophia asked. Untamed curiosity danced in her eyes with a little bit of hope
I knew what she was trying to do, to get back to my good books by talking about the one thing she knew I loved more than anything in the world.
I was falling for it anyway.
I stood up as I walked over to the floor to ceiling window on the right.
I needed to feel the sun on my skin again. I needed to feel close to Mira.
Looking down at the garden I remembered how Mira had tried to escape and how afraid I had been at her leaving me.
She was brave and impulsive, a very dangerous combination but she was also pure and fierce and she had a good head. She had so much potentials. Passion, desire and a good mind to think, was one of her many strengths.
I loved that she didn't pretend to be better than everyone and I admired how strong she could be.
"Lion." Sophia called pulling me out of my thoughts and ultimately reminding me of our discussion.
I couldn't possibly tell Sophia what Mira had said to me in confidence, but I had to fill up the tiny space just so she would be up to date about my plans as she was my one ally.
"He had hurt her before. He had once been the demon in her life and her past." I stated simply, trying to hide the pain speaking this out loud was causing me.
I heard her stand up from her chair and I immediately felt her presence behind me. She gently touched my back and I flinched.
Her touch was aimed at soothing me, but it put me on edge as if Mira would suddenly walk in on her touching me and hate me even more.
I quickly moved away from her walking to bar not so far away.
"Since when Do you drink?" Sophia asked as I took a bottle of red wine and a glass.
"Since when I sent a monster to the girl I love." I replied sitting back down on my tall Leather chair. I poured to fill a glass and downed the entire content.
"I am not going to offer you wine, Sophia. If you want one you know where to get it so don't give me those expectant eyes."
Sophia rolled her eyes, a faint smile lightening up her face. "When you are like this I do not expect any gentlemanly act from you, WHITE LION."
"Good." I said flatly. She was obviously lying, but I did not care.
"Is the deal off then?" She asked, coming to stand before me across the table. Now she kept her distance.
"It is." I said through clenched teeth. "But I am not going to call him, and I am not going to summon him because if I so much as see or hear his voice I would kill him and although I want nothing more than to do that I don't want to do that yet. I want to end him in the way my baby will know and approve of."
"How do you plan on getting rid of him?" Sophia smiled, as she looked down at me.
Something dark quickly appeared and disappeared in her dark brown eyes. The moment I saw it I recognized it because it was familiar.
"By letting him fall into his own trap." I stated downing another glass of wine.
"So many people seemed to have forgotten why I am called Lion. I seek to remind them."
