WHITE LION'S POV.
FLASH BACK
The heart wants what it wants, be it with choices of a lover or the bond of family. It doesn't bend with the Logic of the mind, thus it most times supersedes it.
Hence, No matter how I tried to hate my dad for what he had allowed to happen to my mum, and for the kind of life he put me through and initiated me into. I just could not hate that man.
He had thought me a whole lot, a whole lot that had helped me go through life and had helped me survive.
He had told me, "A man is his will. Find his will and you can easily predict him."
This quote came in handy every time I was against anyone, keeping me a few steps ahead as always.
I already could tell what Ken's will was. It was to torment Mira, to break her whether with my approval or not.
For one week I watched Mira all day and at night, after I was sure that she was asleep I would go back to help my men in the siege.
I was waiting for Ken and I knew that he would try to get her even without a go ahead from me.
Mira was starting to get used to me and I loved it. I could tell that she was starting to feel the passion between us and although she was trying to control it, to mask it with anger I could tell that I was starting getting to her.
She was getting just as addicted to me as I was to her.
I loved to be around her even if it meant me going to church. Something that I had only done when My mother was alive because even If the woman knew just how evil my Dad had been she wanted to save me from the blackness of life that she couldn't help but be drawn to because of the one feeling which now ruled my heart, Love.
Although despite her trials, both religiously and otherwise she still failed to save me.
Sometimes I just couldn't help but feel that she sent Mira to me just to complete that which she could not finish before her death.
The first time I had gone to church with Mira I was so eager to leave, for I was clouded and almost drowned with memories of my mother. Painful memories that I had tried so hard to subdue.
But this time I felt so at peace that I did not notice Mira leave. It was the tone of her voice that had soothed me. The chantings of the rehearsal had stirred my otherwise bland soul.
No matter how many they were singing the same song I could always pick out Mira's voice from the crowd.
I was not one to enjoy music because it dug me into the depths of my soul, into the abyss that was my spirit.
On the other hand Music seemed to be something Mira completely cherished, thus I had not expected her to leave the rehearsal when it was still going on, but she did.
Immediately I spotted her absence after some minutes of being carried away with the chantings of 'Gloria', I stood up from the back of the church on the last pew where I had been waiting for her, and ran after her.
Getting to the second street after the church building I found her being attacked by the dragon gang and sighed. Men like Ken were predictable.
I would have killed every single one of them but I couldn't, at least not before Mira.
After saving her I felt the need to claim her. To tell her that she belonged to me.
"You are mine." I whispered to her, causing her to turn back, fear in her eyes from all the anxiety of being pursued by Ken.
I could feel her shudder while her eyes searched for who the voice belongs to.
I maintaining a poker face and quickly distracted her with questions acting as though I was clueless when I was anything but that.
Ken had almost caught me of guard with the fire attack, but I had figured it out immediately and sent for an extinguisher from my house.
Everything was going according to plan the only thing I didn't plan for was me kissing Mira.
But seeing her look at me like that, like I was an angel I couldn't help but merge her lips with mine. They were full and soft and I completely lost myself in them. Shockingly she responded to my kiss, but her response only reminded me of what a monster I was.
The devil.
I tried to push her away but she fought to stay and so I had to show her a little bit of the type of person I was and what better way to do that than going off on the limping man on the ground.
I could tell that she was hurt when she turned around and finally left me to my raging mind.
My heart broke into tiny pieces as I entered the SUV and headed straight for the station to see the DPO.
Marcus had helped me call Jega, and had also requested his car to pick up the limping man for I was not going to let him in my car.
Although, he had to come with me just incase Mira decided she wanted to confront him herself.
I sat cross legged from Jega in his dimly lit patched office that very well could pass as one of his ugly cells, but I couldn't mock him though.
The fact that he was underpaid was one of the reason why he worked for me anyway.
"So you want him arrested. Since when do you take an interest in the law, Lion?" Jega teased.
"I would like to believe that you did not just ask me that." I said calmly, too calmly.
He raised his hands in surrender a glint of fear in his eyes. All trace of a smile on his face quickly disappeared.
"Of course not." He said out too loudly.
"Do I still pretend to detest you."
Changing the conversation. I see.
"That would no longer be necessary." I said as I stood up.
"You know the plan. Wait for him to ambush us, get your men and arrest him. I am going to give you the weekend to gather enough men for this and although I would have assisted you with my men, helping you to finally take down what's left of the Dragon gang would serve as enough help to you. After all you would be taking all the official credit for it."
"Of course it would serve, Lion. More than enough help. He is not as strong as before now. Rumours have it that he's now obsessed over a woman."
"What is it with all powerful gang leaders being obsessed by her." Jega said under his breath. I caught on to it though, I but chose to ignore it.
Jega was the very least of my concern. Plus he was a tool that I was very much pleased with.
"He would come to you for help that I am sure of and he would try bribe you with a lot of money, but you know where your loyalty stands."
"With you lion." Jega immediately cut in.
"As it should be. Bait him and Take him down fast before he hurts my girl or I would have your head after I have his."
I walked to the door and Turner around, "And you will have to act a lot more better than you did with Mira." I said as a final note of warning.
He nodded and I walked out.
Outside the cold night I reminded myself to transfer some money to the Land Lady on behalf of Mira's family.
The last thing I wanted was to have her throw them out of the house because of this incident.
At least half a million would be enough to take care of the house for now, even though I plan on secretly buying Mira another house when she finally accepts me of course.
However, right now I had to take off this horrible contract lens before it destroys my eyes.
