I opened my eyes blinking back tears. Scar moved away now, his breathing laboured, his big hand placed on my small one.
The dpo stood behind the coward, pointing his gun at him. But it turned out that the one who I thought weak wasn't. He observed and waited for the right time to strike that's why he jumped of the window, he wasn't scared, he was hatching a plan.
"Move any closer and I'll blow her head off!" He warned. I flinched because I knew he was going to do exactly that. But dying wasn't the sad part, living without Scar would be. A day with scar was worth a thousand years without him, a thousand years of nothingness.
In a bid to get more leverage as the police were already surrounding him he walked closer to us, still pointing the gun at me.
Scar looked like he was about to pass out. Drops of sweat tricked down his face and he was breathing heavily without rhythm.
The coward noticed Scar's weakness and wanted to leverage on it to get me. He tried to pull me to him, but Scar kicked the gun out of his hand and hit him hard on the head with it. I felt the impact.
Scar then pushed him to the gate in one swift angry move, as if he hadn't been wounded, like nothing happened to him at all. He continued to push the cowards head against the gate so many times his head started bleeding profusely.
Then he pushed him to the floor and started kicking him, kick after kick after kick. I looked at the dpo who hissed in relief. I looked back at scar who kept kicking the guy on the floor his hands balled into a fist, his knuckles red.
He stopped kicking him only to raise him up from the floor. He hit the cowards face in quick successions now. Blow after blow after blow; each time he fell he dragged him up again not giving him any time to recover. "You tried to kill her! You fucking tried to kill her! That's unforgivable, I'll kill you!" Scar kept screaming.
The coward became a bloody mess and Scar was still enraged.
It was the kind of rage that blinds you, that stops you from reasoning.
His rage was the kind of rage that turns you into a monster, into a different person from yourself. The kind that scares away your loved ones.
"Scar stop please." I cried out. I hugged him from behind and buried my face on his back.
I didn't mind that his blood would stain my head or that he was crashing every single wall I had built over again, all I cared about was stopping him before he killed someone all because of me.
Because he loved me like no other, because his love for me was pure there was not a single blemish. Because he had let me in, because our heart connected and had the same beat. He stopped. He stopped not because he wanted to, but because I asked him to and he loved me.
Scar embraced me tightly. My head rested on his chest as I listened to his heart beat.
"I cannot lose you mira, but most especially the world cannot loose you. None of us can ever get another Like you. You are beautiful In your heart and in your soul. I love you Mira not more than anyone can ever love you but more than anyone can ever love anyone. I will take a bullet for you a thousand times over without batting an eyelid." He breathed in and hugged me tighter. I relaxed completely in his arms, everything was forgotten. We made our own world and we alone were in it. "You are my reason for existing without you there is no me. There is no Noah Agu."
"Noah." I asked cocking an eyebrow although he couldn't see me since my face was buried on his chest.
A sweet burial.
"That's my name." He said, breaking our embrace but he didn't leave me. He cupped my cheek gently and smiled. "But it should remain our secret."
I grinned. I felt so happy I couldn't put it to words. "Why did you change your mind?"
"Because I want you to know me. Damn the consequences!"
"Damn them all!" Laughed. "I will keep your secret my Love."
"My Love." Scar repeated smiling. He pulled me into a fiery and passionate kiss. Our tongues went on rampage, but his was wining the fight for dominance.
I realized then that I would never get enough of him. He kissed me harder, deeper, with a fervent urgent need I had never known before. A need I reciprocated with urgent madness. I moaned his name. But I didn't call him Scar for no one deserved to be addressed by their flaw. This time I called his name, Because that's who he was. Noah.
