WHITE LION'S POV
Patience was a virtue of mine or would I say one that my father had worked so hard to imbibe in me.
I could wait and plan for months before an attack, as long as it would make me come out victorious. But right now I Lacked the endurance to stay out this cold night for what I anticipated was far greater than any thing patience could afford me.
Revenge was so close I could practically taste the blood on my tongue.
I wanted nothing more than to drive my fist into Ken's face over and over again while I watched as splutters of blood dripped down his nose and lips.
I felt intense anger, the kind that only ends in death and that was exactly what I planned to do.
I was going to kill him with my fist so that he felt every bit of my anger, every single flame of it. I was hot with a thirst for blood.
A chill ran up my spine when I saw Jega pushing Ken to the road where I stood. His legs and arms handcuffed.
Ken did not seem fazed by my presence. His eyes were wide and full of hate. His lanky body clad in only a red short boxers made him resemble an untamed animal.
His dark skin was already spotting patches from being in the cell for such a short period.
The full moon Illuminated these imperfections and animality to the fullest.
Any other person would have been scared of his dainty, mad appearance but not me.
Just like he had rightly told Mira, he was a cat and I, I was the King of the pride.
"Release him." I ordered, a low growl in my voice. Jega did as I instructed, fretfully taking Ken out of the chains.
"Don't make too much noise people_" He started to speak.
"Leave!" I bellowed.
Jega cowered. He turned around and left through the thick path he had just come in from, going down the bush.
The road I stood was just at the back of the dilapidated prison building.
We were surrounded by bushes and darkness. It was as silent as a graveyard hence Jega was afraid of our voices being heard by God knows who! because no one lived close to This area because of the dangers of it.
But I understood him. He wanted to protect his reputation something I had no interest in myself or maybe I did, for his good name indirectly helped me but I was too clouded with anger to think about that now.
Ken immediately tried to run, but I pulled out my pistol and cracked it.
The cold night accentuated the sound of my hand moving against the trigger, making the cracking sound as clear as raging thunder.
The sound forced Ken to turn around for He knew better than to call me bluff.
The moon settled on Ken's features as though it wanted to give me a full picture of him so I don't miss his head should I decide to kill him with a bullet instead of my bare hands.
His eyes twinkled with varied emotions but he laughed in a bid to mask them all.
"I knew you were going to come back. Are you here to shoot me? What. Why are you staring? Common do what you came here for or are you now a coward?! Kill me! Do it! Shoot me like a fucking pussy!"
A man who had death facing him in the form of the most feared gang leader would want to lash out his pride and wit as much as he could.
There was no hope in his dark eyes and very much so, for when I mark you for death. Dead you are.
When I didn't reply, Ken continued to speak in the hopes of driving me to a rage so loud I wouldn't be able to think through the voices in my head, and just maybe he could escape.
He was so wrong. No amount of anger he put in me would save his life.
"Has she weakened you so much that even physically you cannot act?! Oh you are dying for her approval aren't you? The devil is dying for the approval of a simple girl that isn't even his." He spat the last part and my heart clenched at the thought of Mira not being mine.
"You talk a big game Ken but you are a lousy illusion. What did you think. That I was going to let you betray me and walk away freely?"
"That you were ever going to win against me the White Lion. That you were going to touch what's mine and live?" I chuckled bitterly. "My oh my you should have known better, yet again you did, but you were grasping on some kind of mental delusion right? What was it? That you could outsmart me! That Mira would chose you? She hates you." I scoffed out along with a deadly chuckle.
Ken shook in anger and started to walk towards me with a weak attempt at bravery.
The closer he got to me the angrier I became and the more I wanted to punch him in the face.
"She hates me because I was true to her but you, you think she loves you? wait till she finds out who you are! wait..."
"She still will be mine!" I snarled. "She loves me!"
"She is not yours! She has never been yours!"
" Even before you could dream of seeing her she was mine. She has always belonged to me. Only to me! So when you brought the plan to get closer to her to my willing ears, I couldn't be happier. You gave her to me on a platter of gold. Even if you kill me now she won't still be yours so give up your plan already. You want to judge me Lion, but you are just like me. Even worst."
"I am not a rapist." I said through clenched teeth.
Ken was taken aback visibly shocked by my words but he seemed to remember something that renewed his confidence again.
"Oh yea, the hypocrisy. Didn't you touch her like I did her?" He spat and suddenly it felt like I had been thrown in a flood of all things dark and evil.
Nothing could save him now but could anything save me. Was I maybe not as lost as he was?
