Thanks to Scar my life would have been worse. He was different from all the men in my life. He was an angel, my angel.
"Do you understand?! Do you understand?" He spat.
"Yes."
"Yes what?"
"Yes, I understand" I repeated, with shaky voice.
"Good! See how hard was that?" he smirked. I didn't spare him another glance, instead I focused on stretching my shuffled night gown as I sat down, dazed. He brought out an ancient Nokia phone. The type that looked more like a burner.
I wondered where he had gotten it from. I thought the kind of phone had gone extinct.
"Now call your mums number Reina," he demanded, sitting down close to me, our backs against the wall.
"You are the kidnapper you should have her number. I hate to think that you're not competent enough to make a good research." I exhaled.
I felt as thought my head would explode. All I wanted was to go home and sleep. To forget it all, to think it all a dream.
"I'm asking nicely you had better speak up before Sophia comes. She isn't as nice as I am."
"Nicely my ass!" I scoffed, looking away from him. My cheeks hurt, but I didn't want to touch it, I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing he had hurt me. I found it difficult to breathe even with my mouth parted. It was his presence, it was choking me.
"For a girl who everyone thinks is so innocent your use of vulgar words is quite spectacular." He mocked.
"Is that a complement?" I hissed, standing up. I didn't want to be sitting close to him anymore. It made my skin crawl to think how close we were to each other.
He reminded me of Ken and of White lion_the man who had kidnapped me and those girls. I had to wonder why they kept mentioning him. I had nothing to do with him, nothing at all.
"Take it however you please. Life is all about perspective. Now the number or would you prefer to wait for Sophia? If you do she might take your mum and ask her directly for the number." He threatened. I looked away from his eyes and remained silent.
"Yeah right. Like you can!" I hissed. I tried to remain calm even though I was afraid that he would carry out his threat.
"Do you want to find out if I am bluffing My Queen?"
"That's enough!" I shouted closing my ears. "Stop calling me that!"
"I will ask again, nicely."
"Fuck you!"
"Harder princess, but after you give me the number." He was so close now, at an arm's length. I could smell his Cologne.
"Fine I'll give it to you!" I blurted, trying to walk passed him. He grabbed my arm and pushed me back to the wall.
"That's my princess."
"Stop calling me that!" I screamed, looking away from him. He held on to my chin and forced me to look at him.
"Let me go please. I will give you what you want."
He laughed. "Do you really mean that?" I didn't reply. "Don't get mad princess at least not yet when the game is just beginning."
I stared at him in anger. My heart pounded hard against my ribcage. It dawned on me that this was a game_ To all of them and I was the pawn in their game.
I balled my hands into fist. "Move back!" My voice was hard and firm.
He finally let go of me, but he never let his eyes of me.
"Now call the number princess." I knew he wouldn't stop calling me princess and fighting over it with him was unnecessary. So I chose to ignore him.
I slowly and painfully called my mums number.
He looked Noble but I could not put anything passed kidnappers I didn't want to die now I wanted to be alive for my family. I hoped whatever ransom he would call was something my mum would be able to pay from the little money she had raised from her business.
It hurt me to think how much I had caused her to suffer and how much money she might lose from all this. Granted that I was the reason why she had the money in the first place, but I didn't want to be the reason why she lost it. I didn't want to lose it at all.
I immediately started regretting giving him her number. But I knew that my life was worth more to her than all the money in the world.
My mum picked on the first ring.
"Hello, am I speaking to Mrs Amelia?" He asked. He pressed the phone to his ear and smiled at me, a sickening sweet smile. His pink lips were stretched into a thin line and his eyes glowed under the sunlight.
"Yes, this is she, how can I help you?" the voice from the other side replied.
I immediately recognized my mums voice, I loved that voice. I wanted to shout, to cry, anything, but I stayed still as my mum's words echoed in my mind.
She didn't sound worried about my absence, she must have thought it was one of those days when I sneaked out of the house in search for Scar.
She must have thought that I was with him. That maybe he had finally returned to his small caravan.
"I do believe we can help each other ma, I have your daughter with me."
