The Gang Leader's Obsession

Chapter 162

Ch. 162 / 185 Jun 03, 2025

Noah opened the door for me. “After you, miss,” he said with a grin. This was the first time he was speaking after I got into the car with him.

I should have been too scared to, seeing as he literally stopped his entourage from coming with us.

Yet, I trusted him like I would a long lost friend or lover. Almost like I would trust my Scar.

“I can open the door myself, thank you very much,” I replied. Then I deliberately opened the other door and walked out.

The cold air of new York city this October end immediately took its toll on my skin. I shivered a bit but thanks to my suit it wasn't so damaging.

I walked around the Lamborghini to meet Noah standing by the foot of the building hands in his pocket waiting for me.

There was a huge smile on his face that made him look even more perfect.

I swallowed, hoping that it could stop my heart from breathing terribly fast, but it didn't.

Maybe it was the similarity in looks or the fact that no therapist no matter how good could convince me that the love of my life was not going to come back to me.

"Still so stubborn aye?" He chuckled, buckling an arm.

I put my hand in the bend of his as we walked into the restaurant.

"You speak as though you know me." I commented, looking up at him as we both walked into the double glass doors of the eatery.

T

he restaurant was small and simple and it gave a homely feeling. Nothing too big yet I loved it.

I loved the smell of African food and the beauty of the decorated wooden floors. All the round tables had roses on it as they backed a rather huge counter where a small black woman stood smiling right at me.

The walls were filled with paintings of landscape and African gods and I immediately felt at home.

Noah walked straight to one of the chairs overlooking the glass wall. He let go of my hand and pulled out a sit for me.

"Thanks."I didn't want to give him too much problem so I simply sat.

He did too and the Waiter immediately came for our orders.

"I will have a salad and water please." I ordered, even without looking at the men. I wasn't hungry but my body craved this outing hence the reason why I agreed to it in the first place.

"Sir what would you like to have?" The waiter asked, looking over at Noah whose eyes did not leave mine.

"Is she on the menu?" He motioned to me with a gesture of the head.

I chuckled, hiding the blush that was increasingly growing on my cheek.

The waiter shifted uncomfortably as his eyes looked anywhere but at us.

He was a small man, with golden skin and a small face which looked to be shy about love scenes. "Not really." He finally replied.

I could hear his heartbeat even from across the table and so I decided to turn around so he doesn't die of a heart attack.

Noah motioned for him to leave and he did almost immediately.

"You could have simply said you didn't want anything you know." I giggled.

He leaned forward on the table his eyes glittering with happiness. "And where is the fun in that?"

"There is no fun in making other people uncomfortable but that aside I was asking you a question before we walked in. Why do you speak like you know me?"

"You are the one who seems to want me to be somebody you know so eagerly."

I swallowed and looked down at my lap knowing that he was probably right.

I seemed to want every albino to be Scar. Tears started to form in my eyes and I breathed in deeply. I could not let them fall. What would this man think of me?

Scar had ruined my life when I was teen. He had lied to me, used me and still I couldn't stop thinking about him.

"Did you lose someone?" Noah asked, breaking the silence that soon ensued. The Waiter just then placed my order before me on a red tray and I smiled up at him.

He was about leaving when I stopped him and opened my bag. Taking out my purse I dug out a hundred dollar change and gave to him. "For your inconveniences."

"Thank you." His face lightened up immediately.

"So the bill?" I asked.

"After your meal." Noah interjected. The Waiter scurried away to serve someone else.

"You seem to come here a lot?" I asked as I started to dig into my salad. Immediately I tasted it a moan escaped my mouth. "This is so good."

"Everything here is so good plus it gives me a homely feeling. So tell me Mira, Who do I remind you of?"

Just hearing him call me sent my heart shivering bad. My salad accidentally entered the very wrong pipe. "Sorry." I coughed out as I took a gulp of water.

He was by my side immediately patting my back as he continuously whispered for me to calm down.

I Immediately got the intense feeling of De ja vu. As if something like this had happened before and with him.

When I was calm I looked up at him with teary eyes and my heart stopped at the familiarity in his irises.

"Are you OK?" He asked, staring down at me.

"Sure." I started digging into my salad again knowing that we had almost spent twenty minutes and I needed to get back to the interview.

He walked back to his sit and smiled watching me eat. "Has anyone ever told you that you are an angel?"

"New pick up line?" I giggled.

"Yea. How did it sound?"

I wrinkled my nose in fake disgust as I grinned. "Bad."

We both laughed as

he proceeded to tell me about the first day he had come in here and almost fell flat on his face.

He was such a breath of fresh air.
