I TOUCHED MY LIPS AND SMILED.
Yesterday was really awesome. Even though I had run away when the kiss lingered and I felt his fingers start to trail down my neck.
I couldn't give in to him yet I couldn't stop thinking about Noah, and invariably thinking about him made me think about Scar.
I tried not to but thoughts of them always aligned with each other.
There were so much similarities between them, not just in the way they looked, but in how they spoke and looked at me.
Noah was a little bit rougher on the edges with shorter hair and smoother skin, but it didn't take away the fact that he had purple eyes just like White Lion did and the same skin colour.
I needed to investigate more on their similarities. Only I didn't know where to start from. I didn't even know where he was buried, if he was buried .
So I settled for waiting around to see If I could get Noah to slip out and say something that could link me to Scar. Something that could help prove or disprove my suspicion that they were the same person.
I didn't want to act on just my instincts. I needed facts.
I still didn't know the truth about Scar and I needed to. I needed to know if Sophia was really telling the truth or not, since he never got the chance to tell me himself before he died.
I needed to know if he really did love me.
The next day at work I took a tour round the company and decided to make some friends just so I could have someone I could ask some questions about Noah.
I thought deeply about it and decided to make one of his secretary's a friend of mine. He had three but only one was young like me and friendly so I decided to go for her.
I was to submit a file to Noah in the afternoon after lunch following his specific instruction.
It was a file containing any ideas of promotions that I may have and any other information I felt he deserved to know. Like days that I would go on a vacation, and most generally things that I could and could not do.
I had typed them hard and fast on my Laptop only including Christmas as a period for vacation. I could work during easter.
I had the money yes but I still needed to work. I didn't want to look more sucked up and proud than I already looked.
I was done with it a day later and I went to work eager to see him again as I hadn't seen him yesterday.
After lunch I headed straight to his office with the file. I took a cup of coffee for the secretary and some snacks after I was done eating, as I noticed that she didn't come down for lunch which she had done yesterday.
She must be really busy, I thought.
When I walked into the office I found her seriously typing on her keyboard. She was going on and on, she didn't even notice me coming in.
"Hey." I smiled, dropping the tray of food on her desk while being careful not to spill the coffee on my documents or hers.
It took her five seconds to look away from the computer.
She glared at me then at the tray, then she looked back at me with her brows raised.
I shrugged. "I didn't see you come down for lunch so I figured that I should get you something. I think I saw you order this yesterday."
She hummed. She looked at what was in her tray then up at me again and smiled. "Thank you so much. I was starving but I have so much work to do so I couldn't leave. Thank you."
Her cubicle was in a mess unlike the others so I figured that she was the one Noah trusted the most.
"No problem. My name is Mirabel but everyone calls me Mira." I said, stretching my hands for her to take. "I am new here which you obviously know."
She took my hand in her warm small one. "I know. You work in the relations department as his PA there. I have been waiting to see the special one who the boss freed up his schedule just to type her employment letter. That has never happened and I am not sure if it will ever happen again."
My heart skipped a beat as I tried to hide the blush on my face.
"OK You do know a lot." I chuckled lightly.
"I do." She smirked. "I am Andrea by the way." She uttered, waving her hands slightly. Her nails were perfectly manicured. The purple nail polish she used in painting them fit her small hands perfectly. She was so slim and tall with long dark hair and blue eyes.
"A pleasure to meet you Andrea, hopefully we can have lunch together one of these days."
"I'm in." She grinned.
"I will just drop this document with the boss." I said, turning to leave. I couldn't wait to start work proper so I could have even more opportunities to get to know Noah.
"What's in this for you?" She suddenly asked. I whirled around with a raised brow waiting for her to expatiate on her question. "The food I mean." she added
"I am new here and I just need a friend that's all."
She smiled. "Then you got no worries."
I nodded and continued heading towards the door.
