The Gang Leader's Obsession

Chapter 166

Ch. 166 / 185 Jun 03, 2025

There was nothing so special about the restaurant.

Yet, As I worked in with my hands intertwined with Noah's I never felt so in tuned with a place.

It was beautiful even thought small. Painted in dark orange colors, beautiful in its simplicity.

Round orange tables were scattered around the small space and there was small counter by the far left which we met immediately the double doors opened.

There were boards on the wall and small flowers plastered on it as decoration. The windows were high up and the walls were slippery like blessings.

Noah led me to a small table at the end of the restaurant, in far view of the counter.

He seemed to want to be in private and away from people and so did I. Which was strange because it felt as if we wanted the same things and knew each other the same way.

All the other tables were empty so I presumed that they wanted to close since It was already past nine.

"Don't you think its time for leave.?" I asked, voicing out my thoughts.

He pulled out a chair and I sat, then he took a sit across from me.

The only light in the cafe now was from a few well placed bulbs. And as if planned the light focused on the man sitting across me now.

His skin was bright and his eyes a pool of light. He was beautiful in every sense of the world but most especially I could not get over the look of adoration in his eyes.

My heart skipped so bad as he blinked at me, giving me a huge smile that could melt a heart of rock. "They will make am exception for us." He informed.

As if on cue a waiter approached us and, without saying a word, drops two glasses on the table.

Then the small white woman pours us wine and leaves the bottle.

I gaped at the wine and back at Noah who had his eyes on me the whole time with that huge laid back smile on his face. "I wonder what gave you the impression that I would want to drink with you?"

He giggled, so cutely it tugged at my heartstrings.

He was so different from the man who had interviewed me, the man at work, the man all his workers had seemed to fear as he radiated so much power.

Now it seemed as if he was younger, freer, happier.

It felt like I was his.. His bane, yet the only thing that could free him from himself. As though I was something so special it was baffling.

I found myself smiling too even against the racing of my small heart which seemed to become weaker every moment I spent with Noah. "Was my question that ridiculous?"

He laughed more as he steepled his fingers on his lips in an attempt to stop his silent bouts of laughter. "You know you amuse me."

"That much is obvious." I smirked. "And Do I take it as a complement?"

His laughter seized a bit as he finally looked up and his eyes locked with mine. "You can take it however you chose to love."

"Love." I repeated after him, tasting it.

His baritone voice was deeper than Scars, where Scar's screamed danger his screamed something different. Power, yes, but something else.

Something almost peaceful but lacking the essential element of peace. The wrapping ingredient of it.

My smile dropped as my heart started to race hard. I looked over at the wine on the table and before I could stop myself I clutched it hard and brought it to my lips.

I took a small sip and swallowed hard knowing that his eyes never left me. The sweet and sour taste burnt my throat and helped in calming my nerves which seemed to be all over the place.

"Well." Noah took his own glass from the table and proceeded to take a sip from it without once looking away from me. "I was never much of an alcohol person but over the years I've come to need it."

"Is that what prompted you to build your own wine company?" I asked dropped the glass.

I intertwined my fingers together and placed them above my stomach. If I wanted to get any information out of him then I had to ask or he would tease me all night and that much was obvious.

He dropped his glass too and stared straight at me. His gaze was so piercing so damning I swallowed.

"Well my business was handed over to me. The wine, hotels, magazines and every other business of mine but that's a story for another day."

"Why is it?"

"Why is what?"

"Why is it a story for another day?" I clarified, narrowing my eyes at him. Daring him.

"Because I want us to talk about you or better still we could enjoy the silence while I stare at your beautiful eyes." He smirked, actually staring at them.

I swallowed hard as his eyes traveled down my lips and down to my neck which seemed to be showing with clarity how he affected me.

"You did promise to tell me all about yourself and honestly I hate a man who doesn't keep his word." I asserted.

He smiled and it sure as hell lightened up his entire features. "So what do you want to know about me? Mirabel?"
