My mother's eyes narrowed as she recognized Aurora and Alpha Brian. "You dare to show your face here?” My mother clenched fists.
Aurora smeared a malicious smirk on her lips, "I have come to settle things, Florida."
"You can't hide from the consequences any longer, Aurora. You are a wicked woman,” I yelled at her.
Before I could react, my mother stepped forward, fury blazing in her eyes, and blew hot.
"You have caused enough pain. It's time to pay for your actions."
My mum growled, her muscles throbbing like tightly wound springs. Aurora snarled, mirrored her, eyes locked in a fierce gaze. The students paved the way for them amidst tension.
Without warning, my mother lunged forward, her jaws snapping with lethal precision. Aurora dodged gracefully and mocked my mom's precision. My mom shifted to her beast while Aurora shifted to her brown wolf. The whole students made a 'startled wow' and awe-inspired.
What?? My mom was a Lycan. I could not believe this. I was told my mom was a human. I never could have thought of her as a Lycan. I stood on the porch, looking at the fighting duo with fascinating cliffs.
My mum's speed was unmatched, but Aurora countered with a calculated grace. The field was booming with the echoes of their snarls and the resounding impact of claws meeting fur. And I could just read the fear in Serah's eyes.
Aurora momentarily caught off guard, found herself at a disadvantage while my mother took the opportunity, her jaws closing around Aurora's foreleg. Aurora howled in pain, her instincts urging her to break free from my mother's grasp, but my mother held fast.
Just as Aurora felt the tide of the battle shifting against her, my mum began to summon strange abilities, enveloping a shimmering aura around her. I gasped in surprise as well as the students. Aurora's eyes widened with both awe and trepidation as she witnessed my mom's transformation.
“Mum!!” Serah screamed and aimed at them, but I blocked her path with my fists. Serah palpitated in anger, and withdrew, earning me applause from the students.
My mum released her grip on Aurora's foreleg. The shimmering aura around her blossomed, and Aurora could feel the strange power emanating from my mum - a force beyond the natural order of Lycanthropy.
"Enough!” Alpha Brian roared, his voice carrying the weight of authority, and pulled the combatants apart, my mother's breathing heavy and Aurora panting helplessly on the floor.
My mother, whose eyes were ablaze with righteous anger, spoke lethal,
"Aurora planned my kidnapping, tore me away from my daughter, and made her face hell. I demand justice for the suffering she has caused us.”
“Aurora did?” Alpha Brian sneaked in.
“Yes, Alpha. She did!” I answered, clenching to my mum's hem.
“Explain yourself. What is this about your kidnap?” The proprietor asked. My mum sighed, tears filling her brim then she started exposing dark secrets.
Gasps rippled through the students as my mum began to unwrap some dirty secrets of the territory and the rogues that withered her for years.
Alpha Brian's voice cut through the charged silence. "Aurora, your actions have shaken the very foundations of our pack. You orchestrated the kidnapping of Amaya's mother, and even made us hate her.”
One of the elders added with a hardened gaze. "Desperation does not excuse betrayal, Aurora. Your actions have consequences, and Florida has demanded justice."
“The council has reached a decision, Aurora. We hereby revoke your role as the pack doctor. And Florida is to step in as the new pack doctor,” Alpha Brian declared.
Gasps echoed through the students, and Aurora's eyes widened with disbelief.
Tears welled in Serah's eyes as she heard the heartbreaking news of her mum's transcend.
I hugged my mum so tightly and laughed in joy with her. Finally, I could now live my life freely without being on contract with Jeremy. I was free and glad.
The news of my mother taking over as the pack doctor sent ripples of anticipation through the students of our pack as well as our territory as a whole.
As Aurora took a step back, my mother stepped forward, a mixture of grace and authority emanating from her.
"Thank you all for the warm welcome,” my mother began, her eyes scanning the faces of the students gathered before her.
"Before we delve into the future, there are truths that need to be brought to light.” As soon as my mum mentioned that, I followed her gaze till it landed on Jason, the son of Alpha Brian.
"That should not be said here. You should be right away to your office. And the students should go back for training," Alpha Brian cut in, disenabling my mum from continuing her speech. Yet, Jason's gaze was locked with hers. There seemed to be something fishy going beneath that only my mum and Jason knew.
The students hurried back to their places of practice while my mum followed Alpha Brian and the elders out of the field. They were probably going to swear her in as the new pack doctor.
Dax walked up to me, swinging his arm, and smiling. "Hey, Amaya! Guess you love what you see...huh? Your mum is a superhero." He hung his arm over my neck, and my gaze met with Aya. She fixed her gaze on me not until I took his hand off my shoulder. Aya smiled from a distance. She was happy I just rejected Dax.
"Why?" Dax asked in embarrassment. Someone like him who was a lady's choice should not be rejected in such a way.
"You should be with Aya, Dax," I said to him and walked out of his sight.
