"I will ask you some questions, Amaya. And I would like you to tell me the truth!" Alpha Brian said, looking into my eyes.
"Alright, Sir!" I responded to him and bent my head down.
Alpha Brian stood in front of me, his eyes piercing through the shadows.
"Amaya, we need information about Alpha Jason's activities with the black rogues as claimed by you, and the bartender. What do you know?"
I took a deep breath, sensing the gravity of the situation. I had even forgotten about that scumbag liar, manipulator, and rebel, who hid under love to take advantage of me. "Jason knew about my attack, my mother's attack, and Serah's abduction. He confessed this at the party house that night," I said.
One of the elders chipped in. "We need clarity. Alpha Brian vehemently denies Jason's involvement in any of these wrongdoings you mentioned. Are you certain about the Alpha's claims?"
"That was not the first time Jason would say that. He also confirmed on the day he set me up at the party that he kidnapped Serah," I replied with a hint of certainty in my voice.
The elder with silver hair cleared his throat with a 'hum' sound and said.
"The timing is suspicious. Since Jason's detention, the black rogues' attacks have ceased. I think we have to work on this issue well before jumping to conclusions."
I furrowed my brow, looking at this wise elder through my brows. He knew Alpha Brian was doing everything to release Jason, claiming his innocence. But the fact that the attacks stopped after his detention raised questions, and the elder demanded an answer. Brian's face grew up in what seemed like anger as he stared at the elder.
"Amaya, we must shine a light into this matter carefully. You claimed that Jason knew about the abduction of Serah and information about your mum, but Jason is known to be a good boy. I don't think he could do such a thing," The other elder interjected.
"Amaya, we appreciate your insights, but we must investigate further. The truth behind the Alpha Jason's actions must be unveiled."
The office was so tense that I was told to excuse them while the heat of words continued to burn the ambiance. I overheard them as I was about to leave that Jason would be released if I didn't gather more proof about him being part of the rebel group. And that was why I needed Jeremy by my side. Only Jeremy could fight this alongside me, not Cena.
I walked out of the room, and a sense of unease pounced on me. The complexities surrounding Jason's detainment in the school's custody bothered me. The truth was, Jason was drunk on that very day he was called for questioning, so he made mention of some of those hidden facts he said to me. However, Brian disagreed because Jason was not known to be a drunkard. Therefore, Brian claimed all that happened to Jason that day to be under the influence of alcohol.
Cena was by the door side. Just as I stepped out, he jumped at my front playfully and whispered.
"So, we are officially sanctioned by the school to be lovers," Cena remarked with a hint of amusement in his voice.
I chuckled and responded.
"Yeah, Cena. Who would have thought our relationship would become a school business? It's unbelievable," I said, disbelief and acceptance coloring my response.
Cena moved closer to me and hung his arm over my shoulder. "Amaya, what happened to you? You seemed not to be happy. Don't you want us to date?
I sighed and nodded my head in disagreement with him. "I have personal issues on the ground that only Jeremy can help me out!" I said to him worrisomely.
"What issues could that be? Have you forgotten I am a Lycan? I should be able to do more than him," Cena praised himself.
"Jeremy could help me make sure Jason remains in prison, or else I will be haunted by the black rogues!" I steepled my fingers and said.
On hearing this from me, Cena assured me more about how he could help me fight the black rogues and also assured me that I would be saved. Meanwhile, this romantic moment did not pass the watchful eyes of Latina and Jeremy as we approached the field.
Latina's eyes narrowed as she observed us, and Jeremy, clearly agitated, approached us with a stern expression.
"Cena, what do you think you are doing with Amaya after her mother warned you to stay far from her?"
Cena raised his gaze and responded with a calm demeanor.
"The school proprietor sanctioned our relationship. We are free to date."
Jason's gaze shifted to me. "Amaya, your mother warned him. Why are you allowing this?"
"My personal life is not up for school scrutiny, Jeremy. The decision was made, and we are moving forward. It is not your place to intervene," I responded to him.
Latina stepped forward, smirk all over her face. "Amaya, we are just concerned. Your mother has valid reasons for wanting you to be cautious. Moreover, she knows you don't deserve Cena."
"Come on, Latina. Amaya deserves me. Even the flowers you gave to me are now hers. She is my world." Cena exposed, and Latina looked so embarrassed in front of us. I was forced to laugh at them as Jeremy and Latina exchanged embarrassing gazes.
"You gave Cena flowers?" Jeremy asked Latina, disappointment in his eyes.
"Oh, yes. She did. And also, Jeremy, the flowers you gave to me are now Cena's possession. He deserves it," I said, Jeremy's eyes rolling in disgrace. "You also gave Amaya flowers?" Latina gritted her teeth and asked Jeremy.
We laughed at them and walked out of their front to the school field where we had training, and enjoyed ourselves. I returned home that very day, hoping to have a rest after stressing out myself all day, but my mum didn't permit that. She warned me to stay far away from Cena and that her position as the pack doctor would soon be lifted if Jason won the case against us. Aurora had joined Alpha Briana on this matter. And the only person that could help us was Jeremy.
The next day, I sneaked out to Jeremy's pack before the school hour and asked for some vital information about Cole and Jason but he didn't reveal it to me. He insisted that we sign another contract on that else he wouldn't assist me. And that he had known his mistake for rejecting me and cheating on me. He had discovered that I was tricked by Jason and Serah on that very day. Latina later revealed that she was paid to come in that time so that Jeremy would have her. Serah was the one who added sleeping pills to my drink that day, giving Jason access to my body.
I understood him and tried to forgive him if not for his sake. It would be for the sake of my mother's job, but the school proprietor had already permitted me and Lycan Cena to date. If Cena noticed I was giving Jeremy another chance, he would report to the proprietor, and my mum would be accused of that.
Cena noticed I was bothered by this. He tried to make me happy by buying me gifts, dancing with me, and a lot more but it still didn't change my mood. I was under the tree behind the school. While our mates were practicing hard. I was there alone, thinking of how to iron out this matter.
Suddenly, Dax walked up to me with his hands clasped behind him. Ever since I shunned him that very day, he had been giving me these bad vibes, not wanting to talk to me, walk the same road with me, or maintain eye contact with me, but I was surprised to see him here smiling in front of me.
"Hi, Amaya!" Dax offered me his hand, still smiling.
"Hello, Dax!" I responded, smiling back at him.
"Why are you sad? Haven't I told you to come to me whenever you need my help?" Dax questioned, still smiling at me.
I sighed softly, looking into his eyes. Dax seemed to be the perfect person to help me. If I chose Dax to help me, the proprietor would not be able to penalize my mum for me leaving Cena because Dax would be a new man here. If it were to be Jeremy, then the proprietor would think it was my mum who was in control of my choice. But then, I had already promised Aya not to come closer to her mate, Dax. And she also would not allow him to come closer to me. But now I think I have to break my promises to secure my mum's job.
I should have met Aya and asked her to help me gather allegations against Jason but rumors claimed Aya was secretly in love with Jason. She would make things worse if I met her for help. My mum revealed this to me immediately after Jason was detained in prison. Aya was secretly aiming for Jason's release because of her secret crush on him. And this was just enough to break my promise.
"I must make sure Jason remains in that prison, otherwise my mum's position as the pack doctor would be lifted," I said to Dax.
Dax smiled and said, "I can help you to gather enough facts about Jason, but you have to be my girlfriend!" Dax opened up to me.
"Be your girlfriend?" I asked with bright eyes.
