Playboy Alpha and His Contract Mate

Chapter 37

Ch. 37 / 102 Jan 23, 2026

"We are ready to go look for Serah!" Jason said to the proprietor as he got to his front. Jason turned at me, his eyes fluttering with innocence. I don't think Jason could kidnap Serah. I doubt it.

"You better do, Alpha Jason. Look for my daughter from where you hide her, or else I will make sure you smell hell on earth," Aurora sparked hot.

"Alright, save journey. Make sure you bring her here because all allegations were against you," The proprietor whispered in Jason's ear. He nodded and looked into my eyes.

"I would follow Jason and find Serah!" I cut in. Jason looked at me, our eyes locked for some minutes, and I could see tears filling the brim of his eyes, but never dropping. A strong Alpha like Jason always controls their emotions unlike we mere humans.

"Thanks, Amaya!" He appreciated it, but I never responded to that. The little I could do was nod slightly.

"Amaya, are you sure of this?" The proprietor asked.

"I'm sure!" I said and dropped my bag on the desk. Despite my being determined to rescue Serah, Aurora never stopped sparing me bad gazes.

I followed Jason, my steps matching his determined pace. The shadows played on his face, revealing the turmoil within as we ventured into the unknown vast forest.

"Jason," I called, my voice soft against the rustling leaves in our path. He turned to me, and I was tempted to ask him a question.

"Why are they accusing you of kidnapping Serah?"

Jason sighed, his eyes reflecting a mixture of sadness and frustration, and responded,

"Aurora does not know that accusations won't solve anything. Moreover, I need to find her and clear my name."

"And thank you for assisting me!" He looked into my eyes and said.

"It's nothing, Jason. You have once helped me with the black rogues. It's time to repay you. If you are innocent of this, then let's find Serah and bring her back," I said to him, his face smearing with laughter, then I added.

"Maybe after that, you will find my missing mum." His eyes fluttered as I mentioned. He sighed and we continued walking. Moreover, the connection we shared, and the unspoken understanding, fueled my determination to stand by him.

The night became our ally as we executed our plan. I followed Jason at the back, my senses alert to any sign of Serah's presence, while the other men navigated the complex path of the forest to extract information that could unveil Serah's presence.

Suddenly, one of the men signaled at us as our paths met under the sprawling branches of an ancient maple tree. We stood in place, such that the only thing we heard was the scorching sounds of the birds.

Our eyes were focused, a silent acknowledgment that every step brought us closer to the answers we wanted as we heard faint voices from afar. I used my sound wave techniques to feel the presence of the kidnappers as per what was thought to me in the woods.

"Amaya, any sign of Serah?" Jason whispered, his voice tinged with urgency.

I shook my head, frustration bubbling beneath the surface, and whispered back,

"Nothing yet, Jason. But I feel she is not far from here."

As the night passed, we stumbled upon a path where I found Serah being tied up on a big tree. I made a signal and we climbed up the tree to save her. The kidnappers disappeared into thin air that we could not even get their traces. Serah was hung on Jason's arm while we returned to school. Jason told the proprietor how I helped his mission to be successful, and this brought more ego to my shoulders.

Jason started surprising me with gifts, food, and letters, telling me I was the most important thing in his life. Whereas, I only saw him as a tool to rescue my mum for I had a secret plan to find out secret words from his mouth.

I was in my room, preparing to sleep when Jeremy's voice echoed through my apartment. I moved outside and found him standing with his hands in his pocket. What else does he want?

"What do you want, Jeremy?" I asked.

"I am just so surprised you are being fooled by Jason!" He said.

"Fool as how?" I inquired.

"Jason planned all these! He used that as a strategy to win your heart. Serah was never kidnapped," Jeremy spoke with so much passion.

"What do you mean?" I asked him frantically.

"All were plans to win you. Jason never loved you, Amaya. He's a coward," He gritted his teeth and added.

"All were plans?" I was startled by Jeremy's words. My heart ached and I could not believe what Jeremy just said.

"Yes, Amaya. Be careful of him!" Jeremy pleaded.

"Thanks for your concern, Jeremy!" I appreciated him. Moreover, I was not giving him my heart. All I was doing was also a game. I was just playing along. I would not be able to execute my plan if I was not close to him.
