Playboy Alpha and His Contract Mate

Chapter 53

Ch. 53 / 102 Jan 23, 2026

First of all, Jeremy caught me cheating on him and asked her out the same day. She agreed instead of telling him NO. I overlooked it and moved on. Now what was she doing here with Cena? She was even painting my image black before him. I remained there so that I could hear more from her; at least, know how well she had hated me.

"Yes, Cena! I love you so much, and not Jeremy!" Latina said, trying to hold Cena's clothes, but he was pulling down her hands.

"But I saw you guys exchanging kisses in the restaurant that day!" Cena spoke.

"I was there for you. I never came with Jeremy. I only helped Jason to carry out an assignment!" Latina said. I raised my hand to my chest as I heard Latina's words. Was she about to reveal a secret?

"An assignment as how?" Cena asked with broad eyes, his eyes clocking with mine. I hurriedly took my face away as our gaze met, and walked away from the place as Cena had caught me eavesdropping on them.

I walked up to the school field heartbroken. I brainstormed on what assignment Jason could give to her, but still could not get it. But all I knew was whatever assignment Jason would give her would or would have hurt me.

"Looking for the Lycan boy?" Jeremy bumped into my way and asked. I sighed.

"Why are you disturbing me, Jeremy? You should be with Latina," I said to his face and walked out of his face, but he pulled me back to himself, our noses barely touching each other.

"You don't walk out of me, Amaya!" Jeremy scoffed, looking into my eyes, and then Latina's walking steps approached us.

"Hey!" Latina pulled Jeremy's hand away from my body, and said,

"You should mind the way you touch Amaya. She's now your Ex."

"I am just offering her a warning!" Jeremy yelled and walked away from me with Latina. Latina's hand hung in his arm. I stood there and watched the two liars as they walked up to the school field. Latina never knew Jeremy brought flowers for me some hours ago. Also, Jeremy never knew Latina was offering a beautiful rose of flowers to Cena.

"Good at eavesdropping!" Cena walked out of the place with flowers in his hand- flowers that Latina gave to her. He walked up to me, and we both watched the lovers walk away.

"Not really. I was going to have a quiet time!" I said to him.

"Hmmm! You never told me Jeremy was your Ex!" Cena said.

"Yea. He was my ex, not until he caught me cheating on him!" I answered phlegmatically, feeling ashamed of myself.

Cena hung his arm over my body. "You are not a cheater, Amaya. It was a setup."

"A setup?" I asked and swung my head expectantly.

"Yes. I just want you to be careful with Latina. She's very wicked, and could kill you," Cena warned me and stretched forth his hand containing the beautiful flower gifted to him by Latina.

"For what?" I asked, looking at him through my lashes.

"I am giving you these flowers, Amaya," Cena said, forcing me to collect the flowers.

"But Latina gave it to you!" I wide-eyed and said.

"You deserve these beautiful flowers, Amaya!" He said with a smile as I smelled the flowers.

I held Cena's hand and we walked together towards the school field. As we got nearer to the crowd, my gaze settled on Latina and Jeremy, holding hands. The moment Latina saw me and Cena walking out of the place, her eyes widened as they settled on the flower cradled in my hand. She stood up hurriedly so that Jeremy could notice her sudden change of mood. She walked up to the front unconsciously amidst the crowd while Jeremy followed her, sparing us gazes from afar. We finally got nearer to them.

"Hey, Latina," Cena greeted her, aware of the tension looming with each passing second.

Latina managed a strained smile, her eyes flickering between us and the flower. "Hi, Cena." Just after she noticed that Cena was behind her, she pretended as if she was seeing Cena for the first time today.

"Isn't it a beautiful day?" I offered, attempting to diffuse the growing unease.

Cena nodded, but her gaze lingered on the flower. "Yes, beautiful," she replied, her tone tightrope-walking between politeness and discomfort.

Cena tucked his chin and continued to share stories of our day - how I made him happy. Cena's eyes, however, betrayed a mix of emotions. Jeremy stood beside her, clueless about the internal heartbreak.

Latina's eyes met mine, and for a fleeting moment, I sensed the weight of unspoken words. "That is a lovely bunch of flowers," she managed, her smile strained with a shaking voice.

"Thanks, Latina. You know, you have a good eye for picking beautiful things," I replied with a crook smile, blissfully ignorant of the tension surrounding the innocent flower.

On hearing this statement from me, she excused herself abruptly, unable to bear the weight of the unspoken. "I... I need to go," she muttered, her footsteps quickening.

"Latina!" Jeremy said and ran after Latina.

I turned to Cena, and he threw me a thumbs-up. I smiled. "You never told me you are very good at responses!" Cena applauded. We both stood and watched Jeremy running after Latina who was now walking aggressively as if she wore fire sandals.
