( Her ability 1)
"That's not possible, Dax. I am now officially mated to Cena!" I said to him, steepling my fingers.
"Of course, it's possible, Amaya. Your mum never wanted you guys together. It's a big risk to your secret abilities!" Dax revealed. I gasped in shock after he landed. How on earth did he know about my hidden abilities?
"Who told you so about my hidden abilities?" I asked him. He chuckled and tucked his chin.
"I think that's not necessary. Almost everyone knows you have secret abilities in you. I sensed this the first day we fought," Dax spoke, I rolled my eyes at him.
"Deal?" Dax asked.
"Amaya!" Cena called my name from behind, rushing out to me. His face looked bothered as he landed in front of me. He turned to his side and flung Dax a bad look.
"Hey, Cena! Wasup?" Dax extended his hand of greetings.
Cena snubbed Dax's hand and said, "Do you think you can deceive all the girls in the school because of your fame?"
Dax smiled. "Of course, Yes. Don't pretend as if her mum likes you, Cena. The proprietor makes this work. You don't deserve her."
"Think about what I told you and get back to me before it's too late," Dax said to me and walked away with his hands in his pocket.
Cena smirked as Dax walked away. "Your mum sent Dax to break our bond!"
"How on earth could you say such a thing to my mother?" I screamed at him with wide eyes.
"I'm sorry!" He said in an apologetic tone.
"Let's go for training, Amaya!" Cena pulled my hands up to my feet. I interjected but he tickled me playfully and forced me to an area where we began to train.
"Show me what you got, Amaya. They said you are the best fighter in your class!" Cena said and challenged me for a fight.
"I can not fight you in your human form. I would like your beast to kiss my foot!" I didn't know what came over me, but I was so courageous to fight his beast.
"Accepted!" Cena shifted to his beast, his eyes glowing with an otherworldly intensity as he shifted into his beast form, muscles rippling and fur bristling.
"Ready, Amaya?" he growled, his voice grating voice sending shivers down my spine.
I nodded, my focus unwavering as I stared at him with boldness. "Ready as I will ever be, let's do this, Cena."
The first exchange of blows was fierce. I moved with agility, relying on my human form's speed and precision - those skills Douglas taught me in the forest. Cena lunged at me using his strength and ferocity to overpower me. I fell on the smooth grass on the floor, my muscles burning with exertion as I struggled to let go of Cena's grasp. In my struggle, something unexpected happened. A sudden surge of energy coursed through my veins, and the surrounding lights flickered and danced to my unspoken command.
The beam of light radiated out of my palms and pushed Cena away from me. Cena flew high into the sky as a result of the impact and fell on the floor. Yet, the beam of light was still coming out of my palms. I glared at the scenario with bright eyes as well as Cena who was now in his human form, just like ripples of the sea, the beam of light quenched, leaving traces in the sky.
"What just happened?" Cena asked, momentarily distracted by the shimmering lights in the sky.
"I have no idea, Cena. Did I do that?" I exclaimed.
Students started coming nearer to the field, exchanging astonished glances. Murmurs of surprise and speculation filled the air.
"Why didn't you tell me about this ability, Amaya?" Cena questioned.
"It's not something I knew about. Maybe my encounter with supernatural beings triggered it," I replied with genuine curiosity in my eyes.
Now I knew why my mum told me not to come any closer to Cena. My encounter with him must have triggered this to happen. Was this one of my abilities? Smiles escaped from my lips as I glared at my palms once again.
"That light control of yours is remarkable, Amaya! We have never seen anything like that before." Students muttered in awe.
My mother stormed onto the training field, her face etched with worry and anger. "Amaya!" she screamed, her voice cutting through the ambiance, and continued.
"I warned you not to get involved with that Lycan! Look what's happening now!"
The proprietor, elders, and Alpha Brian, quickly followed by a crowd of onlookers, approached us with amusing features as he tried to assess the situation.
"What's going on here?" he demanded, addressing my mum.
Before I could respond to the proprietor, Cena cut in.
"We were training, and nothing got out of hand. Amaya discovered a new ability, that's all."
"Let's all take a moment to breathe. Amaya explain this new ability of yours."
I hesitated, glancing at my mother, who still looked apprehensive.
"I can control lights. It just happened during our training. I didn't mean for it to be a cause for concern," I said, looking down as if I was doing something wrong.
The proprietor raised an eyebrow, intrigued by my words, "Control lights, you say? That's a rare gift, indeed."
My mother wasn't convinced as though she knew about it. She interrupted the proprietor.
"Rare or not, she shouldn't be involved with supernatural beings. It's dangerous."
The students murmured about my mother's concerns, while others were fascinated by the display of my newfound ability.
The proprietor, sensing the need for resolution, spoke with authority. "Amaya, your gift is extraordinary, but it comes with responsibility. You must learn to harness it wisely most especially in the next phase of the contest."
"Your daughter has shown great potential today, and we should encourage her to explore and understand her abilities. It's not every day we witness such unique talents. Let her explore more of her gifts, Florida. You should not hide it from us," one of the elders said.
"But..." My mum was about to make a sentence when Alpha Brian cut in.
"But what, Florida? Your daughter possesses a rare gift so she needed to utilize it. The students crowded me as the proprietor motioned me to his office alongside my mother. The news of my extraordinary gift spread throughout the school, and soon, more students, both the ones In my school and the ones that came for the contest joined the congratulatory chorus.
Alpha Brian was the first person to knock on our door the following morning. I overheard him telling my mother to make me marry his son, Jason, or my mother would lose her role as the pack doctor. He threatened my mother that apart from that he would make sure she was imprisoned for bringing bad names upon his son.
"Now that you have succeeded in launching your ability, you should be ready to face the consequences!" My mum said to my face as I was preparing to go to school.
"What do you mean, mum?" I asked her.
"Your abilities will make the black rogues look for you the more, most especially, now that you are a top figure in the upcoming contest, all the Alphas would do anything to make sure you marry their son," my mum said.
"I don't mean to bring all these troubles for you, Mum!" I said and hugged her so tightly as I saw the frustration on her face.
I got the idea that Alpha Brian wanted to make use of the advantage to make me marry his son Jason so that he could use me as a tool for his power. And that was the same thing my father craved for. Now that my ability was publicizing, I knew my dad would start haunting me around.
"You need to go back to Jeremy. He's the only one that can help you escape through this love with deceit," My mum spoke. I still didn't get why my mum preferred Jeremy over others.
"Jeremy, again?" I asked with wide eyes and continued.
"Cena loves me a lot, Mum. I am sure!" I assured her.
My mum said a lot of things to convince me just to go back to Jeremy, but I could not comprehend it. Jeremy and I had always been on contracts since the very beginning. I was just tired of him. Moreover, I was now in love with Cena.
I carried my bag and headed to school. Just as I got to school, Jeremy walked up to me. "Amaya, did you hear what happened?"
"What happened?" I asked, crinkling my nose.
"A group of black rogues came to our school this morning and rescued Jason from his prison. But I could help not recognize one of the men that came to rescue him," Jason said, evident in his eyes.
"Who is the guy? That would help us get the truth about this matter, Jeremy!" I said curiously.
Jeremy brought out a piece of paper in his pocket with a pen. "Sign the contract again! And then we start haunting after those bad eggs!"
