Jeremy screwed the hell out of me as usual. I didn't know why I always danced to his seduction. After the hot sex we had in the morning I decided to tell him about my plans. Maybe he never knew I was now leaving my mother to join my father as a rogue and oppressor in the forest. I and Jeremy had this unique chemistry. And that was the perfect reason why I chose him. Lest I forget, let me tell you the outcome of my meetings with the school proprietor on that day he asked me to see him in the office.
The school proprietor was now disappointed in me because he asked me to choose Cena as my mate. And up till this moment, he didn't tell me why he preferred an outsider to his student. I now believe the word of my mum that all those Alphas were looking for a way to get me into their pack whether by marriage or by post. There must be a secret chemistry between the proprietor and Cena. I could also remember one of the proprietors of the competing schools asked me to become his second Luna. But I refused, not minding how abundantly rich he was.
Jeremy was pulling up his trousers. I took a deep breath as I looked into his eyes. "Jeremy, we need to talk," I began, my voice steady, yet tinged with disturb.
Jeremy was caught off guard and furrowed his brows. "What's going on, Amaya? You seem... different."
I hesitated for a moment, then finally spoke, "I have made a decision, Jeremy. I am going to join my father in the forest as a rogue."
Jeremy's eyes widened, disbelief etched across his face. "What? Are you serious? Your father? Why would you want to do that?”
I took another breath, choosing my words carefully. "My father was the one behind my missing. There is something he has been trying to protect, something vital. I cannot stand by knowing the dangers he faces alone. I need to be there with him, and that's why I am telling you this."
Jeremy shook his head, trying to process the unexpected revelation. "But Amaya...you never told me you had a father somewhere!" He muttered.
"Yes, Jeremy. I saw him for the first time!" I sighed and responded to him.
Jeremy ran a hand through his hair, frustration on his face. He responded.
"This is insane, Amaya. You are asking me to accept that you are leaving everything behind, and for what? Some mysterious cause your father won't even talk about?"
I reached out, taking Jeremy's hands into mine, and reassured him.
"I know it's a lot to ask, but I need you by my side. I can't do this alone. Together, we can make a difference and ensure the safety of what my father is trying to protect."
"Amaya, I love you, but I can't just throw everything away and join you in some dangerous mission. We have a life here, plans for the future," Jeremy said, his eyes mean.
"I know, Jeremy. I don't expect you to make this decision lightly. But please, think about it. Consider what it means for all of us. I can't imagine facing this without you," I said to him, our hands still intertwined.
Jeremy sighed, a mixture of emotions clouding his expression. "I need time to process all of this, Amaya. It's a lot to take in," he said in a faint tone as though I was a bone in his throat.
I nodded, releasing his hands. "Take the time you need. I just hope you understand why I have to do this," I said to his face. Our conversation continued as I told him about my experience in the forest and the adventures I faced when three security men walked into our chamber.
"Amaya, we are sorry to barge into your apartment. The school principal needs you in the Supreme Court," one of them hurriedly said.
"What??" I asked with my hands in the air.
"Cena's case is becoming worse. And the proprietor is not taken this likely as he has a vow to deep down the root of the person that poisoned his drink," he responded.
We hurriedly left the apartment alongside the men and headed to the Supreme Court. As we got to the Supreme Court, my mum was seated on a chair alongside some lawyers while Aurora was seated with some of the lawyers too. The school proprietor was also in attendance, glaring at me as though I knew something about Cena's health conditions. But then, why was the school proprietor so concerned about Cena? Cena was just a stranger in our pack who came from his school to compete. And what was Aurora doing on that seat? Was she here to antagonize my mom? Aurora was doing what would return her to the doctor's seat.
"Yes, Amaya. Come forward and tell us what you know about Cena's poisoned drink!" The lawyers called upon me. I sighed and walked reluctantly to the podium, stealing my mom's gaze.
