Playboy Alpha and His Contract Mate

Chapter 52

Ch. 52 / 102 Jan 23, 2026

He grinned, attempting to play it cool.

"Just thought I would surprise you. I noticed you have been spending time with that Lycan, and I wanted to remind you of what you have."

He stretched forth the gifts, but I did not collect them as he had thought. I would not be moved by his bait. "Jeremy, you have a girlfriend. Why are you bringing me gifts?" I asked with a mixture of irritation and confusion.

Jeremy felt embarrassed as his hand remained in the air. He shrugged, avoiding eye contact with me. "Latina is out of town, and I thought you might appreciate the company."

"No, Jeremy. Ever since you chose Latina over me, I have decided to give you the distance you deserve. Moreover, this is not okay. I don't need your gifts, especially when you are in a relationship. It's not fair to Latina," I scoffed at his audacity.

He left, the gifts in hand, and as the door closed, I couldn't help but shake my head at the mess of emotions that seemed to follow me everywhere. I just needed to get rid of my left feelings for Jeremy. I slid my back against the door and sat on the floor. Steps walked up to me with the clocking sound of the spoon in a glass cup. My mum, Florida, walked up to where I was on the floor as she stirred her hot tea.

"Amaya! Why don't you take the gifts from Jeremy?" She asked, sipping her hot tea. I never knew she eavesdropped on our conversation.

"Mum, I don't want to have any relationship with Jeremy again," I said to her phlegmatically. She smiled and squatted down to my height.

"It's better you go back to Jeremy than to choose that Lycan boy as your second chance mate!" My mum said, a surge of irritation welling up inside of me. She also heard about the Lycan boy, Cena.

"But why, mum?" I raised my brows and asked indistinctly.

"The Lycan boy is a big NO. You are not fated to come a step closer to a Lycan. And as your mum and the pack doctor, I insist." My mum insisted with a breaking voice that showed how deeply she meant her words.

"Have you forgotten about the black rogues and your special abilities?" My mum's words were so deep that I could feel her hatred for the Lycan, but the reasons she tabled brought nothing but a huge amount of confusion. How could my abilities and my black rogues affect the feelings I had for Cena? Despite how close I was with Jeremy, I still didn't tell him about my hidden abilities, and I was sure I wasn't letting it out for Cena either.

"But I am not going to tell him anything, Mum. I just needed to get rid of Jeremy in my head ahead of the international contest," I said to her, maybe she would understand my point of view.

"I am not in support of that, Amaya. Pick up your game dress and head to school for training. And I must not see that Lycan around you," my mum said, and walked out of me.

I stood up and looked at my mum as she walked out of me as though falling in love with Cena was a crime. I didn't believe in all that she said. However, there was something that seemed fishy in her approach. I moved inside and picked up my bag for the game.

Thirty minutes later, I got to the school. There were some students seated close to the field. Immediately they saw me they started murmuring, calling me failure, and other bad remarks for coming last for the school in the first contest relay. I bent my head over and walked to an intricate area where I could sit alone. This open area was a no for the sake of my emotions. Apart from coming late in the last contest for the school, members of Jason's pack also hated me for allowing the school authority to detain Jason in prison.

"Amaya is not better than me, Cena. She is my friend and I am sure she hated you. Her mum would never allow her to marry a Lycan like you."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't you know Jeremy was her former boyfriend? Amaya is nothing but a cheat. Jeremy caught her sleeping with another guy during the last indoor party."

"Are you sure of what you are saying, Latina?"

Just as I was about to stumble at a corner, I heard these dolorous statements escaping the corner. Isn't that Latina, my friend, and Cena?

I took a bold but wise step forward to peep at the students exchanging those dialogues, and I was panic-stricken when I saw Latina with a bunch of flowers in her hand as if she wanted to propose to Cena. But why was Latina doing this to me?
