Without hesitation, I turned around just in time to catch a glimpse of dark figures in black dresses sneaking out from the shadows. My instincts screamed danger, and before I could comprehend the threat, an arrow sliced through the air towards me. Swiftly, I dodged to the side, feeling the rush of air as the deadly arrow passed by my head.
My heart palpitated in my chest as I assessed the situation. If I had not learnt this skill from Douglas then I would be dead by now. I startled and balanced only to see the black rogues, their faces masked with black veils. I was out of choice, and there was no time to think. Instinct took over as I sprinted away, weaving through the trees with the agility that Douglas taught me.
The rogues relentlessly threw arrows in numbers at me in their pursuit. Each missed arrow was a narrow escape. I wanted to run back to my mum's office but the chances of me surviving were slim if I took that route. The only routes available were Jeremy's resting place and the forest. If I take the forest route, they might end up killing me. No fighter fights best in the forest like the black rogues. The forest was where they lived from the beginning of their lives. Moreover, if I take Jeremy's route, I might be saved by him. I chose Jeremy's route and started running, screaming and panting as arrows were slicing the air mercilessly.
As I ran, my mind flashed back to my mum's statement a few minutes ago. She said my father was the leader of these deadly fighters. Could she be right? If yes, why did he want to kill me?
Another arrow whistled through the air, but this time it pierced my leg, and I stumbled forward, rolling down from the top. Suddenly, a hand grabbed me and clasped his hand over my mouth restricting me from making any scream.
"Amaya, it's me, Jeremy," Jeremy whispered, and I voiced a breathy murmur,
"We are not alone, Jeremy. Rogues are after me, and I don't know why."
Jeremy's eyes narrowed, his heightened senses alert to the potential threat. "Stay close, Amaya. We will face this together."
With Jeremy by my side, a sense of reassurance washed over me. The rogues, sensing our presence, intensified their pursuit. Arrows flew through the air once again, but with Jeremy as my shield, we dodged and Jeremy strode out.
Amid the pursuit, Jeremy's voice cut through the air,
"Amaya, there's something you need to know. The rogues, they're not after you randomly. It's something deeper, a secret that connects you to an extraordinary realm."
I turned deaf ears to him and pretended as if I was innocent of why they were running after me. After so many minutes of running, Jeremy slid into a cave, panting restlessly. He laid me down gently, his amber eyes meeting mine with a mix of concern and tenderness. "Are you okay, Amaya?"
I nodded, my breath uneven, and clung so tightly to him, and responded,
"I am now, thanks, Jeremy!"
He brushed a strand of hair from my face, his touch sending a soothing wave through me.
"We're not far from our border. We'll be safe there," He assured, his eyes locked with mine,
"Take a moment to catch your breath, Amaya! We will face whatever challenges come our way together," He whispered, and reached for my hand, his touch sending a comforting warmth through me.
His thumb traced gentle circles on the back of my hand, and a soft smile played on his lips.
"Amaya, no matter what happens, you are not alone. And that's the importance of the contract!" He giggled.
I leaned in, capturing his lips with mine, and exchanged soft kisses. In that intimate exchange, the worries inside of me plus my wounded foot flushed away, leaving only the strong sensation to pull between us.
As the kiss deepened, we pulled away from each other. My gaze met him, and his eyes reflected a mixture of lust and curiosity.
"What is it, Jeremy?" I whispered to his ear, biting a little portion of it.
His expression shifted, the amber of his eyes flickering seductively. He breathed, and said in a calm tone,
"I love you, Amaya. With every beat of my heart, with every fiber of my being. You're my mate, and I will protect you with everything I have," Jeremy sounded so serious for the first time. I could see how real he was in his eyes. Blood dripped from his neck as we maintained eye contact. He was probably injured while he was trying to save me.
I felt a surge of emotion between us, most especially, as I watched him drip blood. I must commend him.
"Jeremy," I whispered, then continued,
"I love you too". He smiled and choked me with his kisses, stroking my butt and boobs up and down.
In that quiet moment, he pushed his middle finger into my pussy and went back and forth in it. I moaned softly as his touch made me dispense with some river Jordan down there.
He pulled out his hard rod, and stroke it on my butt, yet, he was kissing every part of my body. He pulled my pants apart and rested his tongue on my honeypot. Air rushed to my brain, and my breath stopped over his action. He kept on licking it till I slid his rod into my pussy myself. Then he started screwing me so badly till we both exploded in a release.
"Amayaaaaa!!!!" My mum's voice screeched like a grating sound. I hurried up and put on my pants while Jeremy pulled up his boxers. Then we came out of the cave only to see my mother standing in front of us with soldiers.
"Mum!" I ran to her and hugged her.
"I was scared when I heard the black rogues come to attack you!" She said while I was still in her embrace.
"Yes, mum. He saved me!" I said and pointed at Jeremy who was now looking like an idiot.
"Yes, I saved her!" Jeremy smiled like a superhero.
"What's your name?" My mum asked him.
"I am Jeremy!" He responded.
"Is he your mate?" My mum asked. I looked at Jeremy, and we locked gaze.
"Yes!" Jeremy responded. My mum looked at me, and I nodded too, "Yes!" I rolled my eyes at Jeremy.
"Thank you, Jeremy, for saving my daughter!" My mum waved at him. Jeremy bowed his head in response.
Suddenly, we heard some legs approaching us. It was Jason, the proprietor, and some elders. Jason's eyes grew sour as he saw my mum smiling at Jeremy.
