Chapter 71

Ch. 71 / 150 Sep 27, 2024

My heart was racing when my eyes snapped open. Instead of cold metal, I felt something velour beneath me.

My gaze shot at the white soft fabric beneath me. I wasn't in the chamber I found myself in after waking up from our accident. It was a different place. The walls were made of shiny black stones, the floor was creamy stone. There wasn't much furniture but the bed was laying in the centre and side tables on both sides.

"My lady, I'm glad you're awake." I was startled, hearing an unknown female voice. My head jerked at her. Her eyes were big black eyeballs, pointed ears, and nose, long hair braided and rested on one shoulder of her. Her round small face was innocent but I knew they were wicked.

"Who the h*** are you? I... I was in a cage and now?" I darted my gaze around for more wicked people.

" Queen Elizabeth will be here shortly. Don't panic, my lady." She forced a smile. But she looked scared.

I snorted, "I'm not going to harm you. Where's your f***** king. I'll kill him." I said in anger.

She gasped, her hand shot up to her mouth. She took steps forward and shook her head at me, "Don't say this. Someone would hear you and slay. " She said in dread.

"Emma," My head jerked at the sound.

My Eyes dilated. My jaw dropped. She was wearing a silky silver gown, jewellery, perfect makeup, she was looking like a queen.

"Betty, what the f*** is all this?" I snapped.

A gasp arose from behind her. I didn't see the half-dozen maids trailing behind her.

"We're not in King Kelstov's kingdom anymore." She said.

I arched my brows, "What the heck is happening?" I was so angry. First I found myself in a cage and now I was resting in a luxurious bed-chamber.

"They kidnapped us. Just two of us. " Her gaze turned glassy.

My feet touched the carpet and I rushed toward her. The maids blocked my path. They were carrying lances and they pointed at me.

"I'll kill you all if she gets a nick." She bellowed in anger, yelling at them.

They bowed their heads, pulling the sharp edge back, "She could have harmed you." One of them speaks.

"It's your king who's hurting me." She snapped and paced forward, "I don't know where they are all? I can feel Edward but I can't contact them. He has cast a spell on me. " She whispered in my ear, hugging me.

"Who?" I asked.

"King Ricinus of Beltano." She muttered, pulling back, "Are you hurt? Your head was bleeding. Thanks to Aubrette, the ring saved you." She said, breathing.

I touched the side of my temple and nodded when it wasn't hurting anymore, "I should call Burt." I muttered, relaxing to find the ring on my finger.

She nodded, "He's the only hope." She said, "If we couldn't get any help. I have to marry him."

"But you have taken the oath." I winced.

"That saved us for a week." She said.

"A week! I was unconscious for a week?" I squealed. Dread crawled me.

She nodded, "He would break the oath now with his magic as you've regained your consciousness."

Several footsteps rang. We turned to face the door. Two queues of arms soldiers strode in, standing against the wall. My heart beat in my chest.

A hundred questions whirled around my mind. The king came into view. The Faerie king stood almost six feet tall, his thick hair hung down touching his shoulders. His mouth spread into a grin, his dark blue eyes rested on Elizabeth and turned to me.

"Beloved friend of my Queen finally came to her consciousness." His hands joined back as he paced forward.

"How dare you kidnap us?" I stared at him, my voice was sharper and full of anger.

His eyes glinted. I felt the need to pull back. He was dangerous, "You were dying. My people saved you." He said, still smiling for show.

"You are the one who caused it," I thinned my lips.

His brows drew together, "We should start the ceremony to break the oath." he said.

"It can't be when she's under spell and sick," Elizabeth spoke. She was earning time. We couldn't wait any longer. If they couldn't find us within a week, I didn't expect them to find us now.

King Ricinus thinned his lips. A white-haired fae soldier appeared from around the corner. He halted a few steps behind him. There was a red cloak hanging from his shoulders. He was flanked by dozens of soldiers who stayed on the other side of the room.

"Our faes have found the way," His lips split into a smile.

"What do you mean?" Elizabeth asked, taking a small step forward.

I pursed my lips and glared at him, "If you don't want to get in trouble. Let us go," I told him.

"Prince Stipe, my younger brother will marry your friend." King Ricinus said.

I held my breath as I stared at him in shock.

"You're..." His glare cut Elizabeth off.

"She'll be under a curse if she will be his mate. After the wedding, she will be one of us." He said.

"He's f***** crazy." I clenched my hands in my hair, "Burt! Burt!" I said out loud in terror.

I would love to die with a curse instead of marrying him.

"Don't be a fool, Queen Emersyn. The curse has taken your eyes and it's just the beginning." Prince Stipe said, taking a stride forward.

I pushed myself back, "I don't care. I don't know you. I won't marry you." I shuddered, staring into brown crystal eyes, his calm demeanour reflected confidence that he would be obeyed, "I won't obey you." I muttered.

His lips tilted up, "I don't like boring things." He whispered. His hand remained on the hilt.

"I'm Dastien's mate," I said.

"You're in Fae Realm, Queen Emersyn. He won't come for you." King Ricinus smirked.

My gaze darted around. His calm nature, his words, this place, everything was infuriating me, "Get out!" I snarled.

Stipe removed his helmet, his armor seemed heavy. He strode toward me, expression blank, "You will be mine," He spun on his heel and marched down the hallway with his companions.

Tears welled in my eyes. I couldn't be his.

"Wedding is tonight." King Ricinus said. He left the room. His soldiers marched behind him.

"They are crazy," I yelled.

"Yes, crazy for power," Elizabeth muttered, sadly.

"Where the h*** is Burt?" I yelled and he appeared in thin air. The tension around my shoulders eased a fraction at his sight. He hadn't abandoned his teenage look.

The maid let out a scream and stared at him in horror.

He bowed his head to us and opened his mouth. I was ready to shout at him.

But Elizabeth spoke, "Ask King Kelstov to help us." She blurted.

He nodded and looked at me, "Why him?" I asked.

"They are Faeries. Dangerous. I didn't wanna put anybody's life in jeopardy. Only a king can defeat them." Elizabeth said, glancing at the door.

"Go ahead. I just wanna get rid of Faerie Realm." I yelled, tears of anger welled down, "Do it." I told Burt.

He bowed his head and disappeared again.

The maid was already on her heels to tell her king. When we were alone, "Can't you shift and get us out of here?" I asked her.

She shook her head, "I can't risk my wolf. They think I'm mute like you." She inhaled.

I stared at the four-poster bed draped in white curtains, "I hope you'll surprise them soon." I muttered.

"I wanna do it, too. But not under danger." She whispered.

I nodded. My gaze set on my reflection. I was wearing a cotton creamy gown. I whirled on my heels, "It's a beautiful dress," I said, glancing at the border of my dress.

"I know. you'll like it. Auntie told me you like dolls." She said.

I averted my gaze away from my dress and sat next to her, "He brought me one. That was the last doll I have." I said.

"Mr. Dawson." She muttered.

I nodded, "How can I sleep for a week?" I asked her. I couldn't ignore the current situation.

"They thought you were in danger and one of the faes put you in deep sleep. First I thought, you died." She inhaled deeply from her mouth.

I yawned again, "I should sleep again. I can't hold myself any longer. My back is in pain."

"Lay down. It would delay your wedding. It would take them hours to reverse the spell." She suggested.

"I'm not marrying him." I recline my head on the pillow. I was holding the hem of her cloak. I didn't want her to go. No one knew. What would they do?

"A mirror could be a portal too," She said.

I glanced at the mirror, "You mean. Ricinus?" I asked.

"Yes," She nodded.

"Can he see us from this mirror?" I asked.

"Yes, the same one is in my bedchamber too." She whispered.

"We shouldn't share our secrets. I wish you could talk to him" I pressed my index finger against my temple, "You know," I asked her.

Nodding, "Yes, I know." She patted my arm, "Go to sleep. I wouldn't leave your side."

Smiling, "I know," I closed my eyes. I believe they would come to save us.

Blood drained from my face, my heart was hammering in my ears when I opened my eyes. The sight wasn't clear. But the curtains were on fire. Wolves were running in the hallway.

I slithered my hand on the bedsheet. It felt cold and solid. I rolled on my back. My body felt heavy to me. It hurts to move. The air above me filled with rainbows, many colors were sparkling in the air. I saw wings. I forced my eyes to open properly. I saw King Ricinus and King Kelstov with cold expressions, their hands shot in the air. I smiled seeing beautiful colours in the air.

I gave them a half-hearted smile when I stared at cold eyes, "Alex..."

I felt myself lifting, "Don't sleep." His voice held the command.

I pressed my cheek against the warmth of his shoulder. I grimaced when I felt skin. Using my entire strength, I pushed myself away.

"Stop! You'll attract them toward us." He commanded again.

I felt myself sobbing, my cheeks wet.

"Emersyn, I won't hurt you." He used my full name.

He was helping me. I knew. He was shirtless. I didn't want to know. Was he wearing trousers? I caught the sight of fire behind him. More figures followed us. They were werewolves. I closed my eyes when I saw their bare chest.
