I asked for the car keys from Mary. She gave it to me immediately. She was in the kitchen and talking about the place where we were going.
"So.." Drake was toying with his car keys, "It's different from King created?" He asked Mary.
"Yes, it was generated by the Queen of light, centuries ago," Mary replied.
"Em, let me drive." Silver said. She had changed into a pair of jeans and a tank top.
I handed her the keys. Elizabeth was looking at me. Her gaze was demanding one thing. I shook my head.
"You girls need to talk," Edward said. His hands were fisted over the table.
"Nothing to talk about. She's not coming. After meeting your granny, I could imagine crude King Kolstov, he must be a bundle of tricks and lies. Light faerie can't lie or make fake words, it will cost them their lives." I told them.
Elizabeth glared at Silver, "You told her?"
"No, I asked your mother," I said.
"I wanna help. Your eyesight is weakening." She said, looking straight into my eyes.
"Promise me. You won't marry him or any such promise which will lead you away from your happiness. Your mate! " I said, turning my gaze to Edward. He was a crude person with anger issues but he loved her so much, he endured me around him because he cared for her. I didn't know their past but they were made for each other.
"Ok, I'll give you my words," Elizabeth said.
I shook my head, "You need to oath." I smiled.
Her green eyes jerked at her mother, "You can't tell her everything,"
"Silver endangered her life for me," I said but Silver cut me off.
"That's what friends do." She pursed her lips, her eyes staring at me.
"You should think about Alessandro." It brought sadness and guilt.
"You can't stop us worrying about you." Elizabeth snapped.
"Have you ever thought about how I feel when I want to help but can't?' I asked her.
" It's not your fault if you're cursed." Silver placed her hand over my shoulder.
I was taken aback when I felt her wolf comforting mine. It was impossible.
"You're a werewolf, Emma." Mary said when she felt my shock from behind the counter, "A Queen,"
Tears welled up, "I don't feel like a queen but a burden and sometimes, an outcast." I sighed and walked to the door. Tears dripped down, trailing against my skin, "You can come if you are ready to oath," I said before sprinting out.
I blinked the remaining tears but the sight didn't get clear. I was losing my sight. Soon, I'd be blind.
Silver unlocked the car, "Auntie said. We have to walk through a jungle. I'm thinking of buying new shoes." She said, coming from behind.
"You know better than me," I told her, getting in the passenger seat.
"Can I drive?" Daniel asked, striding toward us.
She shrugged her shoulders and gave the keys to him.
I have hurt her but she can't give up because of me. They call me a queen. I genuinely don't feel like one. They don't own me a damn thing. Still, they're doing everything for me.
"We're going to the Fae Realm. Ain't you excited?" Daniel asked me.
I shrugged my shoulders, "I don't know how to react when my eyesight..." I smiled. He did not need to get sad over my sorrows, "Don't tell my parents about it. They'd freak out." I chuckled.
"It's not funny," Daniel said.
My laugh died when Edward walked over to the car. He opened the door by my side, "Can I sit here? " He asked.
I nodded and climbed down immediately. He opened the door for me, "Thanks," I glanced at the doorway hoping to see Betty but she wasn't there.
I climbed in, sighing softly. Edward got in. I could feel the awkwardness in the air. He could not be here without a reason.
Daniel turned the keys and drove out of the parking.
"You don't need to worry. I won't allow her to do anything for me." I said to him.
I should accept it in front of him before he starts to threaten me . It would be a mess as Drake was also here. We had been at the worse before. He yelled at me. I yelled at him back.
"You should let her come with you," He said with calamity.
My jaw dropped, "That can't be." I said.
"She'll reject me. I felt it." I felt his pain.
It got difficult for me to sit and breathe, "Stop the car, Dan." I said, "I can not go." I shoved my purse in Silver's hand and turned to the door.
He pulled over immediately. His gaze swept over us through the rearview mirror.
"I'm coming with you," Silver pushed herself to the door behind me.
I jumped out of the car and sauntered to the door. I stormed inside. I couldn't mask my frustration. I frowned at her when all heads turned to me.
"You're not coming with us without an oath. Oath not to leave your mate or reject him ever." I said, angrily.
Her face blanched, "I was just thinking in case,"
Mary gasped, "He's your mate, Betty."
"You won't be my friend any more then," I said. That was true.
"Mine, too," Silver said.
Elizabeth stared at us with watery eyes. It hurt but I wasn't going to wrap my arms around her, "I need to go somewhere away." I muttered.
"Backyard, no one will disturb you," Mary said, understanding me.
I gulped and nodded my head.
"I need to run," Silver said. Her sad gaze lingered on Elizabeth.
"It's safe in the backyard. It's attached to the wood which is our private land." Mary whispered under her breath.
We drifted toward the backyard silently. My gaze darted at various kinds of flowers and thick trees surrounded us. Butterflies in the air. Nothing could cheer me up.
"Hold this for me," Silver handed me her jacket.
I grasped it and turned to sit under the tree. She shifted into a beautiful silver wolf.
"Don't eat butterflies," I smiled but it lasted for a few seconds.
She let out a slow sound that I couldn't understand. She began to run in the woods. I sat against the trunk of a tree and glanced at her. She even jumped in the air to catch butterflies with her paw.
"I'm ready to oath." Elizabeth towered over me, her expression was sad.
"Sit," I said, looking back at Silver. Her amber gaze was on us.
"We need a fortune Fae." She said, sitting next to me.
"Is there any kind of faeries or fae?" I asked in surprise.
She nodded, " Fortune fae deals with cards, tells the future and they hate to be touched." She said, her shoulder brushed mine. A white sparkle spread around me. My vision got clear.
"And you?" I asked.
"I'm a light fae, powerful, dangerous," she ran her fingers on the grass.
I chuckled at the dangerous word. She smiled, "I don't believe - dangerous," I murmured.
"You should. I could kill Samantha with my power. I was thankful my wolf took over that day and saved her." She looked relieved.
"I understand. She's your friend." I said.
"She was," She murmured gloomily.
"Friendship never dies," I told her.
"Our friendship will never die." She turned to Silver, "You're also included, Silver." She said out loud.
"She must be complaining. Wait for a second, can you hear her. Only mate and Alpha can talk to his pack members in the head." I said in astonishment.
She shook her head and rubbed her first two fingers and thumb, "I used my powers." She got on her feet and paced forward, shifting.
I wish to do the same one day. A slow smile crawled over my face. At least, I could see them.
After an hour of sitting, my stomach growled, "I'm hungry. I'm going back." I said to them, Their heads turned to me. I saw them. playing in their wolf form.
I was holding a smile when I turned to home. I saw a man, looking at me. His dressing sense was different from everyone. With his blue cloak, he was standing out of the rabble, his face was devoid of features
Before he could move, I thought to run in. Silver and Elizabeth came behind me.
"Why is he looking at you?" Silver scowled at him.
"He came from the Royal court," Elizabeth muttered under her breath.
The stranger walked over to us and bowed his head after halting his feet, "Queen Elizabeth," He said in a deep voice.
I chuckled and covered it with my mouth, "See you guys," I thought walking into the house when I couldn't hold my smile.
"Offshoot of the royal court," Silver muttered, walking along with me.
"Hi, you can't leave me alone. " Elizabeth shouted from behind us.
We chuckled, "We should send Edward," I said
"Should I bring them back, my lady? " I spun at the stranger's words.
"Try that, you a**h***," Silver snarled, stopping on her heels.
The stranger's eyes dilated in shock.
Edward was on his way toward them, "What's the matter?" He demanded in his deep voice.
"Mr. Morris, " he turned to Elizabeth," I'm here to inform you, my lady. My king would like to see...." Silver cut him off.
"She's not your lady," Silver yelled.
I laughed wholeheartedly. My laughter brought Mary out. She raked her gaze on us and a soft smile appeared on her lips, "There are sandwiches on the table," She told us.
"Thanks, auntie," Silver tugged me inside the house. But she didn't forget to glare at him.
We glided toward the table. My sight got more blurry. My feet halted. I couldn't see her face clearly.
"Silver, I'm exhausted. I should go and take a nap," I told her.
"Um, okay. But." She picked a sandwich and gave it to me.
I took it from her hand and turned to the stairs. I was watching my feet, careful not to stumble. The hope of it would end soon, I was trying to keep the tears of the hurt away, "Thanks, " I began to climb the stairs.
"We shouldn't leave Betty alone," I heard Silver.
"Edward is with her. We can go," I told her, stopping, still my back on her.
"No," I began to climb stairs again. I took a bite of the sandwich. I smiled. It was delicious. I should thank Mary. It was my volition not to tell anyone.
I finished my sandwich and laid back. I couldn't cry no matter how hard I needed it. I was hoping to become acquainted with my wolf. I closed my eyes. It felt better this way.
