Fire Wolf Series

Chapter 123

Ch. 123 / 150 Sep 27, 2024

I almost jumped out of my skin when I felt arms around me. My eyes searched my surroundings in the dark. I wasn't a wolf. I needed light. I pushed on his hard chest to get myself free from his stronghold. His arms kept me close to his warm and strong chest. I couldn't break the hold.

I prolong my hand toward the switch. I kept my arm stretched out until I felt it and turned them on.

My chin rose and my gaze locked with his amber gaze. He was looking at me with an expression on his face.

"How dare you to be in my room. How dare you touch me!" I shouted in anger, tears pooled my eyes. The sight of him brought the pain back.

His hold on me was firm. His scent worked on me. The pain, hurt vanished. The tears dried from my eyes.

He withdrew his hand. "It's still night. Go to sleep." He ordered.

It angered me more. "Get out of my room."

"Not happening, mate. He looked out of the window and there was no light in the night.

" Don't call me that. You rejected me. Should I clap for you?" My voice broke.

"I'm explaining only once to you. I'm scared of losing you." My heart pounded in my rib cage. What was he doing to me? "And I didn't reject you. That was the heat of the moment."

"I don't think so." I shouted in agony. She told him and he did this.

"You won't be breathing then, mate." He muttered, tilting his head to one side. Yes, in our immortal world, we can't live without our fated one. We can't be like some selfish people like him Who tied the knot before they could find the other half part of the soul.

He looks so cute and my stupid heart is attracted to him. I laid down on the bed showing my back to him. "Get out of my room." I closed my eyes. Hoping he would take the hint and leave me alone.

Sadness engulfed me when he shifted on his feet. He was leaving me. My eyes widened in shock when he curled his arm around my waist and tugged me to his chest.

"Go to sleep, mi corazón." His soft words worked like ointment on my heart.

One year! He would pick to reject me again. He's going to be my death. My lower lip begins to tremble. I fought back the tears.

He held me until my tears dried. Darkness filled the room, the faint light behind him giving no features away.

I couldn't believe he had the balls to come here after what he did.

He growled behind me as he would have heard me. " Emersyn," Something clenched inside me. I never heard him saying my name.

I closed my eyes. I was grateful that he was with me. Though, I wanted to throw him out of the room. I was frightened of falling into the dark again. He, I didn't know his name, must be tired of saving me again and again.

My eyes cracked open, I saw his calm face. The dim light of early morning was coming from the opened window. It's a dream. I told myself. snuggling my face close to his chest, he smelled good and so warm. It's very comfortable. I closed my eyes again and drifted off.

I groaned in annoyance as a loud tap came on the door. The first thing I felt was my headache. It was hurting like hell with the memories from last night. A single tear ran down my cheek. I wasn't bothered to wipe it.

"Sweetie, breakfast is ready. I've cooked your favorite sandwich and chocolate cake." Her sweet voice came from the other side.

I got on my feet and rushed to the door. Yanking it open, I threw my arms around her neck. She was taller than me. I fought against the tears. "I was missing you." I muttered in a cracking tone.

She kissed my head and embraced me. " Did something happen?" She asked, drawing her face back.

I pulled my head back and shook my head.

Her amber eyes examined my face. "You cried. Are your brothers troubling you?" The softness was gone from her features. She glanced at the stairs in anger.

I couldn't lie to her. She would scent it. "I found my mate."

She wasn't looking excited to know more. "And? Did he hurt you?" she swiped her thumb under my eye.

"He's the new king. And I'm just a human. He's going to reject me." I nibbled on my lower lip. I wasn't telling a lie but I didn't want to tell him the truth.

"Darkice?" A soft frown appeared on her forehead. "That's why he's down in the living room. I thought it's a meeting."

"I..." I hesitated. It was quite difficult that I considered. I'm confused.

"I'm very happy for you. But your swollen eyes are scaring me. Did something happen, sweetie?" She asked.

"He's the king. I'm just a human." Tears burn in my eyes.

She cupped my face and shook her head. "Emma was also a human. She was happy with him. It would take some time. You'll love this new bond of your life." She flashed her encouraging smile.

He will leave me when I turn eighteen. I nodded my head. "I'll be downstairs in ten minutes," I told her.

Nodding, she turned and took the stairs. I was thankful to my brothers that they didn't say a word to her. I headed to the bathroom taking a quick hot shower. My mind is stuck in that he is still in our house and nobody has asked him to leave.

I rolled my eyes. Why would anyone ask him to? He's The King.

Huh!

Picking out an outfit for today seemed hard. I wanted to prove him wrong that being my mate wasn't that bad. I wear a white tank top and my favorite ripped jeans. I put on a little makeup. I grabbed my favorite mist.

"No perfume," I heard a loud shout of Drake. I used it daily while going to school.

I love various kinds of mists. But the sensitive noses of wolves around me prohibited me from using them.

I wanted to shout back. But he didn't need to know me and my reactions. I grabbed my backpack. I walked up to the door and twisted the knob.

When I reached downstairs, he was already sipping from his dark coffee. He glanced at me from over the rim of his cup. My cheeks heated.

I averted my gaze away immediately. I slid in my usual seat. He was seated in front of me. He placed the cup down. His gaze never left me.

Feeling awkward, I darted my eyes at all faces. They were having breakfast giving no attention to me.

"I thought. We should go out to shop. What do you say?" Mother asked.

I wanted to disappear. "Mom shopped for me. I haven't even looked at them." I told her.

"Oh, okay. Then I should go out with my friends."

"Sounds good." I told her, smiling at her.

"We have a match this evening. Wanna come to see us, kid?" Jasper asked.

"What match?" I took a sip of my milkshake. I love the raisins in it.

"Basketball,"

"I'm in." I smiled at them. My eyes met his golden eyes.

What's wrong with him? Yesterday, he was rejecting me, showing me out of his life while I was just about to knock on the door of his heart. Now, he's looking at me as if he couldn't take his eyes off of me. The word reject installed fear in me. I shouldn't be disappointed. Why would he want someone like me? I was going to increase his troubles. I mean I couldn't protect myself in any danger. He's the one made for me and he doesn't want me.

"You're not eating." She said with a frown.

"I'm not hungry." I told her, emptying my glass.

"You'll get sick." She used her scolding tone.

"Can you pack some sandwiches, please? Aidan loves them too." I added, reminding how he was praising them when he tasted them.

"I'm packing your breakfast separately. You have a small stomach. I didn't want you to wander around an empty stomach. You'll finish it yourself." She got on her feet and turned around to go into the kitchen.

"I'll make sure she eats." Darkice said, surprising me. Shouldn't he let me die of hunger? It would be easy for him. He wants strong mate like Grace.
