Chapter 115

Ch. 115 / 150 Sep 27, 2024

After our classes, we got back to the cafeteria. Sisily was looking worried like hell. She wasn't paying attention to anything.

"Your worry is spoiling your present. No matter what, you have your friends at your side." Aidan said.

I waited for her to look up at us. She hadn't touched her meal yet. "Jace is waiting for me. I should go and talk to him." She drew herself up.

"Please, take it with you." I gestured at her tray.

She looked at our concerned faces and inhaled deeply. "I'm fine." She whispered.

"You're not." I told her.

"True." Aidan said, pausing. "He must be waiting for you." When she was gone, "She shouldn't let her nagging thoughts derail her. She's pretty upset." Aidan said.

"I always thought. Only girls are witches." I smiled.

He giggled, shaking his head. "Eat, Em. We do not want to get late." He said.

My smile faded. "Yes, maths." I grabbed my spoon and stared at the mashed potatoes. I wanted to know the reason why he did that.

After finishing our meal, we got to our class. My heart picked the race while stepping ahead. Yesterday was repeating in my head.

My eyes snapped to the seat where he was seated. Hurt filled my chest. Grace was sitting next to him. Her fingers were hovering over the buttons of his shirt.

"Em," His voice was a low whisper.

I plucked my eyes away from them. He must have felt my hurt, and others too. His forehead lined with worry. I forced a smile and walked in toward my yesterday's seat. Aidan followed me without a word. I was glad he wasn't questioning the sudden change in my behavior.

"No, everything is under control. I haven't noticed anything unusual." I heard Daniel as I passed.

I glanced at them through the corners of my eyes. It was only Daniel and Carlos, today.

"That's a good thing but we can't sit leisurely just because.." Carlos trailed looking up at me. Feeling my gaze on him. "Hello, Em. Do you like maths?" He asked, smiling, turning to me.

"Yes, I wasn't expecting you here. I mean...." I bit the corner of my lips.

"The seats were empty. We are just recalling the subject." Daniel replied Which I wasn't expecting.

Carlos was looking at me. "You okay?" I actually noticed his worry which was unbelievable.

I nodded. I was still halfway while Aidan was taking his books out. Suddenly I was feeling drained as all my strength was drunk out by an evil spirit. I have named that Evil spirit Grace.

Pressing my lips together, I settled down and rested my back against the wall. My eyes rested on them. There was a little gap between them.

A tap on my arm grabbed my attention. I glanced down when Aidan shoved his notebook in my hands.

After staring at it for several minutes, I realized that he had written something. 'Are you alright?' Looking at him, I nodded my head. Did he and Carlos feel my hurt?

But he shook his head. He wasn't looking convinced of my lies.

"Oh, look! Love birds are talking in gestures." Grace laughed.

"She's my friend, you unkind soul." Aidan gritted his teeth.

His anger was matching mine. My eyes drifted on all faces. They were just staring here and there, giving bored expressions, other students were looking at us and smiling clearly telling me that they were in Grace's team.

"If you wanna sneak out, I know some good places." She nudged his arm.

"You're not funny." Aidan said, his hands were fisted in his lap.

"Can't you see our smiling faces?" Grace said, gesturing pink lips while making a face. All laughed together except the Alphas.

"Of course, you would know. A person looks at others with the same mentality he/she keeps for himself. How do you manage to attend classes with so many friends-lovers of yours." I snapped.

It shocked me, almost it caught me off guard when I heard Carlos, even Daniel laughing out loud.

Grace didn't like this, her lips twisted in anger. Her eyes glowed as they glued on me. "You ungrateful bitch." She attacked me using her wolf power.

I let out a scream and lifted my arms covering my face. My eyes dilated in surprise when she flew back in the air and her back hit the wall. She groaned in pain.

I gasped in awe. That wasn't me, for certain. Then I heard laughter from Next to me. Slowly, my head turned to him. I had not seen him this happy before.

"Was it you?" My tone was full of shock.

He nodded his eyes still on Grace who was trying to get on her feet, pushing the pain away. She was a wolf and would heel immediately.

"She can't come near you when I'm around." Aidan promised. He was sounding proud. He should be instead of nagging over his family.

"You ain't going to stay with her forever." Her angry gaze turned to me. "You'll regret this, fake fucking queen. I'll..."

"Are you threatening in my class, Miss ?" I was startled in dread hearing a loud solid male voice. His voice entered the room first before him reaching. His soft smile was on like yesterday.

"No," She stared at him with big eyes.

"You shouldn't forget who she is. Her uncles are super Alpha," In our world, Wolf lived a very long life. Alpha retired when he thinks his heir is compatible to run the pack. The retired alpha is called a super or senior alpha. They are all powerful with their super alpha title. "Her brothers are the Alphas, beta, and Gamma. I'm fearing, Mrs Dawson and Mrs Quarlas will be back from their Milan trip. The females are really getting angry. Better you don't create more troubles for yourself." Mr. Morris smiled softly.

My jaw dropped hearing a professor repeating the titles of my family. I squeezed my eyes in disbelief when I heard the clicking of heels.

"They're here." I muttered under my breath.

"Yes, they are." Aidan spoke the truth, "And they look pretty much upset and angry. " He said with a broad smile.

I kept my eyes down hoping to be someone else. No one would be embarrassed this much that I was going to be today.

"Mrs. Quarlas and Mrs. Dawson, I'm glad you accepted my request to teach the class for a week." Professor Morris said with a giant real smile.

"Why would he do that?" I muttered to myself. I squeezed my eyes remembering that I was surrounded by wolves.

I felt her lips pressing on my head. "Did you like the academy, princess?"

"Mom," My eyes darted around. They were looking at me, only me. I noticed fear on Grace's face.

"I guess she likes it here, except for some troubles. I can see she has made some friends.* Mother said, looking at him.

" Yes, he's Aidan and Sisily. She must be in her medical class. Aidan, she's my mother and mom." I told him, gesturing with my hand.

He got on his feet and bowed his head. "I'm so glad to finally meet you, ma'am, ma'am." Happiness could be seen on his face. He didn't ask me why I was addressing both ladies as my mother.

I hit him with my notebook. " Sit down, Aidan. You're just making everything look awkward." I murmured, trying my best to keep my voice to myself.

He gasped, placing his hand on his chest. "Did I?" His smile didn't drop.

I turned to them. "You're my teacher for a week." I flattened my lips glancing at Mr Morris. It just made him chuckle. "Please, act like one."

He chuckled loudly. " See you after a week of class." He strolled out of the class waving his hand over his shoulder.

"Very well, Miss Emersyn Quarles Dawson. This is your class, straighten your back." Her voice was the scolding that she usually uses with me.

Lifting my head, I arched my brows. Suddenly, someone laughed loudly and all attention was averted away from me.

"Write down the formulas ten times now." Mother told him in her strict tone.

I chuckled. My mother looked at me and caressed my cheek. "I'm glad you're liking it here."

I relaxed. She could never stop caring for me. Sometimes she got really angry. It complicated things. Aidan was still on his feet. I grabbed his arm and yanked him back to his seat.

A loud growl echoed in the room. An awkward silence fell in the class.

"I.. I... don't know you're here, Dark." I saw fear in my mother's eyes.

Darkice growled one more time. I heard my heart picking race. Everyone must have heard it too.

Grace grabbed her belongings and took a desk away from him in the other corner of the call.

"Can we start the class, Professors?" He asked in his low and deep voice. His eyes glared down at his hands.

Intensity in his golden gaze sent shivers down my spine. I needed to control myself around him. Or my mothers would make certain I spent the last day in the academy happily.
