I stood up out of shock. I darted my eyes around and there was no one in the room. It was only me. How could he suggest it to me when he wasn't around me or in my room?
"How did you do that?" I asked him, still running my eyes around.
'Your eyes.'
"Explain, please? How are my eyes helping you?"
'I can see what you're seeing." I heard him.
My eyes widened like saucers. "And what else have you seen? " I was in the shower and right now wrapped in a towel. My cheeks heated.
'I won't until you turn eighteen.'
"I didn't mean that. I..." I squeezed my eyes. I wouldn't mind if he would see me.
'You don't wanna get late.' He reminded me.
"Yes," I plucked the black dress and rushed to the bathroom again.
I paced out of the room with a smile. It's a beautiful black midi dress, my hair is down, a little makeup like usual, natural pink lips. I didn't hear him after that in my head.
I took the stairs. "Good morning, brothers." I sang cheerfully. My feet halted near the table.
They smiled at me with a nod. Their smiles disappeared after their eyes turned back to their plates.
"What happened?" I asked, taking my seat. "Did someone...?" I didn't want anyone to die.
"No one died, pumpkin. Some are injured but everything is under control." His voice was confident.
"Then, what's bothering you all?" I ran my gaze on their poker faces.
"If this happens again, we have to go to the Dark World." Jasper said.
" Darkice told me last night. Someone else is controlling them. How? Why? He's the Almighty King." I said.
"True. We can't be certain until we go there and see ourselves." He said.
"We?" I asked.
"Seven Alphas. It's not decided who will go." Drake said.
I gulped in dread. I saw what they did yesterday. I didn't want to know what they would do in their homeland. They'd be powerful there. "That... I don't think it's a good idea."
"That's the best idea, Pumpkin," Drake said.
"What makes you think this? Won't they be more powerful there? I don't wanna know what that dark shadow-looking thing could do."
"You'll stay out of this, Em." Jace said. He was looking more worried than others.
"Don't expect me to obey you in this." I wasn't hungry anymore. "My brothers, my mate are going to be part of this mission. I didn't even know what they're going to put themselves in." I got on my feet grabbing the backpack and turned to the door.
"Emersyn, your breakfast." Jasper said, gesturing at it.
"I'm not hungry." I tread out of the house. They're worried. I could tell. I know what's nagging them most. They're Alphas. They weren't any help in yesterday's fight. They couldn't do anything but wait for his magical fire to destroy them. I have felt this throughout my life. I believe that they will find a way.
I was upset when I knocked on Sisily's door. I don't want them to go but I can't be selfish. Many lives are at stake. She opened the door in less than a second. "Oh, hi! Come join me..." I cut her off.
"I'm not hungry. If you're finished. Come." I turned on my heels and forwarded toward the cobblestone path.
"Hey! Wait, Ember." I heard her shouting.
I made my way toward the academy. Something very unexpected happened. All the students were bowing their heads at my sight as they did to Darkice.
Oh goodness! Why didn't I think this?
I gulped when the number increased. I am going to wear a hood next time and cover my face with something so they can't see me. I'm also going to use a little amount of fragrance to avoid this.
"Hello, my dear friend." Aidan smirked as he bowed his head.
"Stop doing that. I'm one of you. A student." It came out loud. The students who were bowing to me rushed away with slightly big eyes.
They must have sensed my confusion and anger.
I didn't want them to go there. It could be dangerous.
"What got into you? I thought you'd like this royal welcome." He said with a snort.
I started to walk off. If he was enjoying this I wasn't bothered. A hand curled around my wrist. It just infuriated me.
"Ember, what's wrong?" He asked.
I yanked his hand away and turned to glare at him. His eyes widened. It was shocking for me too. I haven't felt a slight amount of strength within me before.
"Don't touch her." The words were on the tips of my tongue but I heard him saying in a cold tone. His hand locked around his wrist.
I spun sharply and saw his golden eyes flashing. "Darkice, he's my friend. Please, don't hurt him." I said, my hands shot to his stomach.
His head jerked down at me. His wolf eyes were peering down. The corners of his lips kicked back. His arm wrapped around me possessively. A loud growl rumbled through his throat. I could be sure he was ready to rip his head off.
Enveloping my arms around him, I hugged him tightly. I couldn't shrug off the thought that he was going to the Dark World. "You don't need to go there." I whispered against his chest.
I felt his lips pressing softly on my head. "We'll talk after classes." He said.
I looked up at him, resting my chin on his chest. I nodded my head slowly. "Alright." I looked back but Aidan wasn't there anymore. "I think we scared him." I felt sad. Yes, I don't like him holding my hand but.
'It's your wolf that hates another man's touch.'
Confused, I looked at him. Was he kidding me?
'I have no wolf. I'm born without one.'
His arm came around my waist as he tugged me in the building. 'Yes, you're. But there's always a little part that recognizes the other part. Have you felt her strength? Because, I did.'
Shocked, I stared at him, hoping he would change his words but he just smiled down at me.
"Can I shift?" I asked, murmuring
'No, if we see our previous queen. In her human form, she got the power of holy fire. Her eyes turned permanent like fire.'
"Am I getting it too?" I asked out of curiosity.
'We'll see after the full ceremony.' My cheeks turned red. That would mean we'd take one step ahead in our relationship. That's what I had heard in my school days.
Her imagination with her mate flashed in my mind. "Did you see their picture together? Her mate's face was under the dark."
He hummed. 'No one could capture him in pictures. In the dark realm, there is a portrait of them. We'll see that one day.'
"Are we going there?" I couldn't hide my shock.
Smiling, he nodded his head. 'You must be hungry.'
I opened my mouth to deny him. But I saw Aidsn waving his hand at us.
"I got you something to eat." He said.
Sisily was sitting in her usual seat, smiling up at Aidan. I didn't know when she came in.
'When we were talking.'
My eyes turned to him again and I saw students bowing at us again.
'Don't you get tired of this? ' I asked in my head.
'I'm born this way. It's not like that they have to bow every time. Just one time in a day.' He pulled the chair out for me.
That made me laugh. "Thank you for letting me know. I don't have to run away seeing the same person twice." I settled down and waited for him.
He leaned over the table, placing his hand on it. "Don't touch my mate." He warned Aidan, his eyes flashed amber again.
"I got it, Royal." He surrounded his hands, raising them up.
I couldn't resist my hand from touching him. His head jerked to me. his wolf eyes locked with mine. He leaned in and kissed me softly. 'I'll wait in the lot after classes.' He pulled his head back. Something unusual happened. His eyes flashed green too.
I nodded my head, still confused not taking my eyes off of him. He started to stride away. I saw Daniel, Carlos, Edward, Elizabeth, Alessandro, and Silver waiting for him out of the door. My gaze rested on her hands.
Silently, she nodded with a soft smile, telling me that she was fine.
My gaze shifted to my mate. They're going to plan it. His eyes kept flashing at the back of my head. Did his eyes...
'What's it?'
I peeled my eyes away from his back to my friends. 'I think I saw your eyes green.'
After a full minute, when I didn't hear him in my head. My gaze turned to the door. He's looking at me, intensely.
'What happened? Seeing green is another sign of a new power emitting within you?' I asked.
'Eat.' He commanded and strode away.
