" I don't know that the full moon ceremony is two days away. " I shouted in a hurry, flipping through the pages of a magazine. "Gosh, dudes. Your designers are the best. Look at this one, Mama. It's difficult to pick one." I shoved it toward her.
They were looking at me with a broad smile. "You're so adorable." Elizabeth tucked my hair.
I flashed a smile. "So, what's the plan? We have a lot of things to do." I was worried about how we would do this.
"Help has reached. Don't tense up. You should pick a dress for yourself." Mama suggested.
"I like this bridal dress." Silver laid the magazine on the center of the table.
It is a mermaid dress with a 3d floral print. She is perfect for this dress. She doesn't look much older than me.
"I think you'll look more beautiful than that model." Elizabeth giggled.
"We have two days to decide this," Mama said. Her soft smile didn't dimension when she drifted her eyes on her. It dropped from her face and her head jerked to the door.
Cyril stormed into the hall. He yanked on his tie, his eyes were flashing fire like a volcano. His lips flattened.
"Father?" I murmured. I didn't want to remember the past when I knew he didn't mean anything.
He looked at me and blinked several times. His eyes turned to the natural dark color. "Kiddo, are you okay?'
I glanced at him in confusion. " Did you know..." I trailed off, not wanting to mention it in front of the Queen.
"Know, what? What am I missing?" Mama asked, her gaze darted on us.
"Edward attacked her. He would have killed her if Silver and Elizabeth hadn't shown up." His jaw tightened, again.
She shot to her feet and circled the table. "Why didn't you tell us? How dare they hurt you? I'll punish them." Her eyes flashed silver.
"No! You didn't do anything." I asked Cyril.
He snorted. "They got what they deserve. Cia, what have you cooked?" He asked, changing the subject.
"But..." I started.
Miuccia shook her head and paced toward the kitchen. They didn't look bothered. "You don't seem bothered. " I asked.
"Rules are rules. Royal or a common shifter. We can't hurt innocents and humans." Elizabeth shrugged her shoulders.
"Listen, Emma." Silver started. It doesn't bother me now that they called me Emma instead of Ember. "I attacked you when you joined the academy. I got punished, too. I couldn't shift for a long time. They're not different from us." She grabbed a donut. "And I didn't do that intentionally." She added before biting on it.
Puzzled, I got back in my seat. "I don't remember."
"Soon, you will. Why don't you pick a dress for yourself." Elizabeth shoved it toward me.
My gaze halted on the name at the bottom of the page. "Sisters?" I asked.
"Yes, your mother and Katherine are famous with these names. Have you ever wondered who your real mother is?" Silver caught me off guard.
I never thought about it. And my real mother? This thought never crossed my mind. I knew only two mother figures, Kat mom and my mother. I also like Mama. "I don't know."
"It was always you who was always reborn. Last time, when you died. Everything changed. They are reborn. It was a huge relief it was as you wanted it to be. I didn't realize Eamonn would accidentally lose control over the Oscuro and it would decide to attack us. But it became a part of you." Silver sighed.
"He couldn't be an expert. Because he was never the rightful person to rule over the dark world but Dastien." Elizabeth said.
I shivered. "It's quite weird to think I was dead and born again. Am I going to die again?" I felt my heart picking race.
"Hell, no." They chuckled. But the tension was clearly visible in the air.
"Let's not talk about it. You'll remember everything after your ceremony or there's a better way. You should complete your bond if you're ready." Elizabeth suggested.
My cheeks heated. "I tried but he..." I bit my inner cheek and lowered my eyes, shyly. Goodness! It's hard to share such things.
"Then you should seduce him." Silver wiggled her brows.
"He won't like it." I shook my head, realizing his possessiveness.
"Oh, come on! Every man likes his girl a little naughty." Elizabeth patted my arm.
"I don't know, Betty."
She smiled broadly my way. "Glad to hear you are addressing me with my old name." She got on her feet. "We should shop from your mothers' store. " She grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the chair. "It's the weekend. They must be coming there soon. They're desperate to see you."
"Have you talked to them?" I asked, worriedly.
"Talk to your brothers. They are in contact." Silver tapped her index finger on her temple.
"Oh, okay. Mind link." I nodded.
Seduce him! What do you think, mate? Would it work for you?
I snickered asking him. I lowered my chin so they couldn't see my face. I didn't want them to catch me blushing.
'Nope,' I felt his smile.
'We'll see.' I challenged him.
"So! Do you guys have babies? I mean." I shrugged my shoulders.
They looked at me. Their faces told me that I asked the wrong question. "We can't." Elizabeth hesitated. "Not now. It's Dastien and your duty to bring a child to the family first. We have time."
I gawked at them with a dropped jaw. "What if you want babies?"
"We want you to encourage us. I haven't thought about having a baby yet. Now everything is sorted. That seems tempting to me now." Silver blushed hard, her cheeks were pink.
" Alright." I kept my mouth shut when they tugged me out of the hall.
I've been in many stores but this one is the biggest. It's quite unbelievable that they own it. I was expecting them to be here but they could not come because all the paths were blocked by the king. I'm missing them. I'm hoping to see them soon.
Silver waved another dress in front of me. "This dress is too short." I shook my head, denying the dress She held for me.
"That's the mission. Isn't it?" Elizabeth asked, chuckling.
We came here in her pink car. It was quite unbelievable that technology was part of their lives.
"Yes, but not that. There must be a class." I told them. Looking around the store. It didn't seem like I was not on the earth.
"This one is perfect." Silver held the silky black long dress, thin strips, a long cut on one side of it.
"Yes, perfect." Elizabeth clapped her hands.
It would cover most of me. "Yea, perfect." I agreed. But I wasn't certain.
'You don't need to do that, Syn. You're not ready. I can feel you're nervous.' I heard him in my head.
I'm nervous. No doubt. But, it's not because of what he's thinking. It's because I'm afraid of him not liking me. It could be. I mean, look at me and him. We're quite different. He's perfect in every way. I'm imperfect in every way. He's the king and I'm no one.
I don't remember my past life. But I could be certain about one thing that nothing comes to me easily or magically. Our souls are already together. Why can't our bodies, too?
'Just be at home. I want you to see me.' I said through the link.
"Are you asking for his choice?" Silver asked. They're shuffling for more dresses. I'm guilty, and sad that I caused a crack in their wedding.
I shook my head and my gaze fell on the entrance. A beautiful angelic-looking girl walked into the store. Her heart-shaped face was giving her an innocent look. She was draped into a white silky dress, her hair was wavy and silky.
"She's so beautiful," I told them, muttering under my breath. I didn't want to grab her attention.
They were already following my gaze. "Lillith, she's a light angel," Elizabeth said, her feet carried over to her and she took her in a tight hug. "I think you won't come." Happiness could glimpse from afar from her face.
"Beth!" Lillith smiled, taking her in an embrace, and sighing. Her dark amber eyes locked on me for a long second. "Why wouldn't I come?" Her eyes swiped on her and returned to me again.
There could be two reasons - I did something wrong to her in the past or she knew me from my past life. I thought to ask my mate.
'She's one of your best friends.' He said in my head before I could ask. I still need to learn a lot of things.
I couldn't let him know what I was thinking. I am still processing it.
Lillith took Silver in a tight long hug. They exchanged words in a language I couldn't understand.
When her eyes turned to me, I plucked my eyes immediately away. I didn't want her to know that I was staring. If she would complain. I could do this, too.
"Emma?" She said, pacing toward me.
I'm not Emma. I glanced over her shoulder at my friends. But they just kept smiling.
"Ember, my name is Ember." I corrected her.
She shook her head and curled her arms around me, taking me into a bear hug. She caught me off guard. I might not be powerful but I have gotten love from everyone. Her skin was soft, she smelled like lily flowers. She felt familiar. I felt attached to her. I was happy to see her. Though, it was another matter that I haven't seen or met her before. "You gave me my wings back when Zedkiel cut them off."
Her shivering matched mine when I heard her. "Cut them?" My hands rested on her shoulders as I pulled back. I felt fear for her. Tears welled in my eyes recalling her condition.
Shaking her head, she smiled at me. "That nightmare is long gone. You found me in the cave and you brought me back to my mate, Dante. He killed him, cutting him into pieces." Her smile broadened and a glint of pride gleamed in her dark amber eyes.
'That was in the past.' I heard my mate and I felt the energy that suppressed my dread.
I held my tongue from asking a stupid question. I have many sources to know what happened back there.
"Sorry, I don't remember anything but I do feel attached to you." I told her.
Her smile made her beautiful eyes small. "That's good to know. We should pick the best dress for you." She asked, excitedly.
I nodded and she turned. Her gown was backless. Her long silky hair was covering her back. She twirled, treading toward Elizabeth.
My eyes were glued to her back. I was trying to have a little glimpse of her wings.
Silver chuckled. "She's getting impatient to see your wings, Lily." She told them and turned to me.
"No! I was just..." I trailed off. My cheeks heated as I found myself caught.
"You haven't changed a bit. You were so curious to see my wings." Elizabeth said.
"You haven't shown me once," I complained, thinning my lips.
"I'll show you them but we need to find a dress for you first. It's getting dark soon. Our mates wouldn't like us out. They have caught Eamonn but I could still feel the air." She looked far away, looking lost.
I could feel it, too. The unknown danger. I couldn't voice it. No one would trust a vulnerable girl.
"I thought only wolf shifters could sniff the air." I chuckled to hide my dread and the awkwardness in the air.
"Angel could do this, too. But in a different way." Lily said, smiling softly.
" How different?" I asked, curiously.
"They can detect danger," Silver muttered, zooming out.
It sets my heart pounding. I exchanged looks with them. They weren't sounding frightened or anything. "Alright, let's try dresses," I said when they weren't looking interested in telling me anything. I'd find another way.
