He was furious that Cyril was his father, he kidnapped his mate and also threatened to force her to be his mate. Though Cyril didn't say or do anything like that, it boiled his blood.
"So glad to be back home." Darius said.
Wherever he slanted his gaze he could see dark land. He was wondering, his father managed to secure the land of Dark Wood when he was determined to destroy everything after his mate's death.
He also wanted to burn Eamonn until he got satisfied with his cries of agony. But his mother stopped him. Yes, he was under the effect of black magic. That was why it was prohibited. It was also annoying him in anger that he could hear his father in his head clearly. He still didn't know how to properly rule the dark creatures particularly those that crawled under the dark and sucked all energy. They are called Oscuros. Fathers always trained their sons. He hated to admit it but he was curious to learn this talent.
He wasn't against his mother and him's mating ceremony. He just hated lies and hidden things. He was also aware of Edward and Alessandro's feelings. They were hurt that their father wasn't the chosen one. It seemed hard for them to accept the truth. Though they were Chris's sons from his beloved, Rita. She couldn't endure the pain to bear the King's sons and she died.
"You're not saying anything. The worst thing in this world is rejection by the most loved person. I was always frightened when..." Darius trailed off. They were always together when they wanted to unveil the past.
"When we realized that she's our mate and she's going to pick one." He completed it for him.
"She picked you. I got my mate. I'm just saying mother isn't wrong, she just avoids battles." Darius muttered.
"Yes, by cursing her years ago. That was her peaceful path." He snapped, aggressively. It was Eamonn who left Oscuro around her while she was splitting her soul, performing the spell and he was practicing the dark magic. Which is only allowed to the person who is going to be on the throne. It's Dastien and his father.
"She won't like it. Keep her happy. She gave me a beautiful life. You should learn to forgive. I hope, Emersyn will teach you that." He said with a soft smile.
He gave him a pinned look. His eyes flashed anger.
Darius shook his head. "I'm heading back to earth. I'll return before the ceremony with Everly and her family. I trust you that you will be happy that day and your mate will be double happy."
He just nodded his head, he comprehended his feelings. After all, they were attached to each other.
Darius waved his hand and disappeared into the air.
She was with her friends and he knew she would learn to block. She is a powerful queen, she's still unaware of it. He's also unable to feel her feelings, heartbeat, and other thoughts. He was feeling uneasy. He has felt it twice in his lifetime. And every time he lost his mate.
He whirled, and using his speed he reached the palace. He followed her scent. His brows furrowed when it came from Edward's room.
The moment he stepped into the room, he scented the tension in the air. His jaw locked.
Silver shot on her feet. She clinched the magazine to her chest, she was reaking stress and worry. "Dastien?" She stuttered.
His gaze was fixed on her sleeping face and after a second, they zoomed on remnants of dried tears under her eyes. "Why did she cry?" His voice turned gravel with anger.
He scented her fear in the air. "I don't know." He heard her lying.
He turned to her sharply. "What just happened?" He asked Gravelly.
"Darkice?" Her sleepy tone reached his ears. In a flash, he was sitting next to her. His eyes drifted next to her. Elizabeth was sleeping on the next side, her skin was pale, and he couldn't see the shimmer of her fae around her aura.
"What happened?" His voice was softened.
"Don't scare my friends. They're also your sisters-in-law." She blinked to push away the sleep.
His large hand reached for her cheek. "You cried." He said.
She leaned in and rested her head on his chest, exactly on his softly beating heart. "I got myself hurt."
He made a fist of his hand, his knuckles turned white with the force of it, and curled his arm around her. He waited for her to speak. But he felt her drifting back. "Elizabeth healed you." His eyes swiped on her face and returned to his mate, looking worriedly down at her. She was hurt badly.
"Lower your walls," He said softly.
"Wall?" She asked in confusion.
"That... your friends taught you." He murmured.
"Oh, yes. You have to promise me you won't get mad at anyone." She forced a smile up his way. She was stubborn. He nodded his head. "I fell from the stairs, I got myself badly hurt. Elizabeth healed me but they were furiously mad at their mate as they were there and couldn't save me."
Impossible! Our mate is lying and telling a half-truth.
His eyes flashed fire, and his jaw locked. "Lower your wall. Let me see it myself." Then, his expression closed up blocking his anger.
"Promise?" She muttered, he felt her pain.
He nodded, not making the words. She closed her eyes. In less than a second, he felt a flood of emotions, pain, shock, fear and many more.
His hand exactly landed on her shoulder. His brows furrowed together, his expression turning murderous. "Someone hurt you from the family." He growled, making her heart jump in dread.
"You promised." She pulled herself back, despite her pain. It was killing her. It was getting hard for her human body to endure it.
His eyes turned amber. "Did you hear me saying them?" His tone was harsh and unexpected.
"That's cheating. I won't trust you ever then." She shouted-whispered to prove her point.
The determination of her words hurt him. His anger was at its peak.
"If you love me, you'll trust what I said." She said, tears pooled in her eyes. She was terrifying. She was scared that something unpleasant would happen.
He stared down at her. She was a mess, emotionally.
"Please," She murmured with tears flowing down.
He nodded for now. His face turned stoney.
"Make words." She asked.
Her body was trembling under his hand. His inside burnt in anger. He rummaged through her memories. Everything flashed before the back of his head. The small flare of anger in his eyes took the shape of a tornado.
"It's useless, Em. He's the King. You can't hide anything from him." He heard Silver's weak voice.
Her eyes jerked to her. Her hands trembled, and her eyes widened in fear.
'No! No!! It was my fault. Only mine. I shouldn't challenge him. Elizabeth has already done what she shouldn't.'
He heard her clearly in his head. "She did the right thing to slap him. I would have killed him for touching you." He said in a gravel tone.
She grasped his tee, ignoring the pain in her arms and shoulder. ''You'll forget this. You won't hurt them or anything for what they did. Please...'' Her low voice was full of pleading.
The anger in his fear-provoking eyes grew. Another shiver went down her body.
'Please, their mates are already not talking to them. What could be worse than this? Please, agree to this. I won't ask for anything. I promise.'
'Don't make such promises, mate. We have a long life together. Okay? ' He said, his jaw ticking.
She relaxed and was happy. She curled her arms around him, forgetting her pain.
Wrapping her in the ring of his arm, he took away her pain. Her pain became his. He perceived her breathing in relief.
Shocked, she looked up at him. He kissed her head and took a step back, getting on his feet. Her heart began to pound in her chest, and he felt her in fear.
'Nothing to worry,' Saying in her head he whirled and left the room.
