Chapter 143

Ch. 143 / 150 Sep 27, 2024

I straightened up, feeling uneasy. Something wasn't right. I need to find a way out of this place. I pushed myself on my feet. My eyes swiped on the tray. The food has turned dark blue.

My eyes narrowed on it. Was it poisonous? How could it be? Eamonn brought it himself. His father didn't walk deep into the room. Could he poison it without even touching it? No! Something is wrong with Eamonn.

It could be possible. These kings could do anything. I forwarded my steps toward the door. I couldn't stay here. If Eamonn wouldn't help me I have to find the path myself.

Someone clad in dark clothes entered. I gasped in terror and took steps back. My big eyes were locked on the door. My hope shattered and fear raced through me.

"What were you going to do?" He asked with a snort. His forehead creased together in anger.

"Why are you angry?" I asked with my pounding heart. He was looking a little different. I stared at him. His eyes were pitch black. There was no white space but black. " What happened to you?" I squealed in horror, pushing myself back. I rushed back into the room and stood behind the single couch.

"Why are you scared? I'm here to help you." He said, flashing an evil smile my way.

"No! You're not... You poisoned my food." I accused him. I didn't see his father but him carrying the tray.

He stared at it longer. His smile broadened. Fear clawed at me, he was going to kill me. Thanks to my mistrust in him.

"Intelligent." He chuckled. He wasn't even blinking his eyes but staring at me as if he'd eat me alive.

His look was promising something awful. Fear soaked into me. "Dastien!" I shouted his name out loud.

His laughter rang through the room, making all the hair rise on my skin. "These bubbles would keep you captured here. It was his stupid move. You mate-bond can't save you."

"Lying! My bond is old and strong." Dread snaked through my body. I stared at him with wide eyes.

His laugh was loud and it gave me goosebumps. "Yes! That." He continued to laugh. "I did that to make my bond strong with the shadows. They give me power. Nothing could be tastier than this power! " He closed his eyes and spread his arms in the air. The dark smoke swirled around him.

Terror coursed through my limbs. I reached for the door. I couldn't hear a thing. He was muttering something in a gurgling tone.

"You're a friend. Why are you doing this? Dastien would kill you." I yell-said to him in dread, crawling inside me.

Another loud mocking chuckle tore through his lips. He looked more evil than an innocent boy. "No, you got it wrong. Everyone is going to take it as I want them to. He would hold Cyril responsible for your death. Not me." He shook his finger, bringing it before. It was only the tip of his finger that was visible from the swirling dark around him in attacking mode.

"Death? " Is he going to kill me? Who the heck is Cyril? He's not his father. I could tell.

"I think you're sick, Eamonn. You should go and rest. Did your father do something to you?" I asked, darting my eyes around. He was standing in the doorway, blocking my only escape.

"No!" His voice changed. The shadows swirled around his arms.

Fear raced through me as I jumped back. "Don't be angry. Just sit down and tell me what happened." I told him, politely.

He stalked forward and pushed me back in fury.

My back collided with the wall. Pain sliced through my back. An alarm bell rang in my head, yelling at me to run away. Panic tore through me and tears burned my eyes. A painful shout reached my ears. My gaze shot up.

My heart stuttered in fear as my shocked gaze froze on him. Hurriedly I pushed on my feet, not bothering the pain. I don't wanna die here.

His body began to change as the shadows moved around him at a rapid speed.

"What are you? " My mind began to whirl in terror. He wasn't a wolf. They didn't change like this.

His menacing animalistic shout answered me. It felt like shadows were eating him alive. As they were making holes in his body so they could pass through it smoothly.

My heart was thundering an unsteady rhythm in my chest. My eyes darted to the door. I was standing with the help of the wall. I'd die if I didn't leave the room. I pushed myself ahead and stumbled. The pain was killing me. "Did he break my bones?" I tasted the tears at the corners of my lips.

I blinked more tears and tried one more time to get on my feet. I couldn't take a single step. When a deep growl emanated from his throat and he jumped blocking my path again.

"Eamonn, what did you do to yourself?" I was still hoping his good side could suppress the shadows that were eating him. It started to fade.

He growled again. " Power!" He yelled, smiling darkly. "It was me. Every time me! I made every attack. Poor Cyril!" He laughed, darkly.

I swallowed thickly, looking at his enormous body in terror. His face was the same but he was a different person. Not a few inches but two feet taller than me. His nails were nasty, dark, and longer than his fingers. His eyes were completely black. Shadows were still dancing around his feet making them hidden.

A wave of fear shuddered through me. "I don't know any Cyril. Let me go, Eamonn. Dastien must be waiting for me." I couldn't dare to pluck my step forward.

"No, darling." His lustful eyes roamed over me. The back pain was hurting like a bitch. "When I'm done with you, I'll kill you." My body trembles in consideration of his words. "Everyone will think Cyril killed you to have the throne. They would kill each other or I'll kill the one who will survive. So easy." His voice was low and raspy. He has a savage look on his face.

"Are you saying...." I stared at him in terror. "...your father is innocent?"

A shout of irritation rang from his throat and he glared at me. He lifted his large hand to thwack me. "He's not my father." He yelled, making the wall tremble.

Fear gripped my spine. I shut my eyes. I opened my mouth to shout but fear tightened my throat. A familiar warmth curled around my body. My eyes snapped open.

His fire eyes glowed in rage as he stormed into the room. He scowled at him, placing himself between him and me.

I stayed glued to the wall, taking support to stand. Making this monster disappear is more important right now.

More footsteps rang. Edward and Alessandro strode in first. They halted seeing a giant evil-looking man a foot taller than them. Carlos and Daniel stopped as well. Jasper and Drake ignored the monster their eyes landed on me.

I was so relieved. I exhaled a long sight that I was holding for a long time. I couldn't help but I was happy to see them, including Edward. I managed a painful smile on my brothers' way.

They all were breathing heavily. It felt like they had run a marathon to reach here. Elizabeth and Silver were last to reach.

"Are you hurt?" Drake asked, curling his arm around me.

I shook my head. "Help him. He's something evil." I shivered, looking at his eyes.

Jasper rested his hand on my arm and shook his head, flattening his lips. "You broke your bones."

"Did you kill him? Of course, you wouldn't have reached here then." Eamonn shrilled in excitement. He was asking for Cyril.

My heart pounded with fear. I gawked at my mate. I couldn't see his face as his back was turned to me. My gaze turned to my brother. I was sick of the feeling I felt at the thought of killing him. "You didn't kill him. Cyril?"

"No, he's your mate's father," Drake whispered so low that only I could hear him.

Shell-shocked, I stared at them, waiting for him to deny it that he wasn't my mate's father who kidnapped me, kept me here against my wish and he also wanted me to be his mate.

Something crashed in the room and I stared in the direction. They were on the ground kicking, and punching each other. The dark things launched themselves at Dastien. He growled, not liking it. His body tensed. Fire swirled around him, pushing them away.

For a few seconds, I couldn't move, my heart pounded, and fear trickled through me. Still, with his hand around me, he tugged me out of the room. I shook my head. I could see only darkness and fire.

"You're hurt," Elizabeth said, looking worriedly at me.

My eyes were still peering in with my heart in my throat. It was a far different fight than the wrestlers fought in the ring. The smooth floor was turned into debris, all the furniture was broken, the walls were shattered.

Silver cupped my cheek and turned me to face her. "It's just gonna hurt you."

"You didn't see what I saw. Hundreds, thousands of tiny shadows creatures swirled around him then it seemed they were eating him. And suddenly everything was gone and he was this giant, horrible looking." A shiver raced through my spine.

Eamonn pushed Dastien away as he was on him throwing punch after punch and his back hit the wall that I used to support. It collapsed. I was wondering why they were acting so normal as nothing was going around. Eamonn did something sorta black spell that made him actually look powerful and a monster.

"Emersyn, you look in pain." Reina cupped the side of my face.

The hair rose on the back of my neck. Fear slithered down me. I held her by the arm and yanked her away from him. "He's dangerous, mama," I told her in a squeal.

She smiled my way. "He's not. I'll explain later." She turned to them, still fighting. The heat in the room became unbearable.

My eyes widened seeing his twin. Dyson waved his hand in the air. The air felt cooler than before. "Hello, Em. Is it okay now?" He asked, holding a soft smile.

Dazed, I could only nod my head.

Soon, Dastien would burn everything including him. "We need to stop them. He can't kill his cousin." Her soft expressions were far gone, and her eyes flashed silver.

I took a step back closer to my brother. I still didn't know how my kidnapper would be in the good book.

Dastien called for his powerful weapon, the fire. It danced around his hand.

Cyril stepped forward, his eyes trained on them.

I was dreading that he would hurt him, after all, he was also a king. If I wasn't wrong.

Dastien's head swiped at him. I stumbled back witnessing his cold, hard expression, his fire flashing eyes promising only death. I also registered shock on his face. It was buried under a murderous expression immediately.
