Chapter 144

Ch. 144 / 150 Sep 27, 2024

Cyril's back was on me. I could see what was actually going on. They are talking in their heads.

Dastien nodded his head and lifted his both hands up in front of him. It felt as if they were arguing in their heads. He brought his hands back and forced them ahead, shooting fire at him.

Eamonn raised his own hands and called for shadows, his smile never faded.

"So, that was what you're training for." Cyril stood next to Dastien. He called for his fire. It danced around his hand, stronger and more powerful. He lifted it up and smacked his hand on the ground making everything shake.

"We need to get out of the place. It's going to collapse." Elizabeth yelled, holding onto her mate's hand.

"Don't worry." I heard a soft whisper. She waved her hand in the air and a bubble wall was created around us, shielding us from everything that was falling upon us.

I held my breath. A shiver of fear raced through me when it was about to hit him in his chest. It began to whirl around him. After watching for a second, it looked like his magical fire was restraining the shadows and it was binding them, forcing them to be in the ring.

Cyril's smack made a hole in the earth. He brought his hand on the ground, his palm facing the earth, his lips moved murmuring something.

Shadows slithered out of his body and crawled into the hole he created. I stared at them with a dropped jaw. It looked like an inhumane thing. It was.

After a few seconds, which seemed to me never-ending seconds, Eamonn fell to the ground, he was looking like hell with messy hair, shredded clothes, and round dark circles under his eyes.

"No! No! " He shrieked and tried to crawl over to the hole chasing the shadows. He was calling them back.

Dastien strode over him, the fire was still flashing in his eyes, and his expression was deadly serious and menacing. He shot a punch on the side of his face, throwing him over the heap of debris.

Dejected, he stayed there, looking at the hole with tearful eyes. For a second, I felt sad for him. What would have inspired him to do this?

The beautiful palace was destroyed. It collapsed, and most things were broken or ended in ashes.

Cyril closed the little portal he created to send the shadows back to where they came from. When he got on his feet. His volcanic eyes zeroed on him. A low but terrifying rumble jumbled from his throat as he took menacing steps toward him. He stared at him in rage.

I heard Reina gasping next to me but she didn't stop or say a word.

"I... " His deadly deep voice rang around. " Thee king Cyril Royal. I deprive you of your wolf and confiscate your power and right to be a royal. If you try to go near any shadows, it will bring you a painful death." He said the words loud and clear. His face was set into a deadly scowl.

Mama sauntered toward and placed her hand on his shoulder. "Bad time is over." She said softly to him.

He covered her hand with his and turned to her with a smile that could rob many hearts. They are in love even a blind man could tell this too.

"How did you do this?" Dastien's jaw ticked as he stared at him gripping hate in his eyes.

"I'm your father. The King. Accept it, I'm above you." Cyril said, his arm was still wrapped around her.

"Above me! That's why you did all this. You kidnapped my mate. You were going to force her to be his mate." He fisted his hands, his eyes flashed amber.

"That's not true." Cyril glared at Eamonn.

"I lied." Eamonn agreed, his hair hiding his face.

Dastien snorted. " It must be a bad feeling to meet your disappointment." His hands fisted, his piercing gaze was hard on Eamonn.

"I can understand your wrath and pain." Cyril said looking at Dastien to me.

"You don't know a thing." Dastien snapped.

"Enough! Both of you, enough. I don't wanna hear a word. We're family, we're living like one." Mama told them angrily.

"I'm not part of this shit." Dastien growled, raising his voice.

"Don't talk to your mother like that." Cyril yelled at his son. His eyes blazed with anger.

"I think they need some time." Dyson said.

I looked over my shoulder as someone spoke. It shocked me. He was looking like hell. "Aidan, what happened to you?" Worry coated my voice.

"Nothing, just... " He shrugged his shoulders. "I'm tired after sleepless nights."

"You look drained. I've seen Elizabeth like this sometimes." My brows crushed together. "It was okay if he didn't want to tell me now. We'd talk later. "

"We're going." Dastien announced. "You could have that fucking kingdom and the throne." He strode toward me.

"Watch your words, boy." Cyril growled, his gaze on him.

Heat emerged through his body. his eyes flashed fire. "You might be my father.." He cut him off.

"I'm glad you accepted this." Cyril smiled. It was reaching his eyes.

"I won't stay here." Dastien announced. Royals stay together like joint families. It would create a wall between them that would rise high and huge with time.

" Let's Emersyn decide this. After all, she's your mate. She'll decide. Em?" Mama asked me.

All eyes turned to me. I saw water shining in her eyes. No mother wants her family to shatter. "I live in a joint family. I'll prefer that after my wedding." Dastien was angry, he wouldn't see what I'm seeing right now. Unity is strength. It is his mother who's tying them together. If she wouldn't be that generous and caring, there would be a war. She dodged it.

Dastien stormed toward the door which was lying on the ground broken under the layer of debris.

"It would take time. We are using shadows to reach the realm." Cyril said. looking at his elder son. His eyes flashed with sadness.

He must have taunted him something in his head.

'Can't you be nice to him because of your mother?'

'I don't trust him.'

'Your mother does.' Instead of answering me, he blocked me.

He didn't stop and kept walking in anger away from me. I glanced at him until he got lost in the dark. Tears ran down my eyes.

"Will you forgive me, child? I swear of my mate. I would have saved you if you had shown a little fear. I just..." Shaking my head, I cut off Cyril.

"I know, sir. We, girls, have six senses. We can feel what someone is thinking about us. I know you were angry and hurt." I swiped my eyes on Reina.

Leaning forward, she kissed my head, thanking me silently.

"I'll always be grateful to you. You'll address me father." Cyril said.

I look at her and she nods in approval.

"We should go, mother. This place is giving me creeping feelings." Elizabeth said. It was the first time I heard her addressing her mother. But wasn't Edward Queen Muicca's son? Who's Rita?

My eyes dilated in realization. I would ask Silver and Elizabeth later.

"Cyril has to carry you." Aidan said.

"I can carry my sister." Drake said, his brows creased together.

"I can walk." I told them.

"You're royal but not a shifter. They are tamed but it wouldn't take them a second to turn them greedy. I don't want them to harm you." Cyril said.

"I can carry my mate." My head snapped back at the wood. He slid out of the dark and stared at him with annoyance.

"Yes, but try not to burn your family. You haven't talked to them. Keep your heat under control." Carlos said, shaking his head.

"Yes, you won't burn your mate but us, easily," Aidan said.

"No, I'll stay close to you, Father." I said, feeling a little hesitant. He just left me and blocked me. What does he expect?

If he could block me, then, he didn't need to do things for me. I lifted my feet but I was already scooped up in his arms. He looked at me with thinned lips.

Contorting my lips, I looked away from him. He wasn't the only one stubborn. He doesn't know me.

Cyril murmured some words as he swirled his right hand in the air. The darkness enclosed us.

Cyril murmured some words as he swirled his right hand in the air. The darkness enclosed us.

Concerned, I moved closer to him and shut my eyes. This thing still frightened me. It was better with closed eyes.

His lips landed on my forehead. My tension disappeared and my shoulders sagged as I relaxed.

I perceived the light falling on my closed eyes. When I opened them, we weren't in the Dark Wood. I took my surroundings in. It was another castle.

"Put me down." I wiggled my feet.

"Silver, tell the help that we'll have dinner in our room." Dastien said to her.

"I'll stay with my brothers." I told pushing away from him

'We need to talk.' He sped away from them.

'There's nothing to talk about.' I huffed.

When he stopped we were in a hall-looking room. This one was more luxurious than I have ever seen a room to be. "Is it made of gold? " I screamed in disbelief. I couldn't believe I was sitting on the gold-looking bed.

'Yes, it's been our room for many decades.'

Still, he wanted to leave. I looked at him. His poker face was on.

" I'm not gonna talk to you. You were so rude. You blocked me." My voice cracked and my throat tightened.

'I was angry.' he rested his hand on the side of my jaw.

"Congratulations, I'm angry, too." I yanked his hand away.

I pulled my knees close to my chest when he sat down on the mattress and placed his hand on my knee. "I don't like him. It's simple." He said.

"You don't even know him. How could you just decide?" I told him, narrowing my eyes at him.

"I don't need to decide." He scowled at me.

"Then, you don't need to like me either. I'm a stranger, too." I pushed his hand away.

I felt his anger through the bond. He opened his mouth. "Eamonn told me you're hungry from last year." Aidan chuckled tapping his knuckles on the opened door.

His cold gaze swung back to him. He walked over to the door and took it from him without thanking him.

"Aidan, sit with me. I'm a complete stranger to him. You know he could declare me a threat or whatever he likes." I pursed my lips looking at them.

Aidan gulped, looking at him with shocked eyes. "I don't think it's a good idea." He muttered. He was looking better now.

"You're my friend. I know you. So, sit." I told him, giving him a hard look.

"Fine, I'll talk to him." Dastien said.

"Just talk to him?" I raised my brows.

"Why can't you leave this topic and have our meal?" He growled.

"Why can't you do this for your mother?" I snapped.

Through the corners of my eyes, I saw Aidan sliding out of the room. He also waved his hand at me.

"Would you?" He asked.

"Yes, my mother wants me to stay away from the academy. I did this until your mother issued new rules." I was still unaware of too many things.

"My mother is the queen Miuccia." He muttered.

My eyes dilated as I stared at him in shock. The confirmation hits me strangely. "Yes," I released the breath that I was holding.

"Using a share of her power she reborn us." He said.

"Your brother?" I asked.

He nodded. "You'll remember everything soon."

I nodded. I wasn't in a hurry. I am fine with slow progress. "Your father. You should give him a chance. You should try to get to know him. Please, don't be harsh on your mother. You should see her eyes. She loves him. He loves her back. I don't wanna know what the reasons were then but they want to be together now."

He inhaled and exhaled, losing his clenched jaw. "I can't promise." He told me.

Shooting on my feet, I curled my arms around him. He hugged me back and lifted me up. "You're hungry."

"Yes," I drew my head back. "Let's eat. Later you'll show me around." I told him as I waited for him to put me down.

Sighing, he put me down and tugged me over to the bed.
