I glanced at my wrist. It has ten minutes to start. What am I going to do then? Stare at him? No way. He would shoot me with his golden eyes.
It took everything in me not to look at him. Instead, I tried to keep myself busy. Unzipping my backpack, I took my maths and notebook out. I just have to survive through an hour. This was the longest time of the day. I needed to work through my feelings around him.
There was dead silence in the class. I opened my maths trying to read the letters. I kept my focus on my book. I'd read the same sentence at least a hundred times. My eyes kept getting drawn to his back.
Someone walked into the class. I thought it would be the professor but I gasped as my eyes landed on him.
"Aidan, what happened to your eye?" I shot on my feet and hurried forward,
His left eye was almost black. His shoulders were sagged, and disappointment was clinging to his face.
"I don't think Martial art is good for me. The best student did this to me. I was just about to enter. I changed my subject."
"Brat!" I heard a mocking tone from behind me before I could look back. A wave of wind hit me while all the windows were down. It didn't surprise me. My eyes dilated in fear when I saw Carlos pinning him against the wall.
"What are you doing? He's already hurt." I rose on my foot but Daniel held my hand,
"Relax, it's just a test." His dark eyes were fixed on him. This man always scared me with his cold expression.
"Is it friendship or do you want something else?" Carlos snarled under his breath.
I froze hearing his question. What was wrong with him? He just didn't want to be alone.
"I just don't wanna die here because I'm alone and it's eating me from inside." Aidan tried hard to pull his hand away from his chest but he couldn't move his pinky finger.
Carlos let go of him and returned to his seat. His eyes locked with Darkice for a long second. They were talking in their heads. I couldn't understand a thing. I needed time to comprehend these systems better.
I returned to my seat. Aidan slammed into the seat next to me. "I thought he would kill me." He was looking scared. I saw his big eyes on them.
"They are Alphas.' I muttered.
" It's their nature to protect all members, particularly weak ones." Aidan said.
I mashed her lips together in annoyance. I grabbed my book and hit him hard on his shoulder.
He shouted in pain. "What was that for, Ember?"
"For calling me weak." I gave him an annoyed look.
He breathed out. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean that."
"That's why it's me who's hitting you." I huffed, opening my book in my lap again.
"I'm sorry." He said again. His gloom was clear in his voice.
"Stop acting as if someone died. Go. You need to see a doctor." I told him.
"I'm not so good at it. I need to concentrate. I don't wanna fail. Dad would fry me alive." He sighed.
I giggled. "Don't be so negative."
A small smile appeared on his face. His eyes were still widened. He fiddled in his chair as a low growl echoed in the room.
My eyes jerked to him. His golden eyes flashed before he looked at the door as the professor walked in. What did I do to have his abomination in his eyes?
It wasn't a surprise when an old man walked in wearing a navy suit. The way he walked he looked healthy and strong. His age doesn't affect him, I guess. I was thankful for the interference.
I could feel his eyes on me as he was sitting with his back on the wall that was giving him the full view of the class.
"Do you know him?" Aidan asked, muttering under his breath.
"Um, not entirely." I told him.
"He doesn't like us in this class." He said.
"Speak for yourself." I was startled hearing his deep cold tone. His golden gaze shoot daggers at him.
"Is everything alright?" Professor Morris asked, his eyes darted on us.
"Y-es, yes, sir." Aidan stuttered. He lowered his eyes to his notebook.
What was his problem? First of all, I didn't know he would be in this class. What did force him to strike in anger? Aidan said what he felt.
Mr. Morris cleared his throat. I turned my eyes to the board. But my head filled with his thoughts after witnessing his bizarre behavior. There was nothing to offense.
After the class ended, I put my things in my bag and slung it over my shoulder.
"Wait for me, Amiga." Aidan slid his notebooks into his bag. It was clear from his haste moves that he didn't want to be alone in this class.
No dog is barking at your back. I held myself from saying this. My words would add fuel to the burning fire of his anger.
He passed his nervous smile. He did not want to be among powerful alphas and students.
The class was almost empty except for them, the alphas. We turned to the door. Darkice blocked our way, extending his leg and he put it on the desk.
"Let us pass, please." I said humbly. I didn't want any fight.
"You can, Chiqui." His eyes were cold on him and his jaw locked.
I was playing with fire. I couldn't scent emotions but I knew Aidan was frightened. I lifted my leg to jump over his straightened leg. I halted when my leg was straddling over his.
"Aidan," I gestured with my hand to pass him.
His eyes were huge with fear. He gulped looking at him. But he couldn't move.
"Is he going to pee in his pants?" Daniel commented, leaning his back against the opened door.
I touched his arm. I felt him trembling under my fingers. I opened my mouth but a squeal jumped out of my throat. My body tensed in dread when I felt his hand around my upper arm. I was yanked back and I was turned to face him.
My widened eyes were staring at him in shock. If we were a couple, I would have contemplated it as a romantic move and would have curled my arms around his neck.
My eyes bulged out when the corner of his lips kicked up. I squeezed my eyes shut. He could sense everything. My heart was running on the treadmill.
"What's wrong with you?" His fingers softly moved on my lower back. I realized that his hand was covering my back.
His eyes narrowed on me. Thankfully, they didn't flash amber. I took flashing amber eyes as a green signal to run away from the person. I could feel my cheeks on fire. I was going to embarrass myself.
"Sir, if you don't like us in the class we would reschedule it." I heard Aidan's frightful tone.
"What's your father's name?" He asked.
Aidan was whitened in fear. "No, you don't need to know." I said as I pushed myself away ignoring his warm palm on my back.
He pressed it, spreading his fingers on my back. He is looking so good, his strong jawline, his captive and unique golden eyes are so beautiful.
Stop this. They could scent your lust. Gosh! Where did you trap me? Why can't it be a normal day instead of too many ups and downs?
"Why?" His voice was soft and a low whisper as it was only for my ears.
"You'll hurt them.'' I lost the small courage I showed when I thought I could leave this class. My eyes lingered on his stomach, imagining his abs under his black tee.
I blinked sharply and swivel my neck. I ran my eyes on the empty desks. Nothing was working with him so close. "You don't even know me." I felt his hot breath over my face.
My heart doubled the beating. I needed to get out of here before I gave them too much to guess my thoughts. I pushed my feet away. A small smile crawled on his face, his eyes locked with mine.
"Come,' I grasped the side of his bag as I pulled him out of the class with me.
I trembled hearing his loud growl. I hurried my treads, not daring to look back. When we reached in front of our next class, my feet halted. My heart was pounding loud in my ears. I was breathing heavily and it was creating a tone reaching my ears.
"You alright?" I asked him.
His eyes were big in terror, all colors were drained from his face. He just nodded his hand. I saw Sisily waving her hand from her seat in the class.
"You need to see a doctor. In the cafeteria, I'll give you notes. You should call your day off." I told him.
"Thank you. I... I... just Thank you." He lifted his arms to hug me but stopped himself.
I could still feel his warm hand on my back. "Nothing to fear. They might be testing us." I smiled.
He inhaled deeply and nodded his head. He looked a little better. "See you soon." He walked to the hallway.
I strolled in the room. I saw the confused face of Sisily.
"He needs to see a doctor." I sat in the seat next to her. She kept Aidan's seat right back to us.
"Oh, his eye! I get it. You look drained." She asked with a deep frown.
She's Jace's mate. I didn't want a single thing to reach my brother's ear. She's his mate, not trained to hide her feelings. It would be a bad idea to share this.
"Just tired." I love maths. I could never get bored. I blew out a breath.
"Alright." She leaned back in her seat and pulled out her books. I did the same.
After changing into my yoga attire, I closed my locker. I winced seeing him leaning against the random locker. Our eyes locked. My heart was running. What was he doing in the locker room? He might be here to meet someone.
I forced my feet to move. He prolonged his arm, deterring me.
"What are you doing?" I let the confusion consume me, I needed it to cover my feelings. Any girl would like him. They wouldn't mind showing it publically. But not me, we had no match.
"Did I hurt you?" He asked, politely.
"No, but you scared him." I told him.
He growled. "You don't need to change the class."
"I wasn't even thinking." I muttered. He glanced at me tilting his head as he was studying me. "Why are you bothered?"
"You're my friend's sister. Your surroundings should be safe." He simply said.
Why was I trying to find something else instead of concern because I'm the sister of his friend. Couldn't he say something else?
"Okay," I took a step back, fidgeting on my feet. He made me feel nervous for no reason and safe too. It was obvious as he was the alpha and he made sure all are safe and sound in his pack.
"Good luck," He motioned at the door with his head.
"Um, thanks." I said and he was already on his feet toward the door.
I darted my eyes around. I didn't want anyone to see us. I shouldn't be bothered but I didn't want more trouble in my life. His earthy scent still lingering in the air. A smile pulled on my face.
