We woke up the next day, cuddling each other in a tight embrace. How to get my mother out of my father's den was the only thing on my mind. Jeremy assured me of her freedom, and we came up with an idea. We decided to meet Francis, Nikki's mate, in the vegetative pack. Maybe he would like to join us to fight my father and rescue my mother, but before then we decided to meet Billie and ask her about the accusation my father laid against my mother.
Billie, the young girl, sneaked up to us in a secluded area of the school where we used to meet. "Hey, Billie, could Amaya's mum know anything about Nikki's loss of memory?"
Billie waited for what seemed like hours but were just minutes, shaking her head. "I don't think so, Jeremy. If the proprietor could kill my biological parents, what makes you think he can't be responsible for Nikki's loss of memory?"
"Are you saying he is responsible for Nikki's loss of memory?" I asked Billie, but the way she rolled her eyes away at me seemed like she was not ready to say whatever she knew about Nikki's lost memory.
"I don't know about it, Amaya. All I know is that the proprietor is a villain in our territory. He is responsible for most of the atrocities that occurred in our territory," Billie said, and sighed, her eyes turning sour.
"But I will make sure I avenge the death of my parents on that bastard!" Billie added and walked away from us.
I and Jeremy nervously entered the dense forest where we were supposed to meet Nikki's mate. After some petrified hours, we finally reached a clearing where a man stood with his back to us, dressed in a dark cloak. He turned at the sound of our footsteps, revealing piercing blue eyes and a rugged face.
"You guys again, what do you want?" Francis asked with a bold voice.
"We are here to ask for help," I declared, trying my best to contain my nerves.
Francis arched an eyebrow in response, studying us for a moment before replying, "What is that?"
I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts. "We came to seek your assistance in rescuing my mother from my father. She's in danger, and only we can save her."
Francis's eyes softened, a flicker of recognition in his gaze. My heart raced as I looked at him. I took a deep breath, gathered my courage, and stepped forward.
"Francis, please," I implored, my voice wavering with desperation. "We need your help. My mother is in danger, and we can't do this alone."
Francis arched an eyebrow, crossing his arms. His gaze was mean as if he were sizing up the sincerity of our plea. "Why should I get involved in your family drama? What makes you think I would join you?"
My eyes pleaded with him, searching for any sign of empathy. "Because you understand what it's like to have abilities, to be different. You know the struggles we face. We can't let our differences tear us apart when there's a chance to help someone in need."
Jeremy sensing the urgency of the situation, added his voice to the plea. "Francis, this isn't just about us. It's about doing the right thing. Your skills and ours combined could make a difference. We can save my girlfriend's mother from that terrible man."
Francis's gaze softened slightly, and he uncrossed his arms, through the lingered demand. "Saving someone's mother is a noble cause, but why should I trust you? How do I know this isn't some elaborate scheme?"
I took a step closer, and my eyes locked on Francis. "You don't have to trust us completely. Trust the cause. Trust that, deep down, you want to make a positive impact. We may be different, but we share a common humanity."
Francis's eyes flickered with uncertainty, torn between his desire to remain refused our plea and the undeniable pull of empathy. After a tense moment, he sighed and relented. "Fine. But this better not be some trick. I'm doing this for the cause, not for you two."
Relief washed over me, and I managed a grateful smile. "Thank you, Francis. We appreciate it more than you know."
Jeremy led while we followed him behind to my father's hideout. As soon as we got there, we saw my father, the masked man, and Cena, glaring at us daringly. "Are you still here to try your luck, Amaya?"
"I am here to rescue my mother. Release her, and let her go!" I screamed at my father. He laughed sinisterly and walked up to where we were with the masked man.
"You again?" Francis yelled, pointing his hand at the masked man.
"Do you know him, Francis?" Jeremy asked him.
"Yes, he killed my parents and kidnapped Nikki, and since then Nikki has lost her memory," Francis exposed. His heart seemed to pound in his chest as he stood face-to-face with the masked man. The memories of his parents' brutal murder flooded back, fueling an anger that had burned within him for years. "You? You killed my parents years ago. I saw you kidnap my mate!" Francis's voice shook with rage as he confronted the man in the mask.
My father turned to look at the masked man and asked. "What? Is he telling the truth?" My father asked.
