Playboy Alpha and His Contract Mate

Chapter 77

Ch. 77 / 102 Jan 23, 2026

"Thank you, Amaya, for saving me!" Cena said, still looking into my eyes.

"You are welcome, Cena, who are those you have offended?" I asked him as he grunted in pain.

He shook his head, and said, "I don't know, Amaya!" I took a glance at his injured stomach, and my memory flashed back to the prison guard that was killed a few days ago. The gash on Cena's stomach was the same as that of the dead prison guard. The killer of the prison guard must be the one that gash through Cena's stomach, and the person that sent them knew about the death of the prison guard.

"Don't you think about the gash on your belly?" I asked Cena, his eyes widened, and stared at his belly one more time, but now with clear and examining eyes.

"The prison guard," he muttered, spared me a glance, and continued, "This mark was the same mark on the late prison guard's body. Who could these people be?" Cena added, lost in thought.

I hung my hand over Cena's shoulder and motioned him to my mother's place so he could be treated. Cena was on the bed while my mom treated his wounded stomach with herbs and drugs. And thus, this question escaped my lips.

"Are you sure it's not the school proprietor?" I asked, my mum, and Cena raised their eyes and looked at me through the lashes.

"I don't think the school proprietor can send those killers. Why will he send killers to me when I am one of his tools?" Cena interjected.

"Of course, he can, Cena!" I responded and looked away.

"Don't talk that way, Amaya. Your proprietor can't do such a thing!" My mum interfered.

I didn't know why I had this feeling that the school proprietor knew about all that was happening. Why was it that the attack came immediately after he left the proprietor's office? But then, Cena was his tool, he should not kill him, not now, and this conflicting thought made me erase my negative thoughts.

"It's fine, mum!" I said to her, and she continued treating Cena.

The next day I decided to go and meet my so-called father, Alex in the forest to ask him stylishly about the ability girl, Nikki, whom Jeremy claimed to be his one and only legitimate daughter. I sneaked up to his territory in the forest in the earliest hours of the day. I got there and met him training with some of his men on the training field. Immediately he saw me, he suspended all that he was doing and walked up to me, wiping off the sweat on his face with a handkerchief.

"My one and only daughter, Amaya. How are you doing today?" My father, smiling barely six meters from me spoke. Even as I was now filled with confusion and worries, I smiled back at him and met him in a cold embrace.

"Morning, Dad!" I rubbed his muscled back and said.

"It's too early to see you, hope nothing happened?" He asked me, looking into my eyes.

"I just needed to speak with you, Father. It's urgent!" I said to him. He held my hand and walked me up to a place on the school field.

"All ears!" He said as we had our seats.

I sighed, feeling scared or should I say nervous as I was about to ask him some questions. "Father, why did you kill Jeremy's mother?" I asked him, his eyes opened wider, and he smiled.

"Jeremy's mother wanted to kill me on a sunny day, but I was lucky to kill her first," my father said and drank from his bottle of water.

"Kill you? Why would she do that?" I asked with my hands in the air. "That's not your business, Amaya. All I ask from you is to join me and let's take charge of the packs in our totem!" My father said.

"Do you have any child with her?" I chipped in.

"I don't know, Amaya. She claimed she had a daughter for me back then, but the girl woke up someday and denied me!" My father said.

"Denied you?" I asked, suddenly, a big bang echoed in our ears. Before we could react, a group of men, in orange attire, emerged from the forest, and their faces were masked with malevolence. They encircled me and my father.

My father smiled and looked at me. "So you set me up, Amaya?" He asked.

"No, father, why will I do that?" I said to him and instinctively moved closer to him. "Who are you, and what do you want?" My father demanded, his voice laced with authority.

One of the menacing figures stepped forward, a sinister grin etched on his face. "We have been searching for you, Alex," he sneered. "You can't escape your past."

My eyes widened in confusion as the fierce figure said to my father, yet, my father was least bothered by his threat. He stood up with what I could call the speed of light, and held the figure by his shirt, making him struggle for life before throwing him away. Three sets of them faced my father, and they were beaten with Zero stress.

Suddenly, a young girl with strange eyes stepped forward, her hands ablaze with flickering flames. "Stay back!" she warned those guys, her voice carrying power. The flames danced in her grasp, a manifestation of an ability beyond what men could believe.

My father's cold eyes were now replaced with what I could call fear as this strange girl stepped in. However, my father studied the strange girl with recognition.

"Nikki, I am your father. We need to talk," My father implored, hoping to bridge the gap between them. I looked at her with bright eyes. So this was the so-called Nikki? He was damn powerful.

"I don't know you, Alex," she retorted, the flames in her hands flickering with increased intensity. The black rogues in my father's cabin began to throw arrows at her, but she burnt it with her fire.

I released my father's clothes and summoned my light ability. Suddenly, a beam of light radiated from my hand, flickering. I converged it at her but she dodged it and swarmed fire on my face. As a result of her intense fire on my face, I fell to the floor and was unable to make use of my ability.
