"Oh, yes, it's, Jeremy. All your lies would not make her love you, alright? I made her discover her abilities," Cena rose from the bed and said.
Jeremy scoffed, and responded, "Amaya is right, Cena. Nikki belongs to Alpha Alex but her memory was lost along the way."
We began to deliberate on the matter, and later my mother and Cena agreed that Nikki was the biological daughter of my father, but she strangely lost her memory.
As we talked, Jeremy's gaze was on Cena's wound. He stole some gazes to draw my attention to it, and I immediately followed his eyes to the area where Cena was wounded. That was the same kind of wound on the prison guard's body. And it looked like the handwork of the white-bearded man I saw in my father's territory some days ago.
"Cena, we need you to help us find some clues about the proprietor. That man might be evil!" Jeremy said to Cena. Cena rolled his eyes disgustingly at him.
"I am not in for that!" Cena interjected.
"Cena, you need to help us. Let us work together and make this happen!" I pleaded as I stood at his front. Cena never wanted me and Jeremy to be this close again. He wanted us to be far apart from each other, but that seemed not possible. The chemistry between me and Jeremy was unexplainable. The more I tried to get away from him, the more the Moon goddess brought us back together.
Cena sighed and moved out of our house, not well-pleased with the fact that I was closer to Jeremy again. "Amaya, you need to be careful!" My mother warned me as I and Jeremy walked out of the place.
The investigation continued. Jeremy was dressed in his wine suit, red bowtie, and sparkling shoes that fitted his legs. I was in my crispy gown and flat shoes and we were on our way to a party. Billie had told us a place in the pack where the proprietor and others had parties on a Friday night like this. I and Jeremy decided to attend the party even though we were uninvited.
As we walked into the party house, music blasted through the house, and the disco lights on the wall were dispensing various types of colors that barely made us see those flingers dancing and flirting on the dance floor. However, I stumbled upon the toe of a figure, and raising my head was the white-bearded man, the man I saw at my father's territory some days ago. Though he was all in the mask I could identify him by his posture. What's he doing here? Isn't he supposed to support my father?
He stared at me for some minutes, and I stared back at him before I went to take my seat. "Jeremy, that's the white-bearded man in a mask!"
Jeremy turned to me, throwing his eyes across the fling gummies dancing in the front. I tapped his hand and pointed at the white-bearded man who was now entrapped in the middle of three harlots. As I pointed my hand, Nikki caught me, and she gave a slight smile. I frowned at her and focused on my drink.
The white-bearded man in a mask walked outside, and I hinted at Jeremy. "Follow him, Amaya!" Jeremy whispered. As I stood up, Jeremy pulled me back. "Be careful of him. Alert your light ability."
I nodded and walked out of the place. I summoned my light ability as I sneaked around the surroundings of the party. I traced him to a corridor and was alert when a leg kicked my head. I fell on the floor and turned around to see Nikki.
"What are you doing here, Amaya? Here to haunt us? Has your coward father sent you here?" Nikki asked as she kicked my belly per question. I was weak and couldn't defend myself. Somehow, I felt inferior whenever I was in front of Nikki. I don't know if it was because I had already created this vacuum of fear in my heart. I was even damn scared to use my ability.
"Remember who you are, Nikki. You are my sister, and Alex is our father!" I said to her as I crawled away from her.
"Fuck you, Amaya. Alex is not my father. I have no family!" She growled and hit my chest again. I coughed extremely on the floor, yet nobody helped because of the music blasting through the surroundings.
She continued kicking me on my belly while I crawled away, and grunted in pain. Suddenly, a familiar figure in a mask jumped down from the ceiling on Nikki, holding her hands down. Nikki struggled to make use of her abilities but was restricted by the figure. I was also too weak to join the fight. I rested my head against the wall pavement and looked at the duo as they fought.
"Let go, Nikki!" The figure said as he pinned Nikki to the wall.
"Who are you? You seemed to be the toughest guy I have ever encountered!" Nikki said to his face. He chuckled. "Now go, Nikki! I don't want any more trouble."
He let go of Nikki, and Nikki left the place flipping me with a daring hand. He moved to me and helped me up to my feet. " Thanks, who are you?" I questioned, examining him. Maybe I could get who he was. His face looked so familiar, but just like Nikki, I seemed to have lost the connecting dots in my head.
"I am your longtime friend, Amaya. I am always with you to protect you. You will remember me someday!" He spoke. What? Longtime friend? He even knows my name.
"I need to know you, please. I am impressed by your dexterity and precision!" I said to him. He chuckled and responded,
"Don't forget your root, Amaya. And remember to take away fear. Remember you are strong!" He said, and with the speed of light, he jumped up and escaped through the ceiling.
"Amaya! Are you alright?" Jeremy called my name and ran out to me. I fell and rested on his arm.
